The Rose Villa Tavern in Birmingham

Lovely hidden gem of a pub. We went during the day on a Friday and the DJ had the classic jams playing and pumping early, with the football on as well. Rose Villa Tav seems to cater for an older audience but all are welcomed warmly. The food took a while to arrive but was HOT and tasty on arrival. Fairly priced food and drinks given the location but they have serveral drinks deals on and interesting range of cocktails to try!

Beautiful pub with a variety of beers. A pleasant place to take a break from the tour of the jewelers' quarter.

Really lovely helpful staff. We had two meetings upstairs (lovely room - redecorated since the bright blue in photos). Couldn’t have been better!

This place is a bit hit and miss. Not a bad pub but a little expensive for what it offers.

Slipped in ketchup in the loo freezing cold and we got 4 chilli bites for a remortgage but the staff were nice hence the star

I had a great NYE 24/25 here. Friendly and attentive staff as always who go out of their way to make your time here enjoyable and safe. Would definitely recommend.

Christmas has come early! Kate (otherwise colloquially known as the best landlady in the JQ) has fit the pool table with a BRAND NEW cloth. It is divine, as is she, and as is this pub. I couldn’t recommend this place enough for good food, laughs, pure enjoyment and memories. Tim and Leah behind the bar are fantastic too. I shall be coming again!

It wasn't Kate who served us but her sister..(you may remember me). Made us feel very welcome.. definitely recommend for a few drinks.. old school pub..

Visited with work colleagues on 7/12/24. A traditional old style pub in Birmingham's jewelry quarter. Beer was good and also a decent atmosphere.

Tried 3 of their small plates today with a friend and just WOW! The plant based "duck" in bao buns (couldnt tell that it wasnt actual duck at all) , the spicy mango prawns (great spice and sweet combination) and the squid dish (cooked to perfection), they were just amazing, the rare combination of flavours all complimented eachother really well. Really lovely lunch 😊 Thanks ladies!

Called in for a drink while at the Jewellery Quarter and though the pub was quiet the barman was very friendly and welcoming and the beer was served well, they clearly look after the pipes, the food looked and smelt good too. Lovely old building with original tiles and stained glass windows and when busier I bet it had a great feeling!

Pricey for what was on offer. The barman was friendly enough, but needed support to keep up with serving and other tasks. Tried to order food, but only one option on the menu was an option for my dietary requirements and was sold out

Visited on a Monday afternoon. Almost a tenner for a Guinness and a Pepsi. No one there. Beer garden is like a cage, and no sun gets to it, but the building itself is nice.

Nice traditional Birmingham pub

Since November, I have spent one night a week running a weekly gaming tournament in the upstairs of the Rose Villa Tavern. With easy access to the Jewellery Quarter and its closeness to the train station, this pub has my heart. The food is amazing (personally recommending the Steak Frites and the Buttermilk Chicken Burger!), the pub carries a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff are some of the friendliest I’ve ever met in a hospitality establishment. They always ask how your day is and give the pub a really homely feel. The manager Kate has been extremely accommodating and always checks in with us, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside her over the months. I would also love to shout out Rowland, Tim, Lauren, and Heather and the kitchen staff for always making us feel the most welcome week in, week out. If ever anyone is in the Jewellery Quarter and needs a place to rest their feet and get great food in, look no further than one of my favourite establishments in Birmingham. Long live the Rose Villa ❤️

Bit overpriced even before we paid for a game of pool only to learn - from someone behind the bar - that they had no cues! (No signs on table or payment device warning about that...)

Not many people in. I was a little disappointed by the poor beer selection. Nice cocktails and good music.

Spent a lovely evening at the Rose villa tavern yesterday can I just start by saying the staff the atmosphere and the scenery is just amazing you can’t beat it fantastic pub The food is to die for We had five small plates which included Prawns, fish tacos, bree, planks, beef tacos and some lovely chicken goujons with a great selection of sources to compliment them The price, the portions and the quality was spectacular will definitely be visiting again

First time here, went for food and quick coke, ordered pawns squid chicken burger and chicken wings, chicken burger food was raw only thing edible was chips. Service great

Charming nice looking pub in the Jewellery Quarter. Fantastic aesthetic. Enjoyed a lovely pint in here recently, but it was a historic one for me personally, as it was the first time I broke the £7 price barrier for one, something I hadn't even managed in Airports or Central London before. Having spoken about this to a lot of other people since, I now realise this was an incredibly high price even for that particular beer. Have previously had a few good times in here, going back a few years.

The RVT has a lively atmosphere with friendly staff and a great selection of food and drink options. With quiz nights, live music, pool tables, and DJs, there's always something happening to keep you entertained.

Great atmosphere and a tasty menu

Spent a few days in the jewellery quarter on a polishing course, during which I visited the rose villa tavern a few times. Food was banging, service prompt and smiley; the music absolutely slapped! Nice eclectic mix of songs including quite a few bangers inducing beautiful feelings of nostalgia and joy curated by the wicked Rowland, cheers! (Drink and food for under £20!)

Very nice pub, the cheeseburger not good at all (cold bread, cheese not melted), the chicken one was better and the waiters really weren't very friendly.

Beautiful pub friendly staff great food !

A decent pint of Guinness and ok service let down by sub par food and general cleanliness of the places (see photos). Food was ok nothing great not really worth the price you pay. Was given a dirty knife(see photos) basic requirement would be to at least give clean cutlery. The place needs a serious revamp starting to look run down. Benches got plenty of stains and not been cleaned properly. Would probably not return here however the pint of Guinness was pretty decent so that was a plus.

