The Spicy Greek in Rotherham

Best gyros this side of Athens! Juicy chicken with great marinade, and authentic chips added inside. Took me right back to Greece in the 80s and 90s. πολύ καλά

First time trying Spicy Greek on 24/2/24 been parked outside quite a few times for another shop and never been in but best margarita pizza i've ever had and not badly priced either would use again and friendly staff .

Great place. Great food. Makes a change from the usual take aways.

Visited on Saturday, Ordered a gyros and Pizza. Fantastic service and atmosphere and the food was amazing. I Definitely recommend and will be coming here again.

Went on Saturday night, great service and fantastic pizza at a reasonable price. The atmosphere was very friendly when placing the order and picking up the food. Will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Usually mint food but shocking tonite. Really dissapointed. This place is abit dearer than the avrage takeaway but I come here because the pizzas are usually worth the extra. Tonite iv got Greasy soggy pizza seems thinner than usual and usually come charred like a wood fired traditional pizza and tonite it’s thin soggy dough that looks under cooked .. or looks like the oven wasn’t at a high enough temp.. get the chef sacked and get back who ever you usally have making the pizzas.. I will be back as it could be a 1 off but if I get a pizza like this again I’ll be taking my custom else where, if the pizza is better next week I’ll remove this review and post a 5 star review to replace this 1. As I say could be a 1 off food is usually beaut from here

Phoned order through in advance gyros x2, mezzo box and Mexican pizza Asked for price and was told £39 - this was repeated twice. On collection price was £49 would not of minded if the food was good quality. Everything was over seasoned with salt and we didn't even get the salad on gyros or the mezzo box. Garlic mushrooms ordered as a side and they came as breaded no garlic mayonaise to accompany. Portion sizes are ridiculously small, however that didn't really matter as nobody ate their meal. Poor quality food and would not recommend. Go to the fish and chip shop next door

I love greek food, this is authentic and I can't believe it's in Rotherham. This place would make a killing if it was in London or anywhere else. Everyone must go here

First time visit after a glowing recommendation. Ordered at 3pm for a 6.30pm collection and it was sat there waiting for us upon arrival. Very flavoursome pizzas. All thoroughly enjoyed what we had and sampled a slice of each others. Initially thought that the fries were expensive for what they were but they went around the three of us adequately.

Really good value for money. Really friendly staff and atmosphere.

As a lover a Greek food, I thought this was extremely tasty and value for money

I love the food at this place but it’s never open, and the opening hours on here are never updated. Recommended this place to many friends, and they tell me every time they try to order its shut, you sure make it hard to be a customer 😕

First time trying this takeaway tonight. After reading the good reviews we thought we’d give it a try. Unfortunately didn’t meet our expectations, had gyros from other Greek restaurants but this one seemed to lack flavour, not much salad, little tzatziki and chips super soggy. Also i don’t recommend getting standard garlic bread it looked the part from first looking but it lacked any flavour whatsoever and couldn’t even eat this. I’m sad to write this review as I was really looking forward to it, but doesn’t compare to others I’ve tried.

Gorgeous kebabs and loaded fries

First time visiting here this evening. The food was absolutely lovely and fresh! Advised them of an allergy and they were very accommodating. Will definitely be back. Editing this review as I feel it needs updating. I now can't go a week without getting my Spicy Greek fix. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal and the food is just so fresh compared to most takeaways. The owner and his staff are incredibly polite, kind and welcoming. The only negative it that it's not open 24/7 😁

Wanted to try this place for a while, finally got there today. I had a chicken tikka gyros, wife had the Mediterranean chicken one. Both were well made, decent portion size, very tasty and well worth the drive.

Beautiful Greek cuisine with a real home cooked feel! Don't leave it too late though as they often run out of chicken.

Friendly family run take away & also owners of the fabulous Bay Tree Bistro. We have a diavola pizza almost on a weekly basis. Also had the greek pizza. The pizzas are consistently fantastic, tasty thin base & always piping hot. The staff are really friendly. Once ordered a Dominos pizza when spicy greek was closed, never again, very poor in comparison.

The food was tasty had the chicken tikka gyros which I found a little oily and by the time we got it home has made the bread soggy. I would definately go again but would stick to a traditional gyros next time

The Pizzas at the Spicy Greek are by far the best in the area! Freshly made dough in a proper stone bake oven. Everything on the menu is made with fresh ingredients and you can taste the difference. We travel across town past at least a dozen other pizza shops to get ours here!

First time ordering from here and wasnt disappointed. Big portions and cooked to perfection. I had the Mediterranean chicken meze box and it was huge. The salad was very fresh. Will defo be ordering again.

Flavours were great portions were plentiful very nice. Can recommend all the chicken choices also did a sweetcorn pizza for my grandaughter not on menu.

