Little to say other than my duck with peaches at £15.50 was poor.smallest duck breast I’ve ever been presented with and a fair percentage fat. It was smoked - not mentioned in the menu. Two pieces of flat warm peach, lettuce leaves and a sauce and grated nuts ( on the bottom of everything) completed the dish. Very unappetising. Wife had chicken which mirrored my comments, especially with regard to size!

I had a high tea for my friend’s retirement party. Being gluten free I dread these as my experience thus far has been poor. However, other providers should take a leaf from their baking books. The alternatives I was offered were as good as my gluten munching friends and I even had a beautiful gf scone. Well done Regency for not making me feel like a second class citizen.

Poor service even though place was almost empty. Booked for a birthday lunch but no special attention, in fact no attention. Saw 3 different waiting staff and then nobody once food arrived 30 mins later. Some food cold, some not great quality. After we’d eaten we had to go in search to pay the bill. Shane as recommended to us. Needs a lot of work to bring up to a quality restaurant standard. Oil the squeaky kitchen door for a start, very annoying and you’ve known about it for a long time. Learn how to cook a rare steak and look after your guests.

First visit here and well worth it, recently refurbished, lovely decor and ambience. I had Eggs Benedict beautifully poached 2 eggs on a toasted muffin with smoked ham and hollondaise sauce. I also had Orange Juice and a lovely smooth latte. Family members also enjoyed their choices, breakfast burrito and eggs royale.

Stayed here last month whilst daughter and friend went to Wireless. Decided to do a last minute stay as family member participated in Commonwealth games. Last stay was brilliant. Only had breakfast but the food was really good and great waitress. This time I could only give 3 stars. Lady on phone doing booking was VERY helpful. Checkin was quick. Room was two doors down from the last room we had and again the room was spotless. Window view was a load off old ceramic toilets (same as a month ago). I found the room very hot but there was a fan in which we used. Had a problem at breakfast in which I found the restaurant manager was not very helpful. Did let the receptionist know as the hotel manager was not around!!!! On a whole the hotel was clean, staff welcoming, loads off car park space and a great gym/pool/sauna room. Just wasn’t happy with the person using their hands to pick up all the items at breakfast (even though every item had tongues to use) and was not happy with the restaurant managers response when I told him.

The food in the restaurant was really good, I had a lamb burger and was very well cooked, my friend had the scallops and chicken kebab starters and they were delicious. The staff are very professional and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool area was really good, however be ware if you want a swim best go early in the morning before it gets to crowded. Hotel is a bit dated, however clean and worth the money, close to the NEC which is a bonus

This was our first visit to the Regency for about ten years, having heard from friends that they had made real improvements to the food offering recently. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. Special mention to our waitress Davina, who talked us through the menu, and also to Claudio who made sure we enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be returning.

Just back from the Laura Ashley Tea Room at the Corus Hotel. Took a friend as a treat. The room has a lovely decor and we had a great table in the window. We were well looked after from the moment we arrived. We chose the traditional afternoon tea £20.00 each, we could have up graded to one with Prosseco or Champagne. We had as much tea as we could consume with the waiting staff regularly asking if we were ok, would we like anything more to drink. For the afternoon tea we had a selection of Cucumber, Ham and Egg sandwiches. Followed by a plain and fruit scone each and a lovely variety of different cakes, Macaroons and small jellies. For the cakes we were unable to finish we were given a Laura Ashley box to take the cakes home.We will defiantly be back in the near future, my Mum is already looking forward to coming to experience it. Well done Chef and Staff keep up the good work.

£21 for 2 single spirit and mixer drinks and Diet Coke is an absolute joke. Would understand if it was a swanky place but I've stopped in travel lodges with better standard than that! To add staff were rude and disengaged, facilities were in an awful standard and there seemed to be a horrible damp smell throughout the whole hotel. For what was charged to what it was just doesn't add up!

Stayed at this hotel for one night whilst on business. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful but some aspects of the hotel were disappointing. There was no hairdryer in my room which I find unusual these days. Breakfast was just average although it was great to have fresh fruit. I used the pool in the spa. It was lovely and warm but the area had a 'tired' feel to it.

Dreadful from my last experience and hopefully only experience of this restaurant. The first impression when I arrived was that it was empty and for 2000 on a midweek night is not a good sign. Lot's of cars in the carpark and had seen plenty of business travellers in the hotel so they clearly knew something I didn't. The restaurant had loud music pumping out of tiny speakers that I think was coming from the kitchen and was dreadful. Not really what you want when you are trying to eat a meal and read a book. The staff are young and don't seem to be well trained but are polite and pleasant enough. The menu is limited and what you expect from this type of place. I had the pork belly to start and it looked really nice when it arrived. Well presented, looked nicely plated and smelled good too. How wrong you can be. The belly was nice and flavoursome but meagre portions of it. the crackling would have caused some serious trouble to your teeth if you had tried to eat it. So hard is was a joke. Not nice. For the main I opted for the gammon and again looked nice on the plate and a generous portion. Gammon was very salty and overcooked, the chips, frozen and tasteless and the 'salad' was pointless. Hot and cold food on the same plate is just odd. The side portion of cauliflower cheese was nice and the best bit of the meal. The portion size was miniscule and not really worth the money in honesty.

