We came across the Swan at Eynsham, which is about 4 miles outside Witney, by chance, driving through the village and are really pleased we did. Dog friendly and very welcoming. There is a cosy snug with a fire, a bar and a further room at the back. We had lunch - I had the chicken curry with rice, nan and chutney, from the curry and a pint menu for £10 and my husband had the lamb shank with mash from the more specialised menu. Both were delicious. On the day we went there was a deal on for the curries, home made pies or burgers. £10 with a pint of beer. Excellent value. We enjoyed it so much we went back 2 days later and although the £10 deal wasn't on the food was still very well priced and once again we had a lovely meal. I had a delicious fish pie and my husband had the steak and stilton pie with mash. Our dog even got a free sausage! I don't usually write food reviews, but we enjoyed this so much, we thought this friendly pub deserved a mention. There is a varied menu with something for everyone. All social distancing was observed.

Last minute decision to go last night and make use of the scheme. Absolutely no regrets. A genuinely friendly welcome without being overbearing. Sat outside but were given the option to go in if the weather turned. I have given 5 stars because everything we had was spot on, cooked as ordered, served hot and delicious. We had three starters; whitebait, Chorizo, and the cauliflower fritters. Three mains; two fish and chips, and I had the burger. Shared a couple of deserts; lime posset and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was really good!! The menu is not fine dining, but there is a great choice. I hear the breakfasts and roast dinners are really good from friends that have been recently. We will be back soon.

Great coffee, warm & friendly staff. Loved the Anzac biscuits! Lovely place to come & just wile away the time & warm up on a cold day.

When I walked past and saw “cakery” on the door, naturally I couldn’t resist popping in. It didn’t disappoint, with a tremendous selection is a glass counter. There were the more “usual” options as well such as Victoria Sponge or Coffee & Walnut cake and even these looked quite spectacular, certainly far better than usual offerings one finds. But even if they were extra special, I thought I’d try something different and so opted for a Bakewell Blondie bar complete with half a miniature Bakewell tart on top! To be honest, it didn’t have quite the wow factor I was expecting perhaps, but it was nonetheless very good, just the right amount of sweetness, lovely and moist and a generous portion. Across the table a Rocky Road on steroids was also well received, and accompanying latte was very good too. Overall, highly recommended.
