The food is fantastic, you're guaranteed to enjoy whatever you order. There is a great atmosphere, and the staff are super friendly. The restaurant is always bustling which is great to see. The outdoor space is great if you are looking for a more chilled vibe.

A very good experience, albeit paying London prices. A beautiful setting, especially when sunny, the back of the delightfully decorated restaurant opens onto open land, outside seating available. Having been warmly welcomed we chose a house red(Turkish) it was good We were then given complementary pitta bread with yoghurt and a nice spicy tomato dip 3starters were mitite kofte(meatballs) that was excellent and two x filo pastry prawn (good) Mains:, 2 x mixed shish (£23 p/p) & 2 x lamb shish with yogurt (£25 pp) All cooked to perfection good portion and superb tasting meat Dessert: 2 x homemade baklava with scoop of ice cream, Torta Rocher served with a scoop of ice cream And lemon & mascapone cheesecake with no ice cream! 😒 Tables were cleaned after main meal👍 The place is large and for a Friday very busy Good size carpark and on our night when we left live entertainment was supplied in bar area Service:generally very good, friendly, although we were not ask during meal if all was ok, (was on collection of plates) And ladies wine was topped up, I've given 5🌟 but a 4.5 would be fair. Definitely one for a return visit

Every time I have eaten here, I have been very happy with the service and also the quality of the food.

This was our first time at The Mesken. I booked online leaving a note that it was my partners birthday. When we arrived we were greeted and brought to our table, our waitress was attentive and lovely but not pushy at all, I did think from how busy the restaurant was that food might take a while, and I was not expecting them to have seen and taken notice of my note on the booking. The food came very promptly, it was fresh off the coals and came perfectly cooked at the same time. The centre was succulent and juicy and the outside perfectly scorched. I had the scallops and octopus, my partner had the lambs liver and mixed grill. This is hands down the best Turkish food we’ve ever had, and we’ve been to a lot of very good restaurants. The portions were very generous too and we struggled to finish. After we finished our dessert we heard some music come on and clapping, I realised it was for my partner as they brought up a baklava with a candle inside singing happy birthday. This place was so busy and every table was full but they still checked and read my note and made an effort for my partner. The service we experienced at this place was impeccable. We were never left waiting, but we didn’t feel pushed or harassed either. Even as they took away plates they immediately wiped down the table so we weren’t sitting on a dirty table. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. I’m so glad we chose this restaurant! We will most definitely come again!

The decor is great, the food is great, but, the service is poor. Leaning across people to clear plates, clearing stuff away while people are still eating and clearly no training in quality service. I would also suggest that staff don’t serve customers after going for a quick smoke. You smell terrible to non smokers. This is supposed to be a quality restaurant in an affluent area. The staff definitely need to be trained. We won’t be returning.

The food is very good and everything you'd expect from a good Turkish but my reviews goes downhill because when having lunch do I want music blearing so loud I can't hear myself think? No Do I want a load of drunk 40 year old women cackling and dancing round my table while I eat my chicken shish and making a show of themselves? No Do I want full grown women fighting like a bunch of alley cats? No Unfortunately this is what happened, the toilet was left in a disgusting state by a bunch of bottomless brunch women that couldn't behave, they had a huge brawl and the whole experience was awful, couldn't wait to get out of there - Tacky, chav, déclassé

The black lady on the reception desk was lovely and one of the waiters was fine but my waitress was very peremptory and brisk and hovered around at one point for no good reason. Food (mixed kebab) wasn't brilliant except for the salmon. Very over-priced. I would give it a miss

I had dinner here with a group of friends for my sister in laws birthday. The food was okay traditional turkish food. Nothing special. The thing that made our dinner unpleasant was the attitude of the staff. I dont think we received one smile from any of the staff there. Even when our friends were joining our table we caught the waitress giving them the side eye. I arrived early with my sister in law and we waited 30 minutes for 2 mocktails. No one came to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything else. Even asking for simple tap water took 20+ mins. I think the restaurant decor and atmosphere is actually very beautiful. Its a shame that the attitude of the staff let it down.

The food is nice enough and the staff are good, but the prices are ridiculous! £9.50 for a single small mushroom and two small pieces of halloumi! I asked the waitresses if they thought that was ridiculous and they looked embarrassed and said usually at least the mushroom is a little bigger. How else could they react?! Huge mark up on all other food too for what it was. I've had better value for money in London restaurants. Just paid the best part of £50 for two slices of halloumi, one small mushroom, half an avocado on top of lettuce, a small portion of hummus, some ice cream and one alcoholic drink! No exaggeration. Won't be returning! Really disappointed.

