The Writing Desk Tea Room in Rotherham

Our Wath-Upon-Deane WI ladies had a really good time today! We go out about once a month for breakfast, brunch. lunch, coffee and cake or whatever! We really enjoy our times out at we look for places that our members can eat what they want. Some have their main meal at lunchtime and some just what a snack- like lunch. This place is wonderful. Our gluten-free member was well supported ( prior notice needed). Thank you - you are amazing -we booked for 10 and only 8 were able to turn up -but was not a problem! We will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

We visited my Gran nearby and paid a visit for some lunch. Lovely little tea room with friendly and welcoming staff. All the food was really nice and we'll definitely be paying a visit again next time we're up this way.

no home made cakes in afternoon tea just shop bought ones surprisly enough I expected more would not go again

Nos encontramos para el especial de té por la tarde y estaba delicioso. La variedad de sándwiches era buena, me encantó el vidrio shot y la selección de bagatelas pasteles y pastas fue excelente. En general, fue bien vale la pena el precio (que me atrevería a decir que era muy barato en comparación con otros tés de la tarde).

Mi amigo reservó merienda para 15 mujeres como una sorpresa para su madre que era 80, era increíble, la comida era fantástica, el personal era muy dispuesto a complacer a todo el mundo y para satisfacer las necesidades específicas de la dieta. Todo era perfecto, incluso la molestia de dar los dones cumpleañera y una tarjeta especial. ¡Definitivamente volveremos de nuevo. Una vez más, gracias por hacer un especial 80 cumpleaños perfecto!!!!!

We visited the Writing Desk Tea Room with friends recently and decided to have Sunday Lunch while we were there. We received piping hot plates of roast beef ( very tender) with five veg, Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy all for a fiver unbelievable! Followed by home made pudding and custard. Excellent value, would definitely return if we are in the area, staff were warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxes, a very pleasant experience all round!

A 'must' if you like a log burning fire, good food, good company, and high standards of hygiene. I go every week to this lovely Tea Rooms. In the week Michael serves breakfasts, light lunches, afternoon cream teas, and special while on a Sunday you can get a full lunch for £4 including five veg and Yorkshire pudding!!! You are advised to book in advance though. Michael has a wonderful sense of humour and fun, and it is worth a visit just to be entertained by him, as well as sampling his cuisine. The tea rooms is set on the ground floor of the Lane Emporium, with its array of shabby chick and other wonderful furniture, both new and upcycled goods, handbags, clothes, trinkets, etc. The staff are lovely and the prices reasonable.

One of the Best Sunday Lunch's we have had for a long time, Good old style Sunday Dinner Cooking, None of this hypept up TV Chefs parifanalia. Choice of Beef or Chicken Yorkshire Pudding 5 Veg and nice Thick Gravy ALL for £4 Yes not a misstake £4. I would advise you to Book for Sunday Lunch, I am that confident that if you don't like it you I will pay for it
