The Society Room in Glasgow City

Can't believe the value this place offers. This sits in Glasgow City centre so you would expect high prices. Not here food was good 2 main courses and drinks £27. We had sirloin steak and mixed grill. In glasgow you would pay £27 just for a steak. Superb value and friendly service ...... 😎

Don't be fooled by the prices, the food isn't good at all. It's better to pay a little more and eat deliciously.

Too big,unbearably noisy and usual multiple flights of steps to toilets downstairs.Useless for elderly or people with mobility problems.Must be largest of 8 city wetherspoons. Menus drinks and prices never vary and are just clones of each other. I suppose its good value for those who appreciate it. Some German tourist friends i was with wanted to sit in for a while to drink GUINNESS.😳Didnt stay long due to room buzz.

Visitado a media tarde para una bebida tranquila, todo como era de esperar, Wetherspoons típicos, ocupado, buenos precios, gran espacio, muchos asientos y un gran ambiente para una purga. Dejó para ir a cenar a otro lugar y regresó más tarde por la noche para una copa. El lugar estaba saltando... ¡literalmente! La iluminación había cambiado, había un dj tocando música pop y una pista de baile con gente bailando. ¡Nunca he estado en un Wetherspoons como él! No es lo que esperábamos y tener un 'blether' sin duda salió por la ventana! Sin embargo, disfrutamos, buenas canciones, ambiente divertido y buen personal de seguridad.

Paul era excelente inesperadamente muy amable y servicial de una manera que nunca he visto en más de una década de beber en varias cucharas, todo era normal para un bar pub Wetherspoon la forma ejemplar en que trata a los coustmers, me trató de la misma manera que esperaría en un restaurante de estrella Michelin gran empleado

Good fun pub. Quiet on weekdays, but they have tunes and lights on Friday and Saturday nights. Great before a night out.

It's a Wetherspoons so you know what you are getting. It's clean and prompt service but has the vibe of a canteen in a department store

Glasgow fue embestido este fin de semana y en todas partes estaba lleno, pero logró conseguir una pequeña mesa para mí y mi familia. No ha cambiado mucho y sigue siendo una muy buena cuchara. Una cosa que sí sobresalió es que el personal lo ejecuta como un borracho de la vieja escuela en que saben quién es el próximo en ser atendido en lugar de esta práctica ridícula que otros pubs parecen haber adoptado al hacer cola en una fila como si todavía estuviéramos en una pandemia de Covid! Bien hecho SR. Todavía muy buen Guinness y un gran Sov Blonk para la señora. 19 ! ! ! ! No puedo discutir con eso. Vivimos en Guernsey y es más que eso solo por el vino! Y a pesar de que era chockers, el personal se apresuró a servir. Otro pulgar arriba para la Sala de la Sociedad. Siempre seré mi bebedor cuando salgamos a Glasgow.

Large pub just up from main rail station. Got table easily. Food up to normal standards, and good value.

The best thing about the place is you get to hear music instead of the normal weatherspoon innate chatter

This was an exciting pub for drinking, with a well laid out interior held up by red pillars! The walls are nicely lined up and the fluorescent light is a solid touch, counter is well-presented too. Music being played into the evening boosts the atmosphere and seating is comfy, where I had a fresh pint of Angelo Poretti!

cute. Normal prices, there are a lot of people, the food is reasonable. There are unique types of beer.

Popped in a couple of times for a pint as it was handy for hotel. Did not have food. Felt comfortable relaxed and friendly. Would go back next visit to Glasgow.

Actually a really good spoons, the only spoons in Scotland with a DJ apparently? But I definitely had a good night here.

Busy enough, but not overcrowded. Good bar service, place is clean, typical Wetherspoons prices... I just feel that this place needs that "special something" to make it stand out more.

AVOID!! We paid £22 for a breakfast that was awful. Toast was black on one side and the other looked like bread that hadn't been touched. The young woman who served us was stoney faced, very unpleasant and aloof. It was obviously she couldn't be bothered dealing with her customers in a polite manner. We got someone elses order and although we made light of it you'd have thought it was our fault by her frosty reply to my husband. This young womans behavior has put us off going into The Society Room in West George St from now on.

Really not my choice of places but as time was running out ended in for breakfast. Decent quality and value. Service good.

This pub can get a bit noisy at peak times, there is plenty of room and service is quick on even busy times. Opens early so catching a early coffee or breakfast in the city centre is easy.

