The Tavern in West Dunbartonshire

Had lunch here and the food was subpar. My chicken liver pate had no flavour and the apple chutney was very sour. My steak ciabatta cost £20 and came with no chips or salad, I was offered pink or well done and chose pink, if that was pink I would hate to see the well done. Staff were great but the food was very disappointing.

We came here the night we checked in, and the night before we left because we enjoyed it so much. The burger, mac and cheese, and potato soup were all hot and delicious. Also, the atmosphere was very nice and laid back with the live music on Friday night, and the service was fast. We will miss this place!

Burger was cold and tastless. Service was even worse. Wouldn't mind usually but so expensive Never again !

£20.80 for a pint and a medium wine, First and last time.

Food nice. But very over priced for what it is everything seems to be an extra charge. Burger doesn’t come with chips etc (Better going to queen of the loch down the road better value for money) Service is very slow. Staff act as if you are bothering them when trying to order. Tell you it’s table service but ended up going the back to the bar every-time to order and then automatically add on a services charge.

Ordered our food over an hour ago. We’re still waiting (and our waiter told us just two more minutes ten minutes ago)

Food is excellent, love the menu. well presented, good sized portions .. service a bit slow but would come again.

Food was perfectly fine, but for the price doesn’t feel like value for money. Service isn’t great, was poor when we stayed 18 months or so ago and certainly hadn’t improved during recent stay - both when quiet and at about 50% capacity. Service charge being auto added is salt in the wounds.

What can I say, Joseph is a star and was doing triple the work of others, he'd taken food to 3 tables and cleared 2 while everyone else was standing around the bar watching the tennis. Me and my partner came in and there wasn't many table to choose so we sat down where we waited more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged and when we were we had to wait another 10 for a menu because they were low on menus. After getting them we didn't even have 10 seconds and we were asked for our order, I asked for a minute and not even 1 minute later someone else came asking for our order. The table next to us sat with empty starter plates for more than 15 minutes. It wasn't until after Joseph had brought our starters did we get cutlery and still sitting at a dirty table. A lot of disorganisation, not knowing the status of a table and standing doing nothing while one coworker is nonstop moving to make up for others laziness. Haggis dirty fries were amazing

30 minutes for drinks, 40 minutes for food. Asked for sauce and it turned up 5 minutes after we finished our meal. 3 people on staff for a full bar. If you must insist on table service only then there must be enough staff.

How not to run a bar. Got to the pub and we were told we couldn't be seated because it was fully booked for the quiz. We explained we didn't want to eat, only to have a few drinks and take part in the quiz but the lady serving said no and we should go to the Scott's Bar instead. A really unwelcoming start. Despite this we found ourselves a table and managed to get drinks. Annoyingly it's table service only which could be OK if the service wasn't so unbelievably slow. We ended up going up to the bar to order but they said they'd have to deliver the drinks to the table. Also in terms of pub quizzes. Honestly the worst pub quiz I think I've ever done. It was all over an app and needed fastest fingers to get most points. This basically removed all social elements from a pub quiz. We ended up being in a 2 way tie for winning the quiz and somehow we ended up coming 2nd with the other team coming 5th 🤷 Photos show quite how many empty tables there were for us not to be seated and how empty our glasses were for most of the evening

Great views of the loch but the service was slow and the food was ok. The fish and chips (called something different) was tasty as were the wings but the chicken sandwich was a little underwhelming. Wings were an appetizer and when the main was served we asked for another napkin and were told there were none but we could have some cocktail napkins.

Staff and service were excellent in particular Emma who took the time to explain the menu and help with our decision.

Complete rip off for 2 drinks - £14.30 for a pineapple juice, and the most pathetic and revolting "mocktail" of passionfruit syrup and soda water (an alcohol-free mojito was requested, but they had no mint, or perhaps couldn't be bothered to get some). This price included a 10% service charge, the service being particularly dour and unwelcoming. The only positive of this experience was that it sent us on our way somewhere far nicer for lunch with the rest of our group of 8, and avoided an even bigger disappointment. 5 star? I think not.

If you want to have a quiet pint on the shores of Loch Lomond with views across to Balloch Castle, this is the place

Very disappointing experience. Service was slow and inattentive. 6 adults and a baby for dinner. The food was totally overpriced for the quality and offering. Would have expected much better quality and standards given the location

Honestly the staff were lovely. We arrived in Nice time for our booked meal. Only to discover a pick. The message had been well.. .. lost... ! Somehow. They very quickly sorted it all out. Offered us a free round of drinks. Right away to apologise. Nice table sorted out. Holiday weekend so a bit of time for food to arrive. Kid's loved the games machines. We all agreed the view is stunning. Food good and staff fantasticmistakes happen you were so good about it. So we will return. Thank you.

The location is absolutely amazing. We decided to have a meal before seaplane experience. The weather was lovely so we sat outside which was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the food was very average and the burger was completely dead. Prices are too high for the quality provided.

Sports bar theme with pool, darts, table football, board games and more to keep all ages entertained. Lots of space inside and terrace outside to soak up Loch views. Also features such as quiz nights and of course sports on TV a hit Attentive service and the quality to be expected from a 5* resort

Waited 45 minutes for a burger and fish and chips which was marginal. There was a knowledge game that a DJ started to narrate which was so loud, give up talking! The manager did offer a 2nd round of drinks for free but we didn't want a 2nd round. Overall disappointing.
