Couldn’t recommend this place anymore than I can, amazing food and amazing service.

Visited on strength of reviews and did not disappoint, would recommend booking as lucky to get a table, service 5* followed by genuine flavoursome food, large portions so order wisely. Definitely the place of choice

We have visited this place many times with our family for meals, and once again, we were very pleased with our experience! The food was wonderfully fresh and flavorful. The service at the restaurant was top-notch—our table was promptly cleared, and our water glasses were always filled without having to ask. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Great evening. Our waiter was fantastic - made us feel at home and kept us in the loop. The food was delicious, and all the staff were super friendly. I'd say it's good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Visited on Friday night with friends and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot. Lovely food with great atmosphere and such friendly staff.

The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tables were nicely spaced, allowing for comfortable conversation. The walls were decorated with colorful tapestries depicting Indian scenes, adding a touch of cultural flair. Service: Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They patiently explained the different Paneer dishes and was happy to accommodate our request for a specially prepared Indo-Chinese Manchurian starter. Food: Paneer Kadahi: I opted for the Paneer kadahi, a classic dish featuring cubes of soft paneer cheese simmered in a rich tomato,onion & butter gravy. The paneer was perfectly cooked, with a delightful texture that was both melt-in-your-mouth and slightly firm. The kadahi curry was bursting with flavor, a harmonious blend of all spices. It was served with a cheese chilli garlic naan, the perfect accompaniments for soaking up the delicious curry. Indo-Chinese Manchurian: We also tried the specially made on our request Indo-Chinese Manchurian. This dish featured a medley of colorful vegetables, including cauliflower, carrots, and green peppers, all coated in a light and flavorful sauce. The sauce had a delightful tanginess that was balanced with a Umami Taste. Overall Impression: This restaurant was a delightful discovery. The food was flavorful and beautifully presented, and the service was excellent. The willingness of the staff to accommodate our request for a special dish further enhanced the experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience near Belfast.

I have been eating out of this restaurant for a few months now and thought it was absolutely delicious. The food was in good shape and looked splendid. Tonight, I ordered out of here and was eating my dinner until I found an electrical cable in my dinner! I am absolutely fuming! I rang the restaurant to tell them what I had found and they were no help at all. The customer service out of this place is absolutely disgraceful, no help whatsoever and not even a refund! All I can imagine is what if I had ate the electrical cable? I wouldn't be writing this right now because I would've been hospitalised or even worse... Never again am I ordering out of this disgusting restaurant!

Good not as good as what it used to be, be a while before I order again, that’s if I do Give it another go last night, I’ll be going to Indian Ocean from now on, not be wasting my money again, too expensive to be doing that. I’d phoned before asking if the chef had changed, was told no, but there’s no way that can be the same chef cause the food is nowhere near as good

Thought it was a taster evening, but it was a buffet style with their most popular dishes. All very tasty but disappointed it was not just a wee taster. Was worth the money Portion still large but very tasty. Staff great.

Would like to see sides able to be added with main dishes for a meal deal rather than having to pay full price asap an add on. Food is good. I’ve asked for an extra with something and it’s been fine no extra charge! Great service to get a returning customer! Always sort an issues promptly too.

Ordered off Just Eat and specified that we didn’t want any veg in one of our dishes but the food came filled with onion. When we called, they sent another dish straight away, however the replacement was also filled with onion. When we called the second time we were told they can’t take the onion out as everything comes to them pre-made and the only dish without onion is the curry. Still waiting on our refund.

A family get-together which was well appreciated by all. The servers were patient and attentive. I ate the lamb bhuna and found the meat tender and the heat level to be just perfect.

We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed at all! The decor is quite good to start with. Service has been quick and friendly. I must also mention that the food quality and tastes were excellent for each items we tried. I would definitely recommend. We had seafood platter, chicken chettinad and cheese garlic naan along with a few drinks.

Tikka masala is delicious once you manage to find the chicken in the sauce;)

had the pleasure of being invited to The Spice Merchant, Whiteabbey for a pre launch of there new Takeaway in Eden Carrickfergus. Met the front of house staff and kitchen Staff, and everyone was more than welcoming. food was 1st class, tasty and very well presented all in an relaxed atmosphere. will definitely be back to this restaurant aswell as there new Takeaway in Eden , just outside Carrickfergus.

Terrible experience. Arrived and seated promptly which is the only plus here tonight. We order drinks which was a pint and a cocktail. After 10 minutes the waiter came back to tell me they couldn’t do the cocktail I’d asked for, so I order another, after a further 10 minutes waiter came back again said he couldn’t do that either and I ordered a different one again. We were still seated after 30minutes with menus infront of us and no food order taken yet only 4 other tables in the restaurant and my partner hadn’t gotten his pint yet for the waiter to return again and say they couldn’t do that cocktail either. This left us with no faith after having sat half an hour hungry with no drinks and no food even order. We just left and didn’t bother. Don’t think we will hurry back.

The food was good, the window bubble lighting was cool

We have never had a bad meal the staff are lovely. So delicious the food is expensive, but at the moment where is not. Everything I have tried and people I have been with have enjoyed everything they have tried. I look forward to going back in the new year. You also have the choice of sitting in or taking away. Which is great if they are busy.

Just moved to the area and was looking to find a new Indian restaurant that will become my regular, everything was amazing. Food was tasty and absolutely killed me off, 5 stars to the staff making sure everything was OK, service was top notch. Will be back 100%!

It was difficult to choose among all the fantastic eateries because they are all so amazing! Our first time ordering, and it was incredibly simple. We can't wait to place more orders in the future because the meal was delivered perfectly! It's entertaining to watch it when traveling.

Very clean outlet great location with easy parking on the other side of the street. The restaurant itself is hugely over priced in my opinion, Butter Chicken at 27 pounds is simply ridiculous and when you get 6 or 7 pieces of chicken then you are really getting robbed.

The Spice Merchant is our go to Indian restaurant in the Newtownabbey area. Food is always good as is service. The menu is extensive so I always try something different and I'm never disappointed. The Lamb Shank Hyderabadi is a favourite of mine. It's a bit more expensive than normal but worth it!

Great service, also drinks were amazing, this place is such a vibe and the ambience was really good.

Been told on two occasions now that the staff do not receive card-paid tips, and upon being offered cash they shudder and reject in fear of the owner. Avoid.

Very nice Indian food, wide choice of dishes including vegetarian also kids menu great drinks selection wines beers and cocktails at reasonable prices. Staff friendly and attentive and restaurant itself was very nicely decorated

Absolutely amazing food. The Spice Merchant definitely recommend for special survice.

Went here with a few friends and found that there's absolutely no customisation allowed, the kids meals were also not mild. The Also that the last order is taken at 21:45 and the restaurant closes at 22:00 so you get 15 mins to finish it. Different people may have different experiences but mine wasn't pleasing as it was average food and staff politeness was masked by condesence. So, if you're wanting to try it for your own experience then my review shouldn't be deterrent.
