We came to Lincolnshire for a few days and we dropped by on the off chance of getting food, we got there just after 6pm and the car park was full we was told by Debbie that we could dine there but just needed to wait for a table ,I am so glad we waited the food was delicious, Debbie explained it was 50% off which we couldn't believe, and the staff was all friendly , the pub itself was warm and very clean, Debbie was so organised and very happy and chatty with everyone she spoken to which is rare these days especially when so busy, we got a lovely welcome, there was 2 other young girls working who also worked very hard , the place is lovely we wish we was staying longer but we will definitely be back in march, and a bonus i was referred to as "young lady" which made my day being as I'm 62 years old thank-you to all. I would definitely recommend this place , Carmen and steve

I visited the Royal Oak last night for a Halloween themed evening meal with my friend and our 4 children. It was decorated wonderfully and the staff went above and beyond for us all. Such a warm welcome, even with the pub being very busy. So accommodating to our needs. Thank you for a wonderful time ❤️ - special thanks to the pumpkin 🎃💜

We have been visiting this past for the last few months when we knew we were moving to Mareham usually on different nights of the week. Such a lovely, friendly, village pub with a cosy feel for the colder times of the year and great beer garden for the summer months. All staff are welcoming & friendly. Pub is dog friendly with a jar of dog treats on the side such a cute gesture. We have shared the Nachos as a snack for a few times and they are delicious ! Finally ate a meal last night and was not at all disappointed. Food was as good as it looks when we have seen other meals come out. presented well and tastes as good, no actually better than it looks. Friday night is Fizz Friday a bottle of Prosecco £12.95 bargain. Husband says the ales are really good. Can't wait to come and try the Sunday Roast.

After having a pleasant meal on our first visit we re booked for a family birthday. Sadly this time 2 of the meals were dreadful, not sure if a different chef but they were very very poor. We complained to the young waitress who just said sorry , I also mentioned it again when paying ( same waitress) but no response. I didn’t want to make a fuss as we were with family and decided to contact them after we got home . I sent a message a few days later on messenger ( always answered in the past when we wanted to book a table but this time read and ignored) I tried to ring several times when the pub was open, just before they opened , when open but a quiet day etc , never answered. I sent several more messages, all ignored. I rang Batemans who explained the landlord has several pubs and they would ask him to phone me .. he never did . We spent around £200 that night and I feel this is appalling customer service . Our first visit the food was fine , average pre prepared pub food all bought in not homemade but fine , sadly we got a such a bad meal on our second visit which would be ok if we had at least had an apology or an offer of a replacement meal as one meal was totally uneatable . Shame on the manager handling a complaint in this manner.

Currently sat here waiting for our meals to be served, it’s 20.40 and our table was booked for 19.30. Had to go and ask several times for our orders to be taken. Service is shockingly bad, yes it’s busy but you’d think they’d have more staff here when they have a specials night. Waitress took our food order and said they’d be back to take our drinks order, never saw her again…. Debating as to whether or not to stay and have our meals or if we should just grab a pizza on the way home. Certainly won’t be back and won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

We were staying at Tattershall lakes and was recommended The Royal Oak . A traditional pub with pub grub ! It was a Monday night which is half price on all food . Luckily we managed to get a table as they was vey busy . The girl on the bar said that there would be a wait for food due to how busy they were. This wasn’t a problem as we weren’t in a hurry and could see that they were all working as hard as they could. We couldn’t fault any of the food , it arrived very hot and was all tasty. The onion rings were massive and the best we have ever had. Will definitely return again . *****

We had Sunday lunch here and as it was sunny we sat in the really lovely garden area which was lovely Service was fabulous with friendly staff The pub itself is very quaint and beautifully decorated We had 3 Sunday roasts and could move after they are so big We had 1 turkey which had thick slabs of meat and 2x trio ( turkey 1 slice pork 2 very thin small slices and 1 beef slice which was fatty ) we enjoyed the food but didn’t think the trio was worth the extra money and both wished they had just had turkey The puddings looked lovely but we were too full

Sunday lunch - a mixed bag for me. I'm a massive dog lover, but there were about 6 or 7 at various tables in the pub. As we left, even more were coming in with their dogs, some of which were large, boisterous & didn't seem entirely under control. In addition, one of the waitresses kept stopping to stroke them as she was delivering the Sunday lunches. I hope she was washing her hands in between. The pub was super busy, fair play to them, and the waiting staff were all friendly & attentive. It's clearly a very popular place, but not really my cup of tea, I prefer something a little bit more refined & where people have made a bit of an effort to dress for going out, rather than joggers & a hoodie. The food - well-priced and it was an above-average Sunday lunch. Lots of choice. The plates I found too small for the amount of food on them, little room for manoeuvre, a lack of seasoning on anything, the carrots were done whole & some were still very hard. On the plate was mash, large parnsip, 2 whole carrots, tenderstem broccoli, stuffing ball (undercooked), roast potato, thick slices of turkey, pot of cranberry sauce, small amount of gravy (extra was provided when we asked) and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Couldn't finish it all, found the portion a bit too much (odd complaint I know) and the plate too small. Presentation is key for me & it just wasn't there. Dessert was entirely different - fantastic presentation, really tasty & much more refined. Everyone in there seemed really happy, tables were turned around & full again very quickly & it's clearly a pub doing well & I'm really pleased for them. Mostly enjoyed what I had, but not somewhere I would rush back to, but that is just my preference, there wasn't anything really wrong with it.

