The Route in Halton

Hadn't visited here for some time, but we were nearby and decided to visit. Nothing has changed the food is very reasonable, tasty and we'll presented. The staff can't be any more friendly and they would do anything to help. They now have a small shop within which offers limited food at a reasonable price. Give them your support if you're in Widnes.

Great community run Cafe. VERY reasonable prices along with a great pantry with goodies to buy. Great local find.

Called in today for my 3rd visit, so far. Food excellent & very reasonably priced, served by lovely friendly Staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend this place, whether you eat in or prefer to take out.

Worth a visit very friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble. The food is very reasonable and well presented. Can highly recommended there cream tea as the scones are made freshly on the premises.

The staff here are lovely always friendly and smiling and the breakfasts are lovely. My son loves the milkshakes

Visited with som work colleagues, excellent fast food and huge portion. Served by very happy waitress who was very attentive.

The Route Cafe is a community based cafe, as "The Route, on Widnes Road, opposite Widnes Post Office, has been developed by Halton Borough Council and the Clinical Commissioning Group, training people with a range of needs and disabilities to the world or work - and supporting other initiatives already run for and by them." (Halton Borough Council). The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and the prices immensely reasonable with a great selection of english and american diner treats. I had a delicious portion of mac 'n' cheese and my companion had a baked potato, but next time I fully intend to check out the delcious looking ice cream and float menus! Yum!The cafe is also obviously wheelchair accessible, but more than that it is perfectly welcoming to people with family members with mobility or other disabilities. It is a great community space and long may it continue!