We asked Mercy and the team if they would host my husbands celebration of life after his funeral, as we had spent many happy family meals there. They were brilliant and very supportive. On the day, the food was amazing, the staff were so quietly efficient, and they really cared that everyone was happy. Many guests commented how good it was. A huge thank you from me and my family for making the day.

Absolutely incredible food every time we have eaten here, even on their busiest days. The lamb cutlets are drool worthy and the Shish is moist and tender. Everything is flavoured to perfection. The service is excellent and always given a personal touch. Today our waiter Tony went above and beyond to make my birthday dinner special and all staff are polite and welcoming. Thank you Tony!

Lovely to eat in the fabulous garden cabins when the weather is fine. Sharing platters are an excellent options for groups.

Great restaurant and bar. Food is always great here and very nice atmosphere. Love it even more in the summers, it has a great outdoors area that allows dogs so great for a relaxed lunch after walks.

Had the most wonderful night, from the moment we walked in and was shown to our table by the lovely lady, very attentive and lovely staff throughout. Food was delicious. Bubbles flowed so well. The whole atmosphere was amazingly vibrant. We proceeded to the bar after our meal and was site at a lovely table, listening to a brilliant singer who certainly got the crowd happy. Thank you for a lovely experience as always. We look forward returning back.

Great restaurant - we had the one course chicken kebab very good. Attentive service too. Have been here a few times and never had a bad meal.

A wonderful experience at the Mesken. Mercy, on front desk was attentive and professional at all times. She made our party special. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious. The bar staff were very knowledgable on their drinks, nothing was too much effort. The singer was amazing and interactive that created a wonderful atmosphere I would highly recommend having your special occasion at The Mesken Bar and Grill, you will be amazed😃

First time Dining here we set up a secret meal to celebrate our mums 53rd birthday here the place was spectacular very spacious great decor inside rustic feel with very nice touches wine racks and great detailed sealings and wall art and outside small touches like what can only be described as glitter in the bricks so as the cars pull out of the car park they sparkle a spacious smoking area also. We ordered a mixed range of starters from octopus to prawns to goats cheese and calamari the thing that stood out to me the most was the prawns in tomato based sauce great flaivour in the prawns but also in the sauce big big compliments to the chef I know it's a basic thing but once this is done properly and right ingredients come together it's spectacular. Moving on to the mains for me I always order Lamb as this is my way of telling a great restaurant from a exceptional restaurant again did not disappoint the lamb was fresh well seasoned and juicy great shish and lamb chop but star of the meal for me was the kofta such great taste of fresh lamb little bit of char colour and herbs in the mix was OUTSTANDING can't praise the quality of the lamb enough welldone to the chef and owner for selecting such great meat The others also had mixed grill and creamy chicken I tryed the creamy chicken tasted great presentation was very unique and even down to the mushrooms the earthy fresh flaivour was mouth watering . Was time for desert we was quite full but we ordered anyways to share apple pie and creme brulee Great flaivour in the apple pie with big chuncks of apple inside nice aromatic spices used inside For me creme brulee was the one it's such a simple desert but once you have a really nice one you will always compare to the mediocre ones . In conclusion great first experience set the bar high and will definitely come back again Superb atmosphere and ambiance with very professional and friendly staff . A place for me to say to everyone please try it and support a great establishment that is well put together along with superb food you will not be disappointed in coming here . Once again big thanks to the chef for the exceptional food and thankyou to the owner for selecting such great meat

We had a great night atmosphere was electric entertainment was great food was quite poor & after eating four of the lamb ribs l ended up rushing to the toilet to throw my starter & everything else back up 😞drinks are overpriced & on top of this we were hit with a service charge of £95 Read the small print guys will not be going back for a Christmas staff do there again .

So it was very very loud. That might be due to it being Christmas. What I would say though was that it was quite expensive for the quality of food, it was ok but I have had better for less.

We had a great time at Mesken in Hutton for our Christmas work do! As always the food, service & atmosphere was exceptional! Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff there. From ease of booking to service on the night everything was perfect! We are regulars here and highly recommend for larger functions, get together with friends or indeed date night!

Came here for a friend's birthday meal, lovely time, very upmarket and posh, parking was limited I was ushered into a tiny space so bare that in mind. Meal and service was great, fast but not rushed. The lamb was the most tender I've ever had in my life ! Only criticism would be the rice portion was very small & they dont sell bulgar at all which i thought was slightly strange... The drinks were very expensive but I understand you're paying for the environment. Would recommend for a special occasion!!

We tried this autumn to book a garden pod for several people as we booked one several times during the pandemic but were told that they don't have them anymore. What a shame, they looked great and offered a private dinning experience outdoors.They could have at least kept one.

