Went tues 6th August 24, with my eldest children, my daughters first ever indian, she loved it ,when back over in n.ireland will pop in again

We were in mid week for the early bird menu. This place is so good. The quality of the food is just perfection. I would recommend anyone to come and try it out especially mid week for their offers. We will definitely be back!!

Amazing food. One of the best meals I’ve had for a very long time. Their spicy dip with the poppadoms is out of this world. The lamb special curry had a real depth and complexity. Highly recommend

Highly recommend this place. We tried quite a few dishes and was amazing. Sandeep and the staff were all amazing. Very helpful, recommended great dishes, and gave us a sample that was amazing. If you're looking for Indian food in the area, come by here. Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Follow Up: Came back for the Wednesday Curry Tasting Evening and was better than the first time we came. Service was still incredibly amazing and Sandeep was outstanding. Still highly recommend you come here if you're looking for Indian food. You will not be disappointed.

Sandeep took care of us. He was very nice. He helped us with our order. He gave very good suggestions. The chicken Tikka Masala was very yummy. Everything was wonderful.

Beautiful restaurant, super attentive staff (multiple staff) couldn't do enough for you, even asking if we'd like to take away some of our food as one of us didn't eat much and left alot, food was top notch, lovely , highly recommended. Only thing I'd let others know is there is really no parking spaces for the restaurant, you have to park up along houses , we parked up on a high kirb, its not a big issue but just for anyone who needs to know. The alcohol is extremely expensive (small bottle sparkling wine £10) would be my only complaint.

Went to this restaurant today,had some pompadoms and dips to start..simple flavoursome..then ordered chicken Fried rice,it came with a sauce...hubby ordered Rogan Josh,naan and Pilau rice....our food didn't take long to come out,but when I seen my meal I was shocked to say the least.it was a small portion of rice,there were no vegetables in rice,there was some egg and if there was a 1/8 of a chicken breast chopped into the tinest pieces,(to be honest we thought it may have been a pk of frozen rice,as basic as you could get.).the sauce well I nearly was sick looking at it,I can only describe it as dirty dish water full of gelatine,that's what it looked like and it tasted of nothing, disgusting,hubby's food was ok....we had a glass of water and a coke..the bill was not far off £50...I was very shocked to say the least..yes we knew the price on ordering but I didn't think my food was going to be so sparse...the worst meal IV probably ever had and value for money ,no absolutely not....needless to say we will not be eating there again...

2nd visit here, albeit a few years apart, the last time I visited was just after lockdown (I live in England) The staff are great, very attentive and friendly The food is awesome, I really enjoyed it last time, hence my visit tonight. I wasn’t disappointed and, after a recommendation, I know what I’ll be having the next time I visit Well worth the visit, you won’t be disappointed

Ordered 3 kebabs on chips with house sauce and salad takeaway , £10 per kebab. Kebab meat tasteless and too thick, very little salid of little bit of lettuce and red onion, and even less house sauce, at £10 a pop i would expect enough food to fill the container it came in. 1st and last time ordering here.

Myself and my fiancé went here for a lovely dinner last night, we dine out in Indian restaurants a lot in Belfast and came up to magherafelt for a visit. Lovely decor and ambience in the restaurant. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The food was absolutely superb. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and my fiancé ordered the monkfish balti. The garlic and coriander naan was to die for!! Will definitely be back when we are back in Magherafelt!!

Best Indian food in northern Ireland

The Taaj is a must eat at restaurant. The decor and art is lovely and the food is great. The staff are friendly and when you enter you can already smell the spices. The atmosphere is fantastic but the seats are not the most comfortable but its not going to affect my rating.

brilliant, i have a loss for words. absolutely brilliant, after being bullied by the tesco owner, two schools and a rabid child, its a great place to sit back and have a good meal.

Ordered delivery from here many times. Food is absolutely gorgeous. Love the gluten free options.

I've never had a bad meal from the Taaj, beautiful authentic Indian food, staff are always fast and efficient and friendly. I'm not a big drinker but a lot of friends love their cocktails too

The samosas and side where decent but the chicken korma was inedible Added note: I have been up vomiting since eating the food. Do not eat.

Truly horrible. Chicken tikka kebab on chips with garlic sauce. Dry chicken tikka, chips hard and cold. Never again.

Lovely food and efficient service. The restaurant was very relaxed and not overcrowded. The servers were knowledgeable and very helpful too.

We placed an order for a family 7 people. The food arrived half an hour after it was supposed to. After we had our food, the general consensus was that the food was very underwhelming and lacking in flavour and quality. To add insult to injury, one of our group is feeling unwell after being kept up during the night with an upset stomach which we believe was attributed to the chicken biryani he had. As a family who are well-versed and ardent Indian cuisine lovers, we would not recommend ordering from this establishment.

Again, the food was flawless. I eat out of the Taaj quite alot, and I have to say, I have yet to get a bad meal. Amazing staff who are so knowledgeable about the food, and always greet you with a smile. And the owner is a fantastic guy. I would highly recommend the Taaj.

Second time visiting here and it has improved so much. Loads of Veggie friendly options, staff offered to alter dishes to vegan also (the waitress made sure yoghurt and milk were removed from our sauce, the taste was still amazing). It is so hard to find nice vegetarian food in Magherafelt which is not a lasagne or burger, so I was so impressed with taaj's multiple interesting options. Can't wait to go back, I recommend the Veggie share platter if your going as a couple!

We paid £27.00 for burned Nan bread a pathetic Doner kebab and the chicken in the jalfrezi was tough! Really disappointed after waiting a long time to try it. First and last time eating out of it! Feel robbed!

This used to be nice but not tonight, the butter chicken was chalky and bland its just not the same as the shish Mahal in Cookstown, a far better quality of food and prices are more reasonable. The nann bread is tasty and is what brought it up a star.

Booked a table for two persons on saturday evening!when we arrived were seated downstairs which was originally the takeout section now being used as seating due to covid!however lacked warmth,patrons coming in for upstairs waiting around no privacy!service was poor got our food was nice enough could have been warmer!we were never offered desert or coffee,staff lifted plates ect,never acknowledged we were at the table,had to ask twice to get the bill!for£60 would not rush back!feel its a case of get you in and grab your money!!!

This place is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Their food is stunning and very tasty authentic Indian cuisine. The hand painted wall art on the walls upstairs is remarkable, very talented work. Warm cosy atmosphere. Went here on date night with my partner, arrived at 9.30pm and they were still serving food till 10pm which was so handy that time of night. Highly recommend the Royal buttered chicken for main with pilau rice. However on this occasion I had the Lamb Tikka Masala with Pilau rice. My partner Chicken Madras with Pilau rice. We had poppadoms with the dips to go with mains. Starters were onion bhaji's and chicken pakora. So tasty from start to finish. Did not order dessert cause we were too stuffed to fit anymore in lol. We will definitely be back again to try more. Thanks again.

Food is really good, chicken tikka for starter was delicious, butter chicken a bit too sweet for me. Very busy/crowded, especially in these corona times (probably because of the 50% off scheme, but still). Would have loved to order from the full menu instead of the smaller version they currently use.

Decent food and fair price considering the amount of of food that you're getting but can be considered as pricey. In the nice little town of Magherafelt so the atmosphere is calm. Tandoori prawns are really nice. Staff claim the food is halal but no certification or even mention in the menu or website.

The food and service just keeps getting better and better. My favourite restaurant by far and loved by my visiting friends and family. Would give it 6 stars if possible.
