I am really local to the area (therefore I don’t know what the rooms are like because that very reason precludes the need to stay at the establishment). The awards won speak for themselves. Staff are friendly too. Prices are very good value for what is offered, and there is a selection of drinks to suit all, from, beers, wines and spirits and soft drinks and everything in between. I hope to visit this pub and have a drink at this pub in the near future. Keep going guys.

Lovely hotel. Just a pity some of the staff will ruin your expectations. Just know they are only there for your money. So fake.

A great local in a prime location with easy access to the town centre and transport links, both within walking distance. I can’t score the rooms as I haven’t stayed there as I live locally, thus precluding the need to do so. There is live sports and music too. Staff are friendly, you also won awards so it speaks volumes. There is a lot of choice on the beers, wines; soft drinks front plus everything else in between. Keep going and I hope to have a drink here in the near future.

Good value for the price. Quality is as per the price point. (Room could do with renovating.) I was given a warm welcome with relevant information. Comfortable bed and powerful shower. Great to have the separate 24hr access.

Great local pub. Friendly quick service, decent food, best beer garden in Beeston. My one suggestion and strong recommendation would be to get the playground equipment serviced and repaired. The swing and especially seesaw look like an accident waiting to happen unfortunately

Well run village Pub, with a good range of beers. There's plenty of seating inside and out and food is prepared on the premises. Wednesday is Pizza day and I had an Italian stone baked one which was over crispy on the edges but otherwise good

This is a pub with a large garden. There are many types of alcohol and beer that you can enjoy. Beer taste classification graphs are posted, so you can easily find your favorite beer. The pizza is also delicious.

We arrived late to meet our friends for pizza and they had already been served when we arrived, so ours were cold. I asked for mine to be reheated and it was delicious despite the extra crispiness! Great atmosphere, good selection of drinks and friendly service at the bar. Thank you 😊

Nice enough pub. Ran out of mango cider which is a shame. £5 for a pint of fruit cider seems steep but is about average nowadays. The tent room has a nice vibe.

Close to the tram stop, this is a traditional multi-roomed pub which still retains the old Shipstone's windows. Each room has a character of its own and a warm welcome is assured here. On the bar, there is a great range of about half-a-dozen or so ales, mainly from smaller local breweries. The menu focuses on good quality pizzas and burgers which aren't cheap but are reasonable value for their size and quality. They also do some lighter meals and sandwiches at lunchtimes. Well worth a 15 minute tram ride from the city centre.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience was had by our whole party, what an absolute diamond in the rough to find for our Covid Christmas Bash. The staff even put on socially distanced darts for us and wavered the supplement for chalk. Maybe it was nothing, but there did seem a huge surplus to requirements of Wotsits...

Top rate boozer! It's good to see a place thriving in these uncertain times. The Star has adapted well to the covid restrictions, me and my mates felt like we was back in the old days. Looking forward to visiting again after lockdown. Thanks for an ace evening.

As I meandered along the river Trent on a cold December's eve, what did I happen to stumble across but a veritable Wonderland of fun and festivities. The Mad Jatter and March Hare were nothing compared to the zany characters that I encountered at this most fantastical of watering holes. I was immediately made to feel welcome and surely would never have left if reality didn't rear it's ugly head and beckon me back into this cruel tiered world. I long for the day that I can return and exalt in the glory that is..... The Star Inn.

I’d heard a lot of good things about the Star Inn following the change in management. But it’s not for me, far too many locals drinking White Russians and kick-flipping. Not enough cider and walls on offer.

Had a short night stay as I was attending an event and stayed at this lovely pub/B&B for one night. The price was very reasonable and within two minutes from the metro station. Very convenient. The room was small, bed very comfortable and everything was in good working order. There was a restaurant and food was excellent and its prices were superb. Great place to stay for a short visit and not too far from Nottingham down town. Definitely recommend it.

The great attraction is the cask ale with around 10 brews on the bar pumps. The couple that I tried were pretty good, and although it was busy on a Friday evening, we found a table in the permanent marquee which was dry and warm enough. Not sure about the food, but it is well worth trying for a great pint. There is also a CAMRA discount on the beer.

Ordered 2 pizzas. Sunday 12:30pm ; pub wasn't busy and food came quickly. My pizza tasted great BUT on my second to last slice I bit down hard on a piece of hard plastic (might have even been glass concealed within the pizza. was approx. 1cm by 0.5cm and had a shrop broken edge. Management didn't seem over surprised or concerned. They offered me a free desert, but didn't accept as 1 piece of plastic was enough to put me off.

We arrived about 1pm and had planned for a quiet afternoon drinking with friends. One thing we like about the star is the spacious marquee with big tables - often full with families, groups of friends, and usually a few friendly dogs.We hadn’t been for while, but we’d recently restated out regular Sunday board game group. About 4pm, however, a group of about 15 started playing invasively loud folk music. Given we were midway through a game we could just move to one of the other areas (as some of the other customers did). We asked at the bar if this was a one off and he said it was pretty much every Sunday and that we weren’t the first to complain. It’s a shame as this will pretty much rule this out as a Sunday afternoon drinking venue. Maybe if they want to put this on, do it in the evening and put advertising up to warn people!

Disapointed to discover this has "temporarily" closed. Used to be our starting off pub when going out with mates in Beeston. Did have a good range of drinks on tap and plenty of space to sit or stand. Often had live music on a Saturday night as well. Had an "old school" pub feel about it - which may be why it has temp closed. had a beer garden out back and also a pool table area. Hope it re-opens soon.

Absolutely dreadful. Some silly sausage doesn’t understand that when I said a “plain doner meat and chips” that I wanted no salad and NO SAUCE. Got home the first time and had garlic mayo on it. Called back and was told to return to the shop and they’d replace it for me so I drove back and gave them my food to replace. Whilst they were preparing my replacement a woman started questioning me talking about “it doesn’t even smell very garlicy” to her. After I got my replacement I came back home and opened it to find it covered in mayonnaise so called the shop again. They said they’d replace it again so I drove back to the shop, AGAIN, and handed them the wrong order. Whilst they were replacing my food for the 2nd time 2 of the woman decided to try and berate me that I should’ve ordered it and said “no salad and no sauce” rather than just saying “can I have it plain” as apparently to them plain means plain mayonnaise. The man on the phone was very apologetic but I wasn’t offered any form of compensation nor even apology for such shocking service. And when I finally got home to eat my food I took 5 bites of my doner meat and felt sick due to the amount of grease that it was sat swimming around in. The chips weren’t cooked through properly so I bit into a soft chip to find raw potato in the middle of it. So just a quick warning don’t waste your money as after my experience I think I would’ve rather shared my dogs food than waste my time driving to the shop 3 times and then feeling sick after 5 mouthfuls. Absolutely shambolic.