Bar is located in Glasgow city centre. close to all modes of transport. It gets busy around lunchtime and early evening. We had the 8 oz sirloin steaks, and they tasted as good as they looked. Prices for alcohol are very competitive for a city bar. Would recommend the shots plenty of choice for all tastes

Went in for a laugh and it actually turned out pretty fun. Music was surprisingly entertaining - the kind of thing that used to get played at school discos.

Sorry don't want to go into great detail but haven't been off the toilet pan since yesterday and it was the only thing I had eating, never again was terrible cooked and have diarrhoea and sickness to the maximum with there large breakfast. Staff lady was lovely but food never ever again basically food poisoning.

Sunday afternoon staff was not very helpful when looking for a larger table for my family, and I sent the wrong order to the table, but no apologies. Also, very small portions , food just OK would not rush back

I ordered a meal but no food was given to me. The address and table number were correct. I asked three staff members and they all said they couldn't solve it and they didn't know how to solve it.

Steak club Tuesday. My routine - to visit some Wetherspoon for a mix grill😋 Staff super friendly, fast service trough their app, nice atmosphere and vibe.

I ordered a festive pizza and it was gooey and tasteless. No one came up to check with us if our lunch was ok. Halloumi fries did not taste as a restaurant made meal either. The whole thing tasted worse than my supermarket bought chicken nuggets and fries. Weather spoons is going downhill again food wise.

Love this place! Spoons was one of the first to do app ordering and they do it the best. Never any mistakes, food comes quickly and they have such lovely staff here. Obviously the toilets are well far away up the stairs but that's the charm of Spoons!

Very clean and welcoming. Unfortunately there was an issue in the kitchen. Contractors were working to get it back up & running but I could not try the food there. Would like to go back.

Never again, myself and my husband go to curry club quite often so we decided to go to society rooms on Halloween . We ordered 2 chicken tikka masala when it came the poppadoms were swimming in grease the nan bread was cold and soggy and the rice was cold along with cold curry, I pointed this out to the server and she said I will get you another meal. Same happened again poppadoms swimming in grease, cold rice 🤦 . The person that made this couldn't have been a chef to send food out in this way. If he is a qualified chef he should be ashamed of himself after all he's not making it from scratch they are pre made all he needs to do is heat it up 🤦. PS have your oil hot and you shouldn't get poppadoms swimming in grease, definitely won't be back there for curry night 😡.

El personal más rudo que he conocido. A uno de los nuestros le dijeron que estaban bloqueando un pasillo hablando con alguien. Se llevó la comida antes de que se terminara. Cuando intentamos quejarnos, el gerente nos dijo que no iba a escuchar nada de lo que teníamos que decir. Nos abordaron 2 miembros groseros del personal cuando nos íbamos y nos dijeron que nos prohibieron. Debimos gastar alrededor de 350 libras en el lugar, no les daría otro centavo. Mucho mejores lugares para estar en Glasgow id aconsejado u ir a cualquier otro lugar

The usual good mix of decent food and well priced drinks including many guest ales. Only thing was on the Saturday evening we visited they cranked the music up and it’s a bit too loud to talk.

It's a weatherspoons so it really isn't anything other than ok but the atmosphere was uncanny.

Always busy so feels like a good atmosphere, good place to meet and catch up in town. Prices are always good as you expect. Food is never amazing but always good for what you pay.

Member of staff was very rude to my friend and practically threw the food on the table 🙄 Another friend spoke to management about her behaviour,in the wrong job if she doesn't like dealing with the public.⁹ And I shd know as I work with the public also!

They know how to fry a runny egg for their muffins. Sadly a large group of very loud drunk laughing winos (at 11am) ruined any atmosphere in the place. A quiet word from management might have helped..

This is a really nice place located in a nice part of Glasgow.

JD wetherspoon is soo bad that it is not funny anymore. Got a steak (the upgraded one - do not remember the same)- 15 or 16 pounds. Small, overcooked, about half of it could be eaten, the rest was fatty parts and chewables. No more JDW attempts from now on, it is just too bad.

Great large space if you've got a large party. Cheap drink, great service. Grab a table if your stating as they go quick.

The lighting and music become club-like on a Saturday night I was there, good upbeat pop remixes and area to dance. It does get busy and tables might be limited, but lots of space to stand.
