With a long wait at the airport and nothing else available except confectionary items plus the cold in the waiting area gradually seeping in, this was the last resort for "something hot". The staff were attentive and very C19 aware. The menu was uninspiring and centred around brown foods and bread so not much choice. I settled for a curry without rice which was warming. Coffee was surprisingly good. I was told the venue was very likely to be closing soon. There was nothing open in the departure lounge (T1). Be aware if you have a long wait scheduled.

Just witnessed the standard of British customer service! At the Bar in Glasgow airport 1. As a blind man sporting the full “Stevie Wonder” white stick and glasses asking for a coffee , being handed a mug and told “ the machine is over there” ! 2. Watching as a plainly foreign lady is handed pound coins as change and looks confused when the young Scottish lad says “ sorry hen we don’t have enough fivers”! Your customer facing staff could at least make some effort. To be fair one girl was switched on enough to ask if I needed help at the coffee machine while a guy who I can only assume was a manager stood idly by chatting to a girl at one of the tables

Decided to go in here before our flight as sister was Hank Marvin , and couldn’t wait until we got to departure area. Both of us chose to have panini meals. Mine was ham & cheese, but unfortunately there was heaps of ham (which some people would prefer) and very little in the way of cheese to bind it together. A pleasant young waitress asked if everything was ok, and I did say my panini was lacking in cheese , & she apologised & asked if she could do something more, but told her it was fine - just to let kitchen know FYI. The chips were nice enough though. Sister thought the coffee from the machine had an odd smoky/ashy taste , but didn’t want to complain. Probably a good enough option if you want a hot meal before a flight out.

Im quite a regular at weatherspoons all around the UK and I have enjoyed all of them. But recently went into Glasgow airport Wetherspoon, Ordered the Empire State burger for a whopping £13, I was expecting something a lot better than what arrived. More like normal burger completely over cooked dry tasteless unseasoned chips under cooked with a slice of the cheapest cheese slice on top, a very big let down wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. The cook is clearly completely clueless how to cook a burger, I took 2 bites and left disgusting I will never eat there again.

However I decided to go for a smoke before my meal came and saw one of the kitchen boys walking past with a clip board and reading glasses in one hand and his finger in his nose with the other. Needless to say I was disgusted and requested a refund on my meal. You never know when one of these guys decides to skip the handwashing station.....

We always use the Sandpiper when travelling via Glasgow Airport. Reasonably priced food and drink and, on a recent extended stay at a hotel near the airport, we indulged in the Club Sandwich three nights running. The only downside related to a subsequent increase in our weight! We always find the bar staff cheery and helpful. Could do with staying open a bit later perhaps?

Myself and partner stopped here for a drink before we went through to departures. I over heard a young woman saying to a customer “I’ve already told you it’s bar service, you’ve been sat there for 20 minutes, it’s bar service”, She was extremely rude and the man got up immediately and left, quite rightly so! Me and my partner left straight after this and won’t be returning. Customer service goes a long way , wether he knew it was bar service or not learn some manners!

The Sandpiper is located outside the security area of Glasgow area. It follows the usual Wetherspoons formula of reasonably priced food and drinks. We just had drinks and service was ok without being special as bar person seemed pretty disinterested in us. I made the error of ordering food in this sectarian dump. I told the bar staff that I was tight on time and could I have my coffee and sandwich as soon as possible. 20-25 minutes later there was no sign of either. When I looked for same from the bar staff at this horrible Wetherspoons Pub, I was racially abused. This was the subject of a hate incident complaint to Police Scotland. I would never darken the door of this or any other pub or hotel run by JD Wetherspoon. My complaint to the pub was ignored. Do not eat or drink here.

So we got to the sandpiper and ordered our breakfast which was just a few rolls on sausage at about 10 to 8 in the morning. They told us it would be a 20/25 minute wait which we understood as it was very busy and they had a very big que. we waited and waited until an 45 minutes had past. At this point we were starving so we sent a member of our party up to ask where our food was to which the waiter replied ‘oh sorry the kitchen didn’t get that order’. Angry was an understand, we definitely do not recommend and it is certainly not worth the wait. However they did give us a full refund for everything including the drinks we had which was fair enough but it was a really disappointing service.

