The food was delicious, and there was a great atmosphere, the music was also good and with the amazing weather made a good day.

Brilliant meal friendly staff well worth a visit.

Was very busy, more pub than restaurant so spoilt the mood for a date. Saying that, the food was fantastic, the staff friendly and quick with service. Will go again.

Fantastic place to eat and drink in Darlington - have been on many occasions and it never disappoints. Latest visit was for a catch up with friends - we sat outside - lovely sectioned off area - with trees - being able to watch the hustle and bustle of the town passing by whilst chilling. The pint of San Miguel was very good in fact that good I had another just to double check the quality. Friends had soft drinks & coffee which were all spot on. Our food we all opted for Gyros Style Wraps that came with salad and chips - all perfect - I had the Chicken & Manchego wrap amazing. This was a bonus as I normally have the tapas here which is also top quality. Staff were very friendly and quick to serve and replenish drinks etc.

The staff may change a little but they keep things just right. As always, great drinks, great service, love the place. Consistently the best pub in Darlington, bar none.

Weather was warm so we got a table outside. Could have been in Spain. Tapas and sangria were fantastic!

Food looks amazing, but only in for drinks. Quite expensive but you get a nice experience for your money, 😁

We visited the tapas bar for lunch. We ordered 8 Hummus - Nice with warm bread. 18 Halloumi - Cooked nice but far too much oregano. 38 Stifado - Nice but could do with more seasoning. 40 Choirino Koilia - Not to our taste at all. Adonis mountain potatoes - Tasted oily. Potato skins - Absolutely delicious Bakerman Bread Basket - the bread was a bit hard (maybe the type of bread) but the oil and vinegar came in pouring bottles, would be better if they came with dipping bowls. Jalapeños - Nice Service was good. Would recommend providing servings spoons so you don't have to use your forks after you gave eaten with them.

we only had one night in Darlington as it was a stop of on our holiday and so we could only book one meal but we sure did book a great place. The menu is very diverse with plenty of choice for all tastes, the food was extremely tasty and bursting with flavour and of high quality the prices were average but we got excellent food and excellent service the waiting staff were incredibly helpful and helped us a lot as one of our party had an unusual allergy, its obvious that the staff here really care about their customers and will go above and beyond to make the diners have a pleasant experience, the only downside is the room at the back of the restaurant is very echoey and it only took a couple of loud diners on nearby tables to make the background sound very piecing, I would definitely recommend some sound diffuser blocks on the wall in this room, apart from this everything was pretty much perfect.

Friendly helpful staff, food to stuff yourself silly with . Every dish i had was lovely and yes i did stuff my self (10 dishes later) i was rolled out the door stuffed 😁😀

Great food at a very good restaurant

So impressed with this place the food was amazing really tasty and bursting with flavour and generous portions, the service was amazing they were extremely helpful and definitely went above and beyond to make our meal pleasant, I would definitely recommend this place thank you so much to everyone there for a great experience, only improvement I could suggest is some sound diffuser blocks on the walls as the area where we were sat became very noisy with other diners talking became very loud bouncing of the stone walls.

Cracking place , outdoor seating area was a buzzing hive of activity , service was quick for both drinks n food , lager was nice n crisp and sangria was lovely tasting with plenty fruit included . Food for super aswell including a very tasty salad bowl , meat dishes were cooked as they should be , presented well and tasted great . Staff were friendly talkative and made sure you wanted for nothing and helpful with questions etc . Music that day was great but apparently was a one off wkend paid for by local council funding , both premises benefitted from it as both outdoor areas were busy, landlords should look at bringing entertainment in more often i think . Defo be returning

We booked a table for 8 and it was Monday night. The food is fairly good and fresh but the service is unacceptable. No manager shows and according to them, only one waiter is taking care of the whole room. Several staffs work on the bar area but don’t bother to come around and help. No one comes to clean the table before the dessert serve and waited for ages to get the bill.

Absolutely gorgeous food, had the chorizo potato skins in honey glaze which were excellent value for a side, could eat those all day! Service was amazing, super chilled and quick - 10/10 will come back

The shift manager Chloe was so lovely, made us some of the best cocktails we’d ever had and spent time explaining things and even made us off the menu cocktails, very lovely girl and would be back because of her.