Came here Sunday just gone and was blown away with food quality and quantity! Great service from tall lad behind the bar and was very apologetic for long wait as the pub was understandably RAMMED! Today was a great contrast too when we came first. We came for pie night quite a few weeks ago and was far quieter than what was happening on Sunday. On arrival we are greeted by a different gent in a very clear “doesn’t want to be here” demeanour… when food arrived it was a wonderful size portion again, lovely chunks of meat and lots of chips - was left feeling very full, but also very parched. Never once did the server come back too us and twice we had to stand and wait by the bar for him too appear again, noticing the couple other tables within the rooms that seemed to be spying for him as well… even having a little joke with them. Would defiantly recommend and felt the need to review this time to show the big difference between visits, in case other new comers may not come back to an otherwise beautiful place because of one bad experience.

Very disappointed with our meals. I chose Hommity Pie ….. which was too greasy to eat, stuffing ball wasn’t crispy just stodgy, along with a huge Yorkshire pudding . My partners beef was bland, altogether a let down and expensive. Wine and chocolate dessert were good thankfully . Sorry will not be returning. The amount of food left on our plates and on other tables should be taken notice of and noted that you are getting something wrong. .

Miles from anywhere, this is hard to find, but worth the effort! Full of character, it's one of the oldest pubs around, with very low beams, open fires and plenty of cosy atmosphere. Courteous service from the landlord who really seemed to care that we...

We visited the Royal Oak for Sunday lunch. The roast was excellent, quality ingredients and good portion size, followed by a very tasty sticky toffee pudding. When we visited there was live music on, and all the restaurant rooms plus bar area were full, so...

Thought that we would give Steak Night a go, as the Sunday Lunch had previously been very good. I was slightly disappointed, as unfortunately my rump steak was very sinewy, my husbands steak was much more tender. The restaurant was not very busy but when...

Wow what rude and vile staff coffee was cheap and cold stuff and cake was dry won’t be using again why run a business when you can’t be bothered

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

After having had a fantastic experience here midweek during the summer, we promised ourselves we would be back for Sunday dinner. We booked by email, which was confirmed within minutes, Howe when we arrived there was no record of the booking. I was able to find the confirmation email. We were told that we could be accommodated but it would have to be in the bar area as there were 3 other bookings which already had restaurant tables reserved. We were advised to pick a table and they would set it up for us. We showed them where we would like to sit and waited for someone to bring some seating to the table. After 10 minutes we were still standing so found a different table which had seats in place. (We had already informed them that my husband was recovering from a broken ankle) Eventually the waitress came and gave us cutlery and placemats but no salt and pepper. She took our meat orders and I asked whether the veg would include cauliflower cheese, as I would like to not have it, as I have an allergy/intolerance. We waited a further half an hour for our meals, which came with the vegetables served on a tray, including the cauliflower cheese. There was only one spoon which was resting in the cheese sauce so I had to request another one. I then dished myself up a spoonful of swede/carrot mash and one broccoli floret. I did try to dish up some cabbage but found that when lifted from the plate, the cabbage came out from under the cauliflower cheese and covered in the sauce, so I had to not have cabbage. After the meal, the waitress came to clear the table. She dropped some vegetables on the tablecloth and asked if we wanted puddings to which I responded yes. After waiting for 38 minutes with no sign of the waitress to clean the table or take our pudding order, we decided to leave. On taking our payment the bar staff asked if everything had been ok, so I mentioned the above. He simply said, ‘sorry about that ‘but the mains were ok?’ I chose not to continue with the conversation, as my husband had overheard the barman say that he was going to rip someone’s head off. We are really disappointed as we had been telling everyone about how good our experience in the summer was. To top it all, there was a very large dog in the area which smelled strongly and a group of young children also came and used the pool table right next to us, despite there being a notice advising that nobody under 16 was allowed to use it. Another customer did point it out but was ignored. One or two little things we could have overlooked/forgiven but unfortunately there were too many today and we won’t be back

An unassuming little place that offers a friendly welcome and excellent, attentive service. It's got a cosy, slightly bio/eco feeling with very interesting plants and an insect hotel outside the door. Menu is limited but more than adequate for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Nice music playing unobtrusively in the background too. A really great touch is their bottomless cup for tea or coffee. Blink and you'll miss this place as you drive along the busy and fast A52 between Boston and Skegness. It's on a cross-roads just after the main Friskney village turn-off travelling NE. But DON'T miss it because it really is a worthwhile pit-stop. Opposite, down the lane towards the Wash, there is some brilliant wild walking.
