Essex Grill 5 in Brentwood

Food is normally so good but tonight wasn't amazing.. also 2nd time in a row I've ordered 2 cans of drink and only been given 1 can and ordered a pot of burger sauce was given ketchup apart from that delivery times are always kept to.

After 40 mins late I called to chase. I was told 5 to 10 mins. 30 minutes later still no food. Never ordering again from this place

The food I order online, is never the food I receive. Always items missing because they can't read what I placed. But what you do get is banging!!!

Waited over 1hr and 40mins for my food. Told after 50mins it was out for delivery, then when called back 30mins later it hadn't even been cooked. Was just greatful we were paying cash 🤬🤬

Ordered food on the app for delivery last night at 9pm. App said delivery would be at 10.19 so even though this was 1hr and 19 mins I decided to percevere. Food was still not delivered at 10.45 so I gave up and went to bed. Shocking is all I have to say for a new business in town and just a few minutes away too.

The woman who brings the food here is just awful face like a slapped butt and so rude and gets nasty if she doesn’t get a tip seriously no need for it food is nice though mostly when the right order turns up they’ve gone down hill lately get rid of the woman who brings the food and the kids working in the shop and things will improve

Used to be really good, and was our Thursday / Friday night treat. Now it seems to ruin our night, can't get the orders right. Tiny kebab when ordered a large, countless phone calls if you can get through and then you get all excuses. Delivery driver who is threatening and rude, when its not your fault that they have left half the food back at the restaurant. Always something missing, so you have to ring up. Food is always a long time, so get ready for a long wait. I wouldn't order from here again, we have given them lits of chances to sort this and it's the same everytime. It's a shame that our favourite kebab place has gone this way.

After a disastrous evening at a local restaurant, which we had booked for Valentine's day, we ended up leaving after almost 2 hours waiting for food and going to Essex Grill, in Hutton on the way home. We called 10 minutes before closing, and the lovely staff made sure we got our order, even though it was just after closing time. On our way home, we had actually left the chips there and I got a phone call to let us know, they made sure they delivered the chips to our door really quickly and apologised. We were really impressed with the customer service and the food was incredible. A huge thank you to the staff at Essex Grill, we ended up having a great valentine's night, despite the rubbish start at the restaurant.

Ordered combination kebabs, it took forever to arrive-when called shop I was accused of telling them the wrong address, and was spoken to so rudely. ( I think I know where I live!) We ordered a combination kebab, and the meat was dry and a was very small portion despite paying a fortune for it. The staff are so so rude-don’t waste your hard earnt cash.

Unclear website, lack of initiative and serves raw food EDIT: Threatens to court When ordering online, turns out when you choose a burger you have to reselect toppings individually despite them being mentioned as part of the burger on the menu. When the chef received the order, he did not take the initiative to phone me to check whether I wanted the fillet burger and a doner burger with cheese (which costs extra) or two buns with plain meat. I phoned them to let them know of this miscommunication so they said they would deliver the toppings, they came back again and gave me two pots of mayonaise and a box of salad, no mushrooms, cheese, or burger sauce like it was meant to have as mentioned in the menu. So now I'm left with two meat buns and trying to build something half decent with a box of salad and mayonnaise. I also ordered some onion rings, they came undercooked and the dough surrounding the onion is raw, mushy and sticky. I called them again after finding this and said they said that it is cooked and that they know what they are doing. I myself make homemade fried food frequently and I can tell the difference between raw dough and what is cooked. Interpret that as you will. Due to them being stubborn I am not able to get a refund and the best I can do is leave this review and never go there again. EDIT: half an hour later they changed their minds about the onion rings and gave me a refund but only for the onion rings, the rest of the money they kept. EDIT: Now they just called me and threatened to take me to court for writing a false review.

Best kebab shop in the round Essex

Very chewy/ grissly meat & took double the time to prepare order food vs what I was told on the phone. It meant I had to stand there for an additional 15 mins with no one else waiting. Seem very slow at preparing orders...... I definitely won't be going back as have enjoyed much better quality kebabs locally.

New to the area and as a new customer i must say, great service, great food. Both shop and delivery staff were very friendly, order was spot on and food was lovely.

Incredible hidden gem. Small shop but dont be deceived. I had an amazing kebab honestly one on my best ever and it was all down to the traditional cooking methods, charcoal. A superb job, I look forward to visiting again soon.

First time ordering tonight I’m in Billericay so wasn’t sure if they was too far away for our food to arrive hot seeing as this shop Is in Brentwood BUT it did and was beautiful tasty fresh hot chicken and chips went down perfectly that’s for sure and the delivery driver was so polite , overall a very positive experience I’ll be ordering again that’s for sure and telling my friends and family what a little gem I have found top Marks to the guys at Essex grill 5

We order from Essex grill almost every week and we have to say they make the best grilled shish we have ever had. It really is perfect. The owner and staff are very polite and accomodating. Any issues with our order is quickly resolved and they really go out of their way to ensure that we are happy. We truly appreciate the customer service and excellent food. Thank you very much, it is so nice not to feel like we have wasted yet more money on a takeaway. We will definitely recommend you always and will continue to use you from now on .

We travel from another town to get food from this kebab shop even though there’s one Much closer to my house the staff are friendly and the food is out of this world and is always fresh and plentiful if you want great food I would highly recommend to eat here

the best, i ordered a chicken shish and lamb donner expecting mediocre stuff like local establishments. What a sursprise ! The only disappointments was the expression on my jack russell terrirers faces when they lost out on the big feast(i still gave them loads of meat..., just not as much as usual) ! Five Stars, well earned !

Just had the most disgusting takeaway from this place. Had a kofte wrap that was full of gristle. Rude manager who called us liars and has now blacklisted us. Avoid this place and spend youre money elsewhere

Been living in this area from ages,,,,have tried so many kebab shops and turkish restaurant but ESSEX GRILL 5 got really lovely kebabs..me and my family tried there Chef Special when they frist opened as it was Half Price...and its been two months we have become there regular customer...food is exceptionally GREAT and the staff is also very polite and friendly....5 STAR definitely will recommend others...