First time I've been here and have to day what an amazing meal, atmosphere and evening. Beautiful food, buzzing friendly atmosphere and a great menu, if you haven't been you have to. You won't regret it!

We had a great meal here, some of the best tapas outside of Spain. However, we sat in a little back room, and the bar area was very rowdy. It kind of ruined the cosy atmosphere we were expecting. Having said that, the food was delicious, wine great, and the service of staff was very attentive. We would definitely come back, just maybe not on a Saturday evening

This is the second time we’ve been for tapas and mezze here. Great selection (I’m veggie). Friendly staff and relaxed but available service. Despite it being fairly full there was no wait on food and so we could eat before going to a show at the hippodrome. Nice atmosphere would recommend.

We have been eating at tapas bar for years when previous owner was alive . Yesterday we decided to call for lunch and now apparently you have to book a table. We were seated in a corner of another room and we both ordered moussaka. What arrived was mashed potato with mince mixed through . No sauce of any kind but chef added 2 sliced of courgette and tiny piece aubergine. Melted cheese on top. In all of my 61 years I have never been served moussaka like this . It was disgusting. If chef did nt have moussaka prepped I wish they just said so and I would have chosen something else. When somewhere only sells Spanish and Greek dishes how the hell can’t they make a decent moussaka. Very disappointing and we won’t be returning for a long while

Oh dear! First a wait to be seated even though we were literally one of only 2 couples. Then something we wanted, not on the menu (never mind). Service was pretty dreadful. Food felt and tasted like it was microwaved from days before. One dish was raw, but nobody came to check on anything... so when we called them to clear we said it was raw and that we weren't paying for it. This was met with an "OK, sorry about that" which made us think it happens a bit. Then 2 espressos one of which was cold on arrival, but by that time all I wanted to do was get out... last minute we got what seemed like a genuine apology. You get 2 stars because you didn't argue about the raw item, you showed me to the disabled toilets without being asked and the potatoes with garlic mayo were really really nice.

We loved this place. So many vegetarian options! Great way to order with a copy of the menu to tick. Pretty fast service. Friendly staff. Food was delicious and portions were adequate. We went overboard with ordering! And every item turned out to be good! We've only tried the tapas so far, hope to try the gyros next time. They looked good too on the neighbouring tables!

Great place. Only had a couple of drinks at bar. Not too busy but nice vibe. Been for food a while ago which was really good.

Id like to start by saying, the staff were incredible and very friendly and the bar itself was beautiful. It may be because i live in Spain and was over for work, but the food was not spanish tapas. I had the gambas pil pil and potatas bravas and it was not what pil pil and bravas is supposed to be. My advice would be to visit a spanish restaurant or have a chef that knows the spanish ingredients to know how to make it. Sorry

Sat upstairs. Service poor. Had to go downstairs every time we needed something, eg: water glasses, more drinks, food, coffees. Not good.

Practically everything we ate was lovely. The potato skins were really good. I did not like the ribs as there was far too much fat.

Food was tasty, service was friendly but a little patchy (the server who brought out our dishes called a number of them by the wrong names, and one of the dishes may have been entirely wrong since we ordered pork, they said it was beef, we asked for clarification and they didn't know, and we couldn't tell the difference), setting was dimly lit and extremely loud on a Saturday afternoon due to multiple big groups seated nearby - it would help if there were more curtains/soft furnishings etc to dampen the noise. Not a good spot for a quiet/intimate meal.

I went for tapas with my 2 daughters and my granddaughter. We all spent a couple of hours enjoying a chat , a drink and good food .

Me and two old friends chose the tapas bar for lunch.. It was for a catch up and a social meeting. We ordered about 9 different tapas. None of the dishes were exceptional.. But mainly OK. I do have a very nice glass of French wine though

Wow , first visit to Darlington as a veggie and the Old Court Tapas Bar did not disappoint. On the contrary the ambience was cosy and relaxing. Food was delicious and there was such a delicious variety. Service was attentive and just right. Would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant/bar.

Been a few times and the food is always lovely. It gets very busy so if you want a good table, may need to book in advance if possible!