I agree with shetlandwomble - I've eaten in other Weatherspoons for breakfast, lunch and dinner and generally it is good food and good value for money. You know it's not as good as a restaurant but it's ok for what you get. The wait to be served was nearly 15mins and there was only abut 10 people in front of me. Most of the tables hadn't been cleared and my bacon in the bap was rather fatty. Not a great deal of care, staff appeared stressed; whether they were understaffed or under training, I don't know. There are lots of other choices in the main hall and I won't be eating here again.

Wetherspoons are usually reliable for pub grub and drinks at good prices, why we chose to eat here today. Disappointed they have 2 choices of Pinot Grigio on the menu, but had neither. The Co2 had run out, so only ales etc available. You have to have a bottle of mixer, like if or not, with every spirit, it's a waste if you don't actually need one? Beef chilli con carne didn't have any beef. When ordering the chicken, avocado and bacon salad, the employee was trying to say it wasn't in the side salads, so it had to be pointed out by the customer that it was on the menu as a main meal. Hopefully a new member of staff in training. Plenty of empty tables when we were here, but unfortunately very few clean ones. Disappointing.

As this is part of the Wetherspoons chain you more or less know what you are going to be able to eat however, there are some regional foods on offer as well. The pub itself was clean and modern, with comfy chairs and booths. The food came quickly and appeared to all have been cooked fresh. As this venue is located within the airport it offers breakfast, lunch and evening meals, along with various smaller and snack options. The prices are slightly higher than in a town centre bar but lower than some other local eateries.

I had the utter displeasure of visiting this place on the journey home from a stag do in Glasgow. Now, I appreciate that it’s Wetherspoons, so none us were expecting a blackcurrant reduction or quince mousse, but the chicken teriyaki looked as though it had been plated using a catapult, drawn back by the hand of Stevie Wonder. Our server was a very interesting character and surely the proud owner of a Jeremy Kyle loyalty card. After a short debate regarding whether he had more teeth or brain cells in his head, I decided to approach the subject of the chef’s presentation skills, to be met with the eloquent response of: ‘I don’t care, what would you like me to do about it?’ Now, I wasn’t expecting anything delicate or infused with the poetic voice of William Wordsworth on a spring day, but please Wetherspoons, surely you can empower your staff with slightly better complaint handling techniques than Kim Jong-Un at a nuclear summit. Just be better. In life.

Appena atterrato all'aeroporto di Glasgow (in località Paisley) ho cercato subito un posto dove mangiare e grazie all'app di TripAdvisor ho individuato un locale che sembra interessante a pochi metri dalla mia posizione. The Sandpiper appunto.

We were here for lunch. Initially, I ordered the vegetarian brunch without the eggs. The vegan Quorn sausages were dreadful, tasteless and barely cooked. I have eaten Quorn sausages many times but maybe not the vegan ones. A waiter came by and asked if everything was ok so I explained the situation to him. He asked if there was something else I would like so I decided on the vegetarian curry. I did not have too long to wait for it and it was really nice. My friend enjoyed her dish. On the basis of the service I received and the tastiness of my second dish, I would certainly have another meal there if I was in the airport.

Just popped in for breakfast. We didn't want much. So just got child's breakfast with toast. Not a great amount. But it did the trick. Breakfast 1egg, bacon , hash brown and beans served in a small metal pot. Toast was extra. With tea and a cappacino cost about £18.00.

Every time I come to Scotland I make it a point to go to The Sandpiper to get the Highlander burger. But this trip I was disappointed to hear that there was a haggis recall. I know I can get a haggis burger elsewhere, but I did like getting it at the Sandpiper. I had an Innis & Gunn to drown my tears. The staff was very courteous throughout the whole ordeal. I do have to give just 3 stars because of the haggis recall though.

Popped in here while at Glasgow airport, obviously. Can honestly say that the bar staff were excellent and friendly, and served both my beer and tasty bangers and mash promptly and efficiently. You will not be disappointed.

