The Swing in Camden

So happy to have found this gem of a restaurant. The menu is absolutely fantastic, as is a the food and service. It’s literally a place vegans, vegetarian’s and gluten intolerant people have been wishing for! However I took my carnivore family with the 2nd time around and they thought it was just as fabulous as I did! My 9 year old loved the Margarita pizza. The vegetarian cheese burger, (or vegan option with smoked vegan cheese), is to live longer for… I’m so glad my daughter moved to the area, now I can slowly get through the whole delicious menu at every visit!

Thanks for having us yesterday. The food was great (some dishes were a tad too spicy for me but everything was tasty). Really enjoyed and appreciated you giving us time to relax and enjoy our meal. You were also lovely and accommodating to the gluten free situation we were incorporating. We’ll definitely be back and recommend to others. Thanks again :)

The food was pretty nice but the service was so slow- the waiter was friendly but it seemed like they had just two people serving the whole place and making the drinks which was not enough. It took 25 minutes to order and almost 40 minutes to receive two glasses of wine. The food came out at completely different times- we had three meals all were served at least ten minutes apart.. bizarre! It has potential but I wouldn’t return soon based on this experience

This place is more like a cafe from the 60’s and a bad one. The decor is somewhat assembled from a skip. Let me get to the food. We were a party of four that went for the lunch menu, or should I say what was available. I went for the vegan chicken burger with kimchi. Pretty dry and tasteless. I discovered something that looked like cabbage. There was also something that looked like an onion ring but wasn’t. I reasoned that it was supposed to be the kimchi. The bun was dry and reminded me of chewing through cardboard. The only thing that tasted good was the Greek pizza. The sweet potato chips were ok but they were extra. In these times of high inflation I wonder who would order sake with this kind of nonsense. It just doesn’t match. I would suggest drinking coke to camouflage the taste. Sake with sushi, yes but this, no. It’s not cheap. The staff are clueless and happily incompetent. it’s very poor value. My two stars are one for the pizza, one for the chips and I’m being generous.

Delicious vegan brunch meal - full of flavour & copious. We will come back for the tasting menu for sure!