Ate here on a Tuesday evening as a party of four at 7pm. At this time of the week, the restaurant was relatively quiet (maybe 12-15 tables in use). Service was prompt and attentive. Food was excellent and a sensible portion size. We ended up with empty plates unlike some Turkish restaurants which can serve too much rice and salad. I had the "Mixed lamb" from the grill and all three of my portions of lamb (chop, lamb shish and Adana Kofte) were excellent and served with rice and salad for £27 Small basket of breads and dips were complimentary whilst waiting for the main courses. Desserts were typically £7-£9 and coffees about £4. Neither were particularly large. Drinks were relatively expensive - £3.50 for a small coke; £3 for a spring water; The hosts are also keep to offer you the opportunity for a drink in the bar before the meal. I was surprised at how many other guests were drinking cocktails as these were not cheap either, Be aware a 12.5% Service Charge is added to your bill. Would happily return for a special occasion rather than an ad hoc meal at these prices.

Love this restaurant. The servers couldn't be any better, nor could the food - both taste and presentation. Great restaurant all round - even the authentic decor. Very popular which is a good sign. Lovely garden for the good weather too. Mid-week you can use the lunch menu - 2 courses for £16.90 - very good value for such a lovely restaurant and still a great deal of choice. Caters well with vegetarians. Second visit and look forward to returning.

Sadly has gone down hill, portions are getting smaller and smaller.

Food was good as was service but it’s expensive for what it is. Sadly my lamb was very fatty but chicken was good. It’s noisy and so probably wouldn’t come here again as atmosphere was more young parties. Turkish music would’ve been nice

Their food is of much higher quality and flavour than the Doddinghurst eatery that won’t be named. Yet equal to the Fat Turk. So glad this is on our doorstep.

Had heard good things about this place from friends so decided to give it a go. Arrived and was shown to our seats, one of the party had to quickly nip to the loo and whilst there was clearly one seat missing staff tried to take our order. Having just arrived back at the table, literally 30 seconds later staff returned to take orders. Not the end of the world but felt very very rushed. We proceeded to order our starters and mains. After ordering we were given complimentary breads which was nice and then 2 minutes later our starters arrived, staff taking the plates away which still had bread on them! Starters were nice enough as were the mains but extremely overpriced… bill came to nearly £300 for 4 people which included a 12.5% service charge, which as mentioned above was not great and felt very rushed. Mixed grill for £30 was very steep considering what it was.. will not return and would not recommend

Our first visit with my children who are very young, the staff members are so friendly and accommodating, food was delicious, atmosphere really good. All the staff joked with my kids which made them really happy, my kids left the restaurant high fiving the staff. Thank you Mesken, we will be back soon

My wife and I were part of a party booking (a large party) made in advance. The service was very good, the food delicious. I can't comment on the normal prices as we had a group booking, but we would definitely recommend this restaurant for quality and service.

The staff were all so attentive and offered wonderful service. They were so accommodating of my 10 month old baby and never made us feel a nuisance, even tho he made a bit of a mess! Food was amazing too, will definitely be back.

I have been there afew times, And every time I go its the same. BRILLIANT. FOOD, STAFF, AND ATMOSPHERE. SECOND TO NONE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

We came here for a meal on Saturday as a group of 12 people for a pre-wedding dinner. Everyone at the table had a main meal, three people had desserts, and everyone was drinking alcohol including cocktails, beer and also wine/prosecco. The food itself was really lovely and cannot fault it, but the service was AWFUL. Firstly when we ordered drinks before our meal orders were taken, the man who served us looked at his watch as if like trying to get us on and off of our table as quick as possible. Nearly every time we ordered drinks, at least one of them was forgot, and when you would bring this to the servers attention they acted like we hadn't actually ordered that drink. The staff were just very rude and basically made us feel very unwelcome, and this really ruined our night, as we had come out to have some food and a few drinks to for people to meet to break the ice pre-wedding.

Food was delicious, service was personal and friendly. Atmosphere was good, the singer and the music was entertaining and created a good atmosphere. Only negative was the row of party tables were tight, it was sometimes a struggle to get in and out, apart from that a nice evening.

Always love coming here for dinner as it is a great environment, atmosphere and the food is always brilliant. The service and waiters/waitresses are always friendly and attentive. The food it always great and good value for money. The cocktails are always well presented with great options. The only suggestion I would make is the music that is played as I don't feel this suits the restaurant. The music is always pop music and it feels that the restaurant doesn't match this- I think the music should reflect the type of restaurant that it is. Otherwise one of my favourite restaurants to come to.
