The Shack in Dumfries & Galloway

This place serves THE BEST BURGERS EVER!! Over the past 2 decades my hubby and I have set out to find the best burgers anywhere. Independent places, franchises, back of beyond, you name it we have tried it. We had our last night of holiday meal and chose The Shack. Absolutely no regrets, food was beyond description, tasty, fresh, perfectly seasoned, rich but not stodgy. Cannot recommend them highly enough. The two working the van were lovely and even gave my daughter an extra box to colour in. Highly reccomend this place and can't wait to visit again next year! 10/10! Thank you for the amazing food.

Had a beautiful crab roll here. We were told by a family, also waiting for their order, that the mussels are the best they've ever tasted. I would love to work my way through the menu but a bit expensive for me.

Lovely plump prawns in a garlic and tomato sauce …. fresh and very tasty. Fish was good quality and the batter light and crispy. If you get the chance give this a go as the food is first class and reasonably priced.

Nice idea lovely spot. But portion size very disappointing. Had heard great reviews and was keen to try it out.

Fantastic fish on the seafront! We had the most wonderful king prawns, a crab sandwich and the best chowder I’ve ever had. We wanted seafood and we stumbled across this place and it delivered. Would highly recommend!

I called in here while out for a walk in Brodick and was not disappointed! I went for the king prawns which were massive and super tasty and juicy! Served with a spicy mayo and spring onion garnish. Would definitely recommend trying this place if you’re in the area and want a quick bite!

Parked up this afternoon behind the wee Coop in Brodick was food heaven, aka The Shack. Housed in a shiny stainless steel American 50s trailer is where you'll find food perfection. The menu is mostly fish but not exclusively. Orders were fish and chips and bbqd monkfish with humous and chips and other goodies on a flat bread. Perfection does not begin to describe just how tasty and we'll cooked these dishes were. VERY highly recommended !

We finally got to visit The Shack and it didn’t disappoint. We had 6 dishes between 4 of us and every dish was delicious. Everything was freshly cooked and we would have gone back for a second night but it changed locations last minute. Would highly recommend.

Like some opinions in recemt reviews we thought the people serving were friendly but at £16.00 for about 6 pieces of under seasoned scampi accompanied by a mountain of skinny not very nice chips, which I would guess came from the feezer section of a local shop, the anticipated fabulous meall was such a disappointment. On our experience the Shack experience is over hyped and hugely expensive for the meal given. Not for us!

The food was OK, we had fish and chips but they were average rather than special so we were a bit disappointed. Quick service and pleasant people.

Great food, outdoor dining with beautiful views. Ordered the fish burger, fish and chips and grilled prawns - everything was delicious. A must when visiting Arran.

Been to Arran a few times now and always have to stop off at The Shack !! The menu is changed daily so always fresh produce ! Well worth a visit 😋

We visited the Shack 28th July with high expectations to be disappointed..... our fish was modest in size and the oven chips we not what we expected. The monkfish scampi tasted lovely the portion based on the price was extremely disappointing. On a positive note the 2 staff were friendly , not enough to tempt us back

Fresh seafood cooked simply to let the produce shine. We’ve Enjoyed lobster rolls, Parmesan truffle chips, steak ciabatta , crab tempura and a crispy curried king prawn roll. Shack appears at different bays on Arran depending on day of week (check their facebook to follow) menu changes often and there’s always some new specials to try

The Shack is a trailer which travels around Arran selling fresh seafood. We first saw it by the beach in Brodick when we’d already eaten, and so actually dined a couple of days later in Blackwaterfoot. You place your order with the friendly owners, and...

Family order so we ordered a mix of fish and chips, langoustines and arancini. Everything was absolutely delicious! Really fresh, tasty and generous portions. People serving at the van are also friendly. Perfect last night in Arran eating this with an amazing view. Cant wait...

Excellent burger from The Shack in the car park near the beach in Brodick. They provided a buzzer so we could go for a short walk whilst waiting - great idea.

Saw “The Shack” in the car park behind the smaller Co-op in Brodick and decided to place an order for our last night on Arran. Phoned in order and was given a collection time, which was spot on. Seafood was cooked to perfection and beautifully...

We spotted the Shack on the car park behind the library / smaller Coop in Brodick and what a find! The prawns and frito misto were delicious. Fantastic menu and amazing food. If you see it, eat there immediately! All packed in compostable takeaway trays...

What can I say, if this was a restaurant it would have a Michelin star. Came across this by accident whilst staying in Lamlash. It seems to move between Lamlash and Brodick. We only got to eat here once, which was disappointing as we wanted...

We jumped at the chance to order from the Shack while the van was called in at Brodick during out week on Arran - the food was absolutely delicious and we'll be back for more next year!!! Brilliant addition to the island 👍🏼
