The Stags Head Inn Dunster in West Somerset

This is our 3rd year in a row holidaying in Dunster, with the Stags Head being one of the main reasons we return each year. To remember us and welcome us back so warmly is lovely. Had some great chats with Ringo and Nigel, who couldn't do enough for us - thank you so much! This year, we also enjoyed a lovely meal from their collaboration menu with Born Appetit on Easter Sunday and an incredible meal from their own menu. The food was quite possibly the best pub food we've ever eaten - absolutely delicious. We loved meeting Mika the border collie and the game Shut the Box entertained both the kids and adults. This place is a must visit for anyone visiting Dunster, or nearby. We only wished they had opened earlier in the day so we could have dropped in for a quick drink after one of our many walks. We had an really lovely time at the stags head. From the moment we walked in everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and we felt at home. Especially how they treated the children, we felt welcomed and relaxed. The food from the take away menu was delicious, we will definitely be back.

We didn't even eat or drink here but I came in with a query and the staff there were so welcoming and friendly. So much so, that I had to leave a review. Also, Mabel the dog, who seems to be a regular is adorable. ☺️

Bloody brilliant pub. Delightful staff give you a super friendly welcome and look after you really kindly, delicious food with all the details paid real attention to and extremely good prices. Can't recommend highly enough!

Staying in Dunster for a few days, we ate in The Stag's Head on the Friday eve. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Food was hearty and delicious. By far the best place we spent the evening over the three nights of our visit. We're just disappointed we found it on our last night before going home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Lovely Staff, good homemade food and selection of Exmoor beers and local ciders. We ate a couple of times here over a long weekend. The staff could not do enough for us. Thank you!

A cracking locally Pub that also attracts tourists that come to see this unique village. Dunster appears to be in two parts , this is in the part nearer there deer park. Welcoming staff, locals are friendly and the Landlord is really accommodating......yes, I will go out of my way to visit again...

The staff, the food, the atmosphere....if you want to be immersed in village life....this is the place to visit! We ate the Stags head burger...incredible...seriously good food. We revisited the next afternoon for a drink & what a pleasure it was to chat with the owner, his wife & staff. We were made to feel SO welcome. The Harry's still cider was DELICIOUS...it went down too well! This establishment is a seriously lovely place to visit...don't think twice about it...you will NOT be disappointed. Thanku again for making us feel so welcome🤎

Just visited this lovely pub for dinner. Staff were absolutely amazing and the food was first class. A really great place to eat or just a drink in a great atmosphere.

My friend and I visited the Stags back in June whilst on holiday in Dunster. The owners, bar staff and regulars were lovely and very welcoming. Great service, great atmosphere. This is the best pub I have ever been to -Katie

We visited whilst in Dunster on a Saturday evening. We received a very warm welcome, staff very friendly and helpful, and a lovely atmosphere. The food was superb, highly recommend the frickles! We will definitely return when we next visit Dunster.

Great pub. First time dining there and went for a Sunday roast. One of the best tasting roast beef’s I’ve ever had! Staff were polite and welcoming.

Fantastic Sunday roast - absolutely delicious! Great plate-full, good array of veggies, all perfectly cooked, meat lovely too! Fab cauliflower cheese too! Staff were super friendly & attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Landlady & lord also put the hard work in, and we’re welcoming & efficient. We will be back for sure, and heartily recommend this fabulous local business! Very reasonably priced too!

Great, cosy pub with friendly staff

Thank you to Ringo and the team for looking after us for my mums 75th Birthday meal, the small attention to details was lovely, Happy Birthday banner, card from the Stag Head team, the delivery of the cake so the whole pub joined in. Thank you so much. Mum had a lovely time and very much enjoyed the Belly Pork.

Stunning little pub, local beers on tap and friendly service to welcome us in

Wow, what a welcome! Very attentive, pleasant and bloody hard working couple. Came in at short notice. Welcomed, seated and served. Bit of a delay before food arrived but there was a local event on which made it very busy. All the time we were acknowledged from start to finish. Food was good and tasty and banter, and interpersonal skills of the couple in charge made a great first impression. Will be back on Sunday for your 1 year anniversary celebrations

Positive vibes from this establishment with great food and amazing atmosphere from all staff and customers in the community plus live bands and other entertainment every week. Well done 👏 to Jane and Nigel and all staff who work there as a team.

Fantastic Pub for live music and traditional Somerset cider

Janie and Nigel are superb hosts at this lovely traditional pub. They have recently opened up lovely rooms for accommodation, which makes the experience of being here even better. Great attention to detail and very comfortable, I can't recommend highly enough. The bar has a good selection of ales, beer, lager and other drinks. One speciality is the Dunster Gin, distilled literally a few doors away by a lovely chap called Spencer. Clearly mine host Nigel knows how to keep a good cellar, with tip top ales from local breweries, served perfectly. A warm and friendly welcome awaits you, so you will be totally relaxed. Excellent Beer, atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great little pub. Welcoming landlord and great food. Tried Korev lager which was really nice but the Dirty Fries with chicken tikka massala was delicious. Steak and alle le was very good as well.
