It's a bit out of the way, but a nice find. The food and the staff were very good.

Asked for a table for 2 told no walk ins. There was plenty of tables free and few people about. More staff than customers. Very strange

Good place for a quick bite to eat

Following its recent exterior facelift the Old Thatch Inn is postcard perfect! But the star inside is the delicious food. Had a lunchtime get together recently with family and there were no complaints! Clean plates all round. The honey chilli chicken and the loaded wedges were firm favourites. We dine here quite often and are never disappointed. The kitchen staff are obviously passionate about what they do! See you again soon.

Absolutely disgusting experience in the thatch today. Food was leftover stuff just heated up. Set for 3/4 of an hour before anyone approached us. How to go to the bar myself for drinks. When they took the order they were away for three quarters of an hour.. sister had been an early on in the day and said the same about the food. She had got chicken goujons and they were off. Send them back and got nothing in return. Dead end of a place

Terrible experience and even worse service. Booked a table ok Sunday for 6.30pm.. ordered our drinks and starters. Asked a server at 7.05 was there any word on starters as other tables in after us had finished theres.. someone came back to say another table ordered the same and they got ours.. Ordered off the set Sunday menu, ordered the fillet steak with £10 supplement, no fillet left so we got sirloin at the same price, asked the server what is the bushmills sauce as i never had it and her response was “i don’t really know, I don’t like the look of it anyway, theres mushrooms in it” . Mains came, steak was cold - i assume it is because they had been sitting as we had a long wait on starters. Had to get up and ask for cutlery- at no stage did anyone come and ask was everything ok, otherwise we would of said the steaks were cold - however my partner did comment on it when our plates were eventually lifted. We sat for another 10-15mins and a waiter came over, thinking it was to ask us if we wanted dessert menus, but no.. it was to ask us if she could take our place mats. Me and my partner both looked at each other in disbelief. She took them and set them at an empty table, no sure what the purpose of it was but it’s definitely not something you would see in other restaurants. A waiter eventually came and asked if we wanted dessert menus - we ordered a cheesecake & chocolate fudge.. a waiter came set the fudge cake down and left, I thought to myself would it not of been a better idea to bring both down at the one time, never the less - i waited, and i waited, my partner finished his and mine still wasn't there. I called a waiter over and asked where mine was - she asked what i ordered - I eventually just said box it up and i will take it home as we had enough. I am not sure why service was so bad,’as there was plenty of staff- all be it the girls were gathered in a corner talking (this is something we have noticed in the past) and at 8pm 1 or 2 running about with there coats on ready to leave. I think it’s nice to work somewhere that you can chat with your colleagues and have a laugh, but not when customer are looking around the room waiting for there order to be taken or food to be brought down. We expressed our disappointment to (i think a supervisor) a young male, he was lovely and apologetic however we did explain that this was our 3rd time here in the past 9 months as we do like the food and it is good to support local, but each time service has not been great but I guess we were living in hope. I’m not sure what way it works as there seemed to be plenty of staff but they were scarttery, it maybe would make more sense if 1 waiter was assigned to certain tables/area’s - maybe something for management to take in to account if they value their business.

My daughter had her baby's christening meal here and what a disaster. The meals were pre-booked so we thought we wouldn't have to wait long, it was 1 hour before any staff appeared to see if we were ready, children were so hungry and indeed so were we all. When the food finally arrived the staff walked about dizzy waiting for someone to tell them which table to serve, food was tasteless and seemed to have been cooked and precooked, no-one was happy with their food.very disappointed, would definitely not return again.

Have never been in a bar where you have to clear your.own table and get served a vodka in a coffee cup

Excellent food and service as always, hadn't been since pre covid, but food was still the same high standard as previously. Hope to visit again soon.

Fantastic food but far too long waiting for food,service staff not very efficient or friendly,table booked but not ready when we arrived,even though it was not overly busy,disappointing.

Terrible service food was lovely plates not lifted after main and dessert sat down beside if when I asked the girl to clean the table she slammed my plate in front of me I was embarrassed Don't think we will be back

A great find! Staff were excellent.... particularly grateful that staff were knowledgeable about and attentive to food allergies, portions were generous but just right, food really delicious and atmosphere relaxed. A great spot for family with two young children.

Great food and the staff are great. Don't go without a lift home as no Taxi will come. Apparently they are black listed but no fault of the Thatch. Just local taxis are not interested in the fare. Great pub though

Absolutely loved the food the first time, had to visit again within 3 weeks. Highly recommended.

I've done a lot of reviews on Google and very rarely find any fault with places. Food was tasty and portion sizes fine. My 10yr old girl and 8yr old boy were still hungry after their kids meals but I still think the portion were fine and price was £6 which was fine. Main problem was that we had booked and arrived 5mins early. We got shown to our seats promptly but not offered a high chair at first and we planned to ask when food or drink was being ordered but it took 20mins for anyone to come back to us. Once ordered the food arrived in 15mins and it was nice, but the high chair was forgotten and had to ask again. We had ordered a small spud/veg/gravy for a 1 yr old but it was forgotten too. The kids meal comes with a small red sauce which my boy finished quickly. We were unable to catch anyone's attention to ask for more despite them walking past us maybe 3-4 times. We probably should have just got up and went to find them or went to bar to ask for more sauce but normally we don't have to. We were served by 4 different staff, they were all very polite but just those things mentioned above was frustrating. Waiting for those 20mins with hungry kids is hard. Otherwise atmosphere was fine, quiet and spacious, prices were fine. But while £78 for a family of 6 is reasonable considering the 3 cokes, 1 pint and desserts for everyone it'll be hard to justify booking again. I've included photos too. Kids had a sundae (choc ice cream in metal bowl) or a kids fudge cake £2. Adults had 2 course for £20. Good food and good dessert (brownie with ice cream, custard and sponge). The baby bowl portion was big and in a big plate, also in the picture

Love this spot. Food is delicious, try the Chicken BLT burger. Lovely atmosphere for all times. From a quiet lunch with a friend to a large family function they provide top notch service and a friendly atmosphere.

What a great place 1st time there and will be back the Food was outstanding 11 clean plates plus starter's all round what can I say 10 out of 10

Fish and Champ good. Caesar salad would have been lovely too, as chicken nice and tender, but unfortunately it was swimming in Caesar dressing.

Really friendly and efficient staff. Food was brought out so quickly. Our meals were delicious and the portions very generous. The cappuccino was the best I ever had (and I've had A LOT)! We will definitely go back.

Have been visiting the Thatch for nearly 20 years and the Food and service has been consistently excellent. Car park needs a little resurfacing but we can't have everything...

Excellent!! Table for 18 and food and service was first class! Food was served quick and no mistakes.

There for an early lunch. Food was very good, especially the goats cheese. Young guy serving was really helpful and friendly. Fire lit was nice touch. Pretty quiet but nice place.

The Thatch is an absolute gem in Mid-Ulster, fantastic food and service every time we go in! The staff are also so accommodating and helpful. Would recommend to everyone.

Always enjoy our good here. Homely surroundings.