Pizzas are absolutely amazing!! I’m fact I’d say the best I’ve ever had from a takeaway!! I had the Greek pizza and it was just beautiful, yum yum yum. However, the gyro was not that great pretty average, could’ve got better from a regular kebab shop at a cheaper price with more meat and chips - plus is was barely warm.

Would recommend the wraps! Three types of marinated chicken and Greek salad. Pizzas were lovely! We often come here even though it’s a bit of a drive from where we live.

I often come here for a chicken wrap and pizza , its alway made fresh and tastes absolutely amazing, the wraos are crammed full if delicious chicken and salads of your choice. The pizza bases are made from scratch perfect thickness and packed with toppings. Owner of establishment is a lovely guy always friendly and talkative. Want good filling tasty food here is a must !!

Often come here for food, chicken salad boxes and chicken wraps are to die for!!! Yet to try a pizza although I’ve heard they are the best pizzas around!

It's hard to be justifiably critical of a venue you have visited three times in twelve months but here goes. My reasons for choosing the wraps here is they seemed very good value for money, quite big and with what appeared to be tasty fillings. To be honest they were a disappointment, not very tasty and a bit crude not rustic, crude. On my last and final visit I tried the piri piri. Chicken wrap ( the famous Greek dish) it was a bit greasy lacked flavour and worst of all cold, not warm cold. To be fair I haven't tried the pizzas from here or any of the salads on offer but if they resemble the wraps in any way then I haven't missed much. Hopefully my experience was a one off or three off and this place has something to offer that I don't know about.

We always get our takeaway food from The Spicy Greek. Pizzas are delicious, toppings are plentiful with lots of choice.

First visit, and really disappointed. Had high hopes with it being owned by the Bay Tree Cafe but there was nothing Greek about the chicken flat bread we ordered. It was tasteless and full of old salad which was brown and mushy. The Chicken had no flavour. The flat bread was just a very poor kebab. Much better kebab shops in and around Rotherham if that's what you want to eat. Expected the flat bread to greek inspired. Will not be back

He estado aquí varias veces, y siempre encontramos la comida excelente, hemos trabajado básicamente por el menú y encontrar el tamaño de las porciones son muy generosas. No he probado el menú de día, pero se espero asistir muy pronto para probar. El personal es muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, siempre sonriente. Recomiendo el picante griega para una velada muy agradable.

Fuimos una vez té Jueves compró dos de las envolturas de pollo con ensalada no podía creer lo barato que era, mientras yo estaba en que tenían una pizza en el horno de pizza parecía precioso, el personal era muy amable también

Have had takeaways from here loads of times , always good .Everything is cooked fresh and the pizzas are lush ( although if your dieting maybe skip them )The wraps are lovely and the chicken has so much flavour . Always get a Greek salad as a side , really generous portions so you can take some for lunch the next day .

Amazingly priced quality food. It is fast and it is fresh...Ignore reviews about people comparing this to Nandos and them being experts because they've jumped on the Peri peri bandwagon.It is perfectly adequate for what it is...I got the chicken tikka wrap with salad for 2.99 .... Can't complain!P.s the staff are too cute, adorable and so willing to talk and help with the menu. Sweet little family run venue! Recommended by a well travelled local :-)

Me and my partner are regular customers at the Spicy Greek and I've got to say we love it there! Not once have we ever been disappointed with the food or the service! Our favourites have got to be the pizzas and the flatbreads. My partner orders the 14"Greek speciality which has a real Greek taste to it; I have to steal some. Or sometimes he orders the Rustika which is a little more meaty and very full! I myself, order the tikka flatbread. This is not your regular tikka that you'd get from an Indian, it's juicy and succulent and really enjoyable. The flatbread itself is homemade (I found this out after he owner made mine fresh), crispy round the edges and fluffy in the middle. All salad is prepared fresh that day and the mint sauce is delicious! I can't fault this takeaway, and I know many of my friends and family also visit very often!

The pizzas are the best I've ever had. Iove the dough! They are amazing value as well, the large calzone is enough for two! Compared to the pizza chains spicy Greek is amazing!

I tried this deli/pizzeria recently and I was very disappointed as this type of food is my favourite treat.The piri piri flatbread was poor,the flatbread itself was dry and when I tried to fold it it snapped in two, the chicken was also very dry and didn’t contain enough spice or flavour for my palate.The salad was fresh and good and crunchy but so it should be.The chilli sauce that I ordered to go with some fries was really sharp and acidic and really made my eyes water,( akin to the extra hot chilli sauce you can buy at any wholesale store in the town)the fries themselves were like rubber as if they had been reheated?The menu has mouth watering Mediterranean choices but from my experience not very well executed.The same owner has a the Bay Tree Bistro around the corner which is getting rave reviews on Trip Advisor so I am some what bemused?
