Beautiful food, nice coffee. Great outdoor seating right across from the beach. Quick service. Super friendly young ladies keeping the place running smoothly even when busy.

Booked our two boys in for surf lessons while we enjoyed coffees and fifteens. Lovely place, friendly and great with kids and really well organised!

Set on 3 different levels this place often seems to be 'buzzing' with chit-chat, and a constant flow of customers. Hence, don't expect rapid service ~ good drinks take time to make properly, and my Latte was topped with barista-style 'Latte Art' Back in 2023 : same as before, now with the addition of food. The bacon bap (not cheap, at £5) was a little underwhelming, sadly, a bit too dry for me. But others on my table had "The Bomb" toasties, which seemed much more substantial and well worth the extra money. Traybakes continue to be yummy ! Back for 2024 : Now only available on 2 levels, but coffee still okay, and 'made to order' so not rapid, but traybakes still good too. Brilliant place if you have a dog with you as they're also allowed in. Others in my group ate toasties and filled croissants and they were decent too, so they told me.

My favourite stop for a flat white! From staff, to views and the atmosphere, it is the most welcoming cafe! The PB banana bread is the way to my heart, and the pupacinos go down a treat! 🐶

If you haven’t yet been here, you’re missing out on a really great spot for coffee or a light lunch. The food is excellent . There’s seating both inside and out, dogs are welcome and the staff are both friendly and efficient.

Surf lessons with Aran were fantastic - great fun and chat whilst learning to surf as first timer. Thoroughly recommend - don’t miss out.

Great little spot for a relaxing coffee whilst in Castlerock. Good views of the beach and decent coffee. Traybakes do not disappoint either. Lunch options are limited but again, decent enough. Bike parking is available on site, although only the wheel breaker type rack it is probably the best cafe in Castlerock to cycle to as your bike is always visible at least. Little shop in the back does tshirts, photo prints and stickers too which were a hit at home.

Very nice atmosphere, delicious vegetarian/vegan cake, Zoller Mocha. Friendly employees. A visit is highly recommended. And across the street is a dream beach.

Great place as a stop for cyclists. Bike rack inside the gate so no bike anxiety. Great coffee, great cake. Lovely view.

They seem friendly, but the pastry was dry and hard as if it had been sitting out for days and the coffee had some weird milk in it that was definitely not cows milk and it tasted horrible.

Had a surf lesson here. Provided an excellent instruction and tailored training for me to get catching the waves. I was very much a beginner but now I feel I've discovered a brand new sport and can't wait to try it again, was really good fun! Would recommended to anyone for a fun day out. Beach is beautiful also

Great place to relax n just look at the sea !

Nice little place across from the beach with outdoor seating and a few seats under cover and inside. Dog friendly. Menu limited to drinks and traybakes with a few other opinions such as sourdough toast.

Oh my, I so needed a coffee and this was one of the finest I got around here. Also the food is delicious and I especially recommend the “Fifteen”.

Brilliant, a lovely little secluded eatery with great atmosphere and view down to the sea that you can just sit and soak in. Will be back, definitely!

Lovely place nice coffee however ordered 1 toastie 1 goats cheese toast and 2 coffees , 2 coffees were served promptly, but food arrived 15 mins later and the toasties and toast were cold unfortunately. You could possibly speed that up..Pleasant place to sit for a tray bake and coffee after a surf, I'm giving 5 stars because Staff were all very pleasant although young they did their best. Coffee is great however it's a surf board hire and coffe shop, we went in for lunch. We will be back for coffee and tray bake

We stopped here when walking the dog on Castlerock Beach. We had noticed on line it was dog friendly and were keen to try. Really good coffee and lovely tray bakes. Cinnamon swirls and Carmelita incredible. But my sister is a connoisseur of a fifteen and has had one in every cafe we have been in on our 5 nights at the North Antrim Coast, she said the one here was by far the best. Lovely casual seating area and super friendly staff. Gorgeous view of coast and beach. Highly recommended.

This is not fine dining - more rustic in style. But it is such a great spot with covered areas to enjoy great food, fresh air, and a view of the ocean. The staff are most friendly, helpful and efficient. It adds such pleasure as an oasis for walkers and beach families alike.

Just a quick stop in for hot chocolate but we were very impressed with the friendly service, lovely location and the kids have claimed it was the best hot chocolate they have ever had! Hopefully will be back to have lunch someday

Great spot to enjoy a nice coffee or bite to eat after a walk along Castlerock beach just across the road. Dog friendly as well which is great. Love the photo board with Polaroids of all the dogs that have visited over the year. There’s a nice shop setup now in the back to with a variety of T-shirts, prints and photography.

Such a pretty location to sit with a glass of wine (Bring your own) and have a cheese board (you buy when there) and watch the sun go down. Music is softly playing in the background and the fairy lights are everywhere. You would think you are in Cornwall. Castlerock has needed this for a long time- well done.

Amazing cafe with delicious coffee and lunch food with a gorgeous sea view. This place has a lovely ambiance with seaside relaxed decor and some fun merchandise to purchase. In the evenings they do cheese and wine. We loved this place and will definitely be back.

This cafe is on one of our cycle routes. It’s everything a surf shack cafe should be: at the beach, great views, lots of open air seating(some covered for inclement weather, friendly staff, good choice of light bites and snacks and, critically, excellent coffee.

We met with friends here today - lovely seating outside and in a sheltered area. Service was fast and everything was of very good quality and reasonably priced. We will certainly return.

Wee pop up stand is still open for take away. Absolutely fantastic treats on offer. Had ourselves a lemon slice and a toffee and banana muffin along with our coffees all for under a tenner. Great chatter from the baristas too.

The location is perfect. The ambience is perfect. The staff are first class and friendly. The only thing that would make it 5* is if there was more of a menu to offer.

Excellent haven for a quick coffee when visiting Benone Strand. Coffee is excellent and staff engaging, friendly and helpful. Limited space only an issue if raining!

Finally managed to get time to drop in on the surf shack today - loved it. Busy, but excellent organisation and everybody well able to keep their distance outside, with a fun atmosphere and ambience. It’s a truly cosmopolitan experience, like being on the Med coast, but here in Ireland! Well done to Aaron and the team for the vision in getting this up and running, amazing. Delighted to see the innovation in this and endeavour to make something new and fantastic for the Causeway coast.

The Surf Shack has brought Castlerock alive! Everything about this dog friendly place is excellent.. The young staff are so lovely..the coffees and smoothies excellent, the sandwiches, scones and sweet treats all delicious. They now have started serving a cheese platter on weekend evenings and...

My husband & I visited a couple of days ago & we were really disappointed. We had been on several previous occasions & it was passable. Our last visit demonstrated that it is run by a group of teenage boys who obviously cannot cope with...

1st visit to a coffee shop after shielding for 3 months and was disappointed to see a lack of sanitising and tables and not being cleaned nor sanitised. Coffee was mediocre and staff not very chatty.

Only thing please ask owners dogs on leads please lovely spot friendly staff warm with great views