Just like a pub should be, relaxed, comfy, friendly, good service. Highly recommend a visit.

Attractive Victorian ambience. Food well cooked and tasty.

A nice pub on the centre of the Jewllery Quarter with the classic pub style decoration inside. Friendly staff and a clean ambient. The food is great and the price is ok for the size of the plate. There are burgers and sandwichs available and other smaller dishes like chips and salads. I miss the old Fish and Chips on the menu tough. The drink selection is great with things for all tastes. It's a great place to go out at night in the area.

We booked our works christmas party here on Saturday, we booked it in October Kate the manager got back to us straight away and was very helpful. we had a lovely decorated room , brilliant music, lovely food and an excellent service. We were all very impressed what a lovely pub with lovely staff. Definitely one of our best christmas parties. 5 stars . Thanks to Kate and all at The Rose Villa Tavern

Hosted my moms 60th birthday party in the private function room. As soon as we viewed the room we fell for its decor, intimate vibe and lay out. It was a perfect setting for our small family function. Kate was amazing and so helpful, she made us feel welcome straight away (shes also part of the reason we choose the venue). On the day the staff were so helpful and accommodated all our needs. The bar staff were lovely and friendly, they were a great vibe during the night. Can't thank you all enough, we will definitely be using this venue for future events.

Such a nice laid back chilled out experience. Food was lovely staff very good and it was a very busy Sunday afternoon. Definitely worth a visit. I will be returning.

Nice pub with a good atmosphere with reasonable prices for the location

Visited for lunch with two very bored soggy grand children, we had such a warm welcome. Lady gave kids crayons and paper to keep them entertained. Kids loved their meal and hot chocolate, and we enjoyed our coffees. The pub itself is beautiful, stained glass windows, wooden floors, and fab 1920's tiles. I'd imagine this place buzzes in the evening. Thank you so much for looking after us, will definitely return (without kids next time 😁)

Fantastic Pub in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, very friendly staff especially Kate she treated the Gold polishing Guru extra Special, although she never even knew, she had met the Guru. Grade 2 Listed such a lovely atmosphere. We had a steak Frites. Plus a couple of Donut cocktails, try them next time you pop in, l will return very soon for another session.

Popped in for food on a lunch break. Excellent service from friendly staff. Great selection of drinks even had sweets on the bar for Halloween!

Friendly helpful staff, craft beers

The interior decoration is classic with beautiful glass windows, and the seating area is comfortable and cozy. The drink selections and food quality are just normal.

This pub, has friendly staff, well decorated interior with lot's of old and beautiful glasses and tiles. The pub counter located right in the middle of the pub itself leaving relatively small and narrow seating area, especially in the front of the counter area. Also negative point, TV's hanged on the walls too high feeling that you are watching the ceiling which is not very comfortable for match days etc. Beer prices are also soaring, literally more expensive than Broad Street pubs. Bottle of 330ml starts from £6 and pint starts from £7 onwards which is Not affordable at all. I hope owner should review prices. Nice location, lots of free parking after 18:00 till 08:00

As a regular establishment I visit often my review speaks for its self but thought I’d share my recent experience. I’d booked the function room to organise a friends 40th. Kate the manager went above and beyond she made my vision come true and nothing was too much. Thank you All the staff friendly and helpful. The menu and food are both amazing and such good value. Also they’re dog friendly!

I booked RVT's private function room for my husband's 40th birthday in July 2023 and it was amazing. Such a brilliant venue. Great hire price, private bar and staff included, space for a DJ or to plug in your own music to their sound system - which is absolutely brill quality sound (and more than loud enough!). The room has party lights so no need to sort your own/worry about that either. They provide catering if you want, or not - they were so accommodating. Perfect size room, brilliant atmosphere. All our friends said how fab it was. Will deffo be booking again for future celebrations. Kate and her team are AMAZING! Brilliant communication. Just everything spot on! We attended a lunch after a visit with the CWGC West 1 volunteers group to the Warstone Lane & Key Hill cemeteries. It was enjoyed by all that attended, especially the ice cold water, in general a very nice lunch in a really nice, friendly atmospheric pub

£6 for a pint....... terrible prices, this is not London & no cask handpulls, another shocking decision......I won't be ever go there again .....only positive was the service

New owners have done an AMAZING job with this jewellery quarter classic pub!! We have lived in the quarter for a few years and seen many owners come and go, we have to say Katie has gone above and beyond making this the place to be. Service working like clockwork and the cleanliness of the toilets top tier which we all love to see, excited to see what’s to come <3

For just over £8 for a large glass of Merlot red wine, one expect it to be top quality. This offering was acidic, about to turn into vinegar, I left it on the bar as the barman had disappeared.

Lovely food and very eclectic music. Friendly helpful staff and fairly priced drinks , and a few four legged friends coming in and out , highly recommended

The new owner has certainly put so much heart and soul back into a beautiful place really is rare nowadays…. The staff are always greeting customers with smiles which is also rare. The staff really are a credit to the new owner I will definitely be back

The new management is an absolute breath of fresh air, just what the rose villa needed. Its a beautiful, historical, clean pub, Staff are welcoming, food is amazing!! Definitely a place I highly recommend and visit regularly, I've also never come across a pub that is so dog friendly which is also an added bonus!! Well done Kate & the team ❤️

Love this place! Visited last night for date night and sat in the cosy corner, food was amazing, if you like a street food vibe or a classic pub steak they have it! The staff are all lovely and welcoming. All round great pub, great prices, great location and great vibe!! Definitely worth a visit :)
