The Square Pub in Aberdeenshire

Superb food, beautiful fish and freshly cooked. The staff were extremely attentive. This restaurant is immaculate and has a wonderful atmosphere - very relaxing. We have visited a few times and consistently excellent.

I went with friends for lunch. The food was good and plenty to chose from. The staff were friendly. Easy access to Aberdeen as train station not far away. I will return.

Shame the chef forgot to put the cheeses in the mac n cheese. They even admitted theyonly used bechamel sauce & didnt put the cheese in to it. Not a complicated thin to do. It was not busy at this time either. So sad . They did not seem bothered about it either . 😕

Second time here as we took the kids & is certainly suited to having children also, good choice food wise & you can get drinks in small plastic cups which is perfect. Fish & chips (the kids fish was so big, great) Chicken fillets & chips (the fillets were a little greasy though). Only niggle is you don’t get any peas or beans or salad. I had the 2 for £10 or 3 for £15 so picked the battered prawns then hunters chicken & my husband had from the main menu Tempura Chicken Strips then the Vegetable Katsu Curry with a side of chicken. Delicious but my husband would of like more chicken. Pudding for the kids was ice cream, sauce & sprinkles & I expect your usual 3 scoops but they only got 1 & it was £3 each. Apple pie for me & sticky toffee pudding for my hubby. Good atmosphere, super friendly staff & owner & look forward to going back to sample some cocktails & more of the menu. Fab local place

Nice friendly staff. A choice of menu's from light bites to main menu. As a party of 3 and only another 2 people in for lunch at this time. We ordered drinks which was served quickly. We as a party of 3 the chicken fillets were a bit greasy. When it came to the macaroni cheese it had no taste to it al all. When it was sent back the manager/owner came to say the chef had only used the bechamel sauce and not added the cheese. I was offered another choice but declined. As this was our first visit it had not left a good impression. Yes we can all forget things but when the place was not busy you would expect youre food order to be spot on.