Fabulous food. Definitely some of the best tapas I've ever eaten. Loved that there were so many Greek tapas options - and how good they were! The atmosphere inside was really charming. I particularly enjoyed the little paragraph of history on the back of the menu. Service could have been better - ordering by marking your choices on a piece of paper is certainly more efficient, and I did enjoy that aspect, but is also pretty impersonal. More importantly, we did have to wait a long time on a relatively quiet night with our coats on indoors for our dishes to be cleared. Menus were pretty sticky. The waitresses were pleasant enough though, and it didn't really impact too much on the night 🙂 Overall, I'd definitely recommend and would love to go back.

What a superb venue in the heart of Darlington. The food is incredible. Fantastic service. Great venue in the centre of Darlington. Will certainly visit again.

As we were a large party we were seated upstairs, it was very noisy, hot and stuffy. Couldn’t hear people we were talking to. Staff quite pushy to get our drinks order even though we were waiting on a couple of people, yet when it came to the food order we ended up taking it down to them due to the length of time we waited for a server to come back upstairs. Food was fantastic when it arrived, well cooked and delicious. I would go again but I’m a smaller party so can sit elsewhere or outside.

We’d had a weekend of rubbish vegan food, but this place made our weekend away! They have a separate vegan menu, but much of the options from the main menu can be made vegan which is a lovely touch. We had the bread basket (great bread!). We had the vegan Halloumi and chorizo wrap (wasn’t quite to our taste but the portion was huge!) But the tapas was incredible. I got the vegan borokakia (feta rolled in aubergine) - I’ve ate this in Greece many times prior to being vegan and this was so authentic it was beautiful. We also had the vegan patatas aioli which was lovely - and the hummus which was so creamy and delicious. Honestly it’s the best vegan food I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time and I’m trying to think of an excuse to travel back down to Darlington soon just to visit! Will definitely be back to sample more of the vegan menu. Vibes were great - staff were friendly and attentive. Food was incredible.

Highly recommend. Lovely, warm welcome. You are handed an order sheet to mark which tapas/meze you would like. Ideal, as it saved us trying to remember it all. We ordered about nine dishes, and we did pretty well. But i would suggest about 3 dishes each would work out right. I recommend the feta wrapped in aubergine and the dates wrapped in bacon and cheese (& i am not a fan of dates). We had a lovely, friendly waitress. Didn't catch her name, but please give her some baklava.

Delicious food - excellent choice. Great service. An all round nice dining experience.

Food was beautiful. We had the Lamb gyro plate and the lamb and chips were delicious. Couldn't fault the food. I've given a 3 for the service as one waitress asked if we were ready, we asked for a minute and she never came back. When i went to the bar to ask to order the other waitress said I had to be served by the male waiter, who was busy and she just stood there next to him, waiting for me to ask him. It wasn't very professional and felt like it was all on the one person. She thrn gave me drinks that she didn't know which was which and that ended up us both having to taste them to find out.

So good! Came for lunch, it was huge! Haven’t eaten again today and it’s now midnight 😆 Friendly staff greet you at the door and seat you. Even at midday the place was busy. Speaks volumes! Staff explained the process for ordering tapas and also said they’re known for their gyros. Went with a chicken and chorizo gyro and it was great. Lovely food and big portion. The chips on the side were different class. Maybe the best I’ve ever had! Recommended.

I am from Greece and I assure you that the flavors of the food have nothing to envy to the genuine traditional Greek cuisine. Everything was excellent! Very good atmosphere, extremely friendly environment and helpful staff. George (owner) is an amazing guy!!! We had a great time, I highly recommend it!!!

Visited here with my youngest Son a few weeks ago as he really wanted to try some different types of food. He really enjoyed it. I have visited several times before and this is place is definitely one of my favourite restaurants, lovely food, nice atmosphere, clean environment and staff are all really polite and friendly.

This was my first time at The Old Yard Tapas Bar, I would highly recommend it, the food was really nice and was served very quickly too.

Got a seat outside the night was just right for this.The food was very tasty and we enjoyed.The youngsters who were serving on, obviously were new to the task and it showed, a person with experience should have been there to orchestrate the ballet.The atmosphere in a full eating area was perfect.

Food was absolutely beautiful. 7 of us went and we ordered a little too much, thankfully the waitress held back on the extra bread one of the group had ordered as we struggled to eat what we had! Can thoroughly recommend the calamari and prawns as they were perfect. Will definitely be going again.