Visited after a flight. Ordered the veggie breakfast. Was told that they didn't have any veggie sausages so the waitress said would you like an extra egg and toast. The breakfast was ok. I left in a hurry to find that I was changed 99 pence for the extra piece of toast. Breakfast was £8.15. Small Apple Juice £2.15 and toast 99 pence. I felt ripped off!! So be careful when you come here!! I think it's over priced!!

Went to this for food whilst at Glasgow airport as we had previously had a meal at the airside wetherspoons a few years back and enjoyed it. The menu looks fine and we happily made our selection. I chose their 'classic pub' bangs 'n' mash with mushy peas and to be honest, only the peas were tasty. The mash was dry and actually tasted like the 'smash' reconstituted potato you used to get years ago, I'll let the cook deny that one. There were 4 sausages,a decent helping but these also tasted overcooked and microwaved? Not happy with it. My husband had the Wiltshire ham and egg with chips. He finished his but again it was like a microwave meal, the eggs were round so didn't look fried. It was just disappointing.

I've eaten here a few times in the past while waiting to pick up family. I've usually had good food and service, but this time only the service was good. While looking at menu I noticed the advert for ordering from your phone. I downloaded the app, ordered food and drink then waited. And waited. And waited. My drink eventually turned up after 15 mins, with a friendly member of staff apologising as with the new app ordering, they don't always hear the alert there has been an order. My burger when it came was a massive disappointment. There were hardly any chips on the plate. What was there was dry. The burger looked ok, but was tough when I cut into it. I assumed I had accidentally hit the wooden stick keeping the burger together, but I was wrong. It looked as though the burger had been precooked and was solid in places inside the patty. Either that or it has been sitting on a hot plate. I suspect this may have been something to do with the app instead of being a direct order to the tillTo my shame, I didn't complain, but I should have, but I didn't want to hang around for another meal to be sent. £11.15 for a Tennessee burger is expensive for a Weatherspoons, and wasn't good value this time. I'll be back in the future, but will make sure I go to the bar to order next time.

Our meal was very large (my spouse and I could easily have shared a meal), but we sat and waited until we figured out we had to order at the bar. Food was OK. Chicken was tough, suggesting it was overcooked, but the salad fixings tasted fresh. In any case, it was a better meal than at the nearby HI Express where we stayed.

The Sandpiper is in my opinion "just ok"; it has typical airport property prices and a limited menu but we use it for the convenience.

I ordered a double burger which was much more expensive than Weatherspoons normally is - as were the drinks £9 for large gin???The meat was dry and solid. Not pleasant. The chips weren't great either. The staff were very attentive however and dealt with the issue well.

Looked forward to my eggs Benedict. Then my eyes landed on Stornoway black pudding on the menu so would be rude not too, was lovely but first time been served a wedge of black pudding, must be a Wetherspoons thing. Service good just wish I could see my bags from the bar, or be able to reserve a table and have my bags with me, thanks to a fellow traveler "a know islander not a randomer" got to keep my bags safe.

Arrived at the airport with my daughter and wife, daughter was flying long haul and I'd promised her a meal before she left. After she dropped her bags we headed for the Sandpiper, (JD Wetherspoons), I ordered two gin and tonics and got a few pence change from £15, yes you read that right £15 !!!Fairly extensive menu to choose from, daughter had the double classic burger and my wife and I had the steak and ale pie, with chips and vegetables. When the food came the vegetables were a few very cold peas and I counted thirteen chips on my rather large plate, I think my wife had sixteen. The pie was good, chips were average to poor and the vegetables (peas) was worse than poor all this for £38.35 which included a Diet Pepsi. My daughter was happy but I just felt I'd been mugged !!

I usually give good reviews but this experience was too much to forgive. The hamburger I ordered was so tough that I could not bite into it. I pulled it out of the bun to see what the problem was and it appeared to be over-microwaved, to the point that it was like baked leather. I found that if you stabbed it hard enough with a fork it was possible to chunk off a piece, but far from edible. Also, I ordered a draft Innis & Gunn, a beer that we had found to be delightful during our tour of Scotland. But what I was served appeared to be and tasted like a cheap pilsner, like a Bud or similar.I know I should have gone up to the bar and mentioned these things, but I was so disgusted that I just left. Note: I won't be back