On arriving at your hotel we were greeted by a que of people at reception with only one staff member actually working on reception, it took a good ten minutes for us to actually get to the desk. The above mentioned staff member was not wearing a name badge nor did he introduce himself & was wearing a very tired looking suit!We finally got the key to our room & went up to the 2nd floor to get ready for our night out. On approaching the lift we decided to take the stairs as the lift was making some very odd sounds, no service was offered to help with bags.Room was ok, not the cleanest & the fan in the bathroom was rather noisy. My husband took a shower which consisted of two temperatures: very cold or very hot.On returning from our night out we were greeted in our room by a loud noise of water rushing & gurgling in the ceiling, we pressumed it may have been our neighbours shower but found 11:45pm an odd time to shower. After around 15 minutes the noise stopped, so i went to have a wash. On filling the sink i found that the water out of the taps was yellow!! So i reluctantly washed my face, gave cleaning my teeth a miss & we went to bed...but no, after around 30minutes the noise returned. We rang reception to ask to move rooms & they rang us back 10minutes later to say we could have an alternate room.We had to make our way down to reception in order to swap our key & the staff member covering reception had "no idea" what the noise could possibly have been? After yet another wait our 2nd key was ready & we were sent on our way to a room on the ground floor. On entering the room, it was very similar to the first, however this time we had patio doors rather than a window. These patio doors have slatted vents in them, which had been left open...in october, so the room was freezing. After finally dropping off to sleep we were awoken by the sound of our neighbours plus friends at 03:20am. We continued to hear our neighbours plus friends arguing until 05:30am when said friends left our neighbours room shouting "lets knock every door on the way past" Maybe monitoring guests coming into the hotel after midnight would be a good idea...? Particularly in the state they were in.So after approximately 0 hours sleep i am writing you this reviewWorst hotel experience of my life!

When I originally reviewed this hotel I didn't realise how much notice the General Manager took of guests' comments. He got in touch with me and took time and effort to reassure me that my comments were taken very seriously and suggestions always considered. There is an old fashioned kind of courtesy about The Regency management and staff and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Solihull area. It's was a "don't judge a book by its cover" experience.

Visited here for for an advertised Christmas Meal last December. 15 in our party were shown to a side room which we shared with another party of 10/12 people celebrating a lady's birthday. This wasn't what we were expecting! There should have been a Michael Buble tribute apparently but I guess this was over booked so we ended up in the 'old bar'. But you've got to give the place a chance. The starter was poor & not much of it. This was followed by the main meal which was served on a 'side plate' comprising of 2 sprouts, 2 roasters, a few carrots, 1 brocholi spear & what could have been 'Bernard Matthews Turkey Roll', the xmas pudding was quite nice but again a bit on the small side. All in all it wsn't worth the £26 per/head, which I confess is probably not a lot for this time of year, but I'm afraid eas way over priced for the fayre we had.In defence of the restaurant, after our organiser complained, we were offered the chance to join them in their main restaurant at a later date TBC. Watch this space!!!!

Cannot fault the Robbie tribute act in the slightest! Great fun atmosphere with all you would expect from a party night. Dj was good and a great time was had by all. Food: Well..... Starters were on the very small side but tasted superb... We all had Turkey for our main course... Four of us had ours served yo us but one member of our party had to wait at least 15mins for his (the other 4 had almost finished by the time his arrived) and when it did come there wasn't any cauliflower on the plate, just 4 Brussels and one small floret of broccoli and absolutely not a potato in sight! We asked for some potatoes as they were missing and nothing, so after asking again and starting his meal a young lady came over with a side plate with what looked like the scraps of potato that were left and had been fried to look like sautéed potato! She scraped it onto his half eaten dinner without even asking if he liked a chunk of mashed fried potatoes! Dessert: Three of us had dark chocolate mousse with cream...... Two came out and were placed in front of each and two panacotta came out. Again, a wait for another mousse and when this one arrived it looked totally different to other two! Looked like they had ran out again and the newest supplies were different!!!!!! Panacotta was not how it should be and was like stodgy on a plate and just heavy!!Would we return again?..... Robbie would be a yes.... Food is a big NO!

Absolutely fine if you like the bare bones of deep fried delights - we were staying here for a few days and I honestly struggled to find something to eat. Apart from a few tapas dishes, it Burger, burger, burger, burger, steak sandwich, fish & chips or 1 solitary pasta dish. No specials, no other option than what was offer ! Service was absolutely diabolical, on one occasion, our table of had 1 dish served 10 minutes before the other 6 and the remaining 8th dish 20 minutes after that !!

Lovely spot for a drink - Used to live opposite when it first opened and regularly visited. Been back recently and its kept all its charm. Not usually huge on craft beer but there is some good lager options and the gin choice is vast. Looking forward to popping in again Friday. Might try the pizza this time :)

The restaurant is beautifully designed and you can tell they pay attention to all details there. The food was exquisite and we especially enjoyed the selection of snacks and canapes. The white onion veloute was wonderful, as was the bread course. In terms of desserts, I preferred the forced rhubarb one. The madeleine was ok, but then again, there’s only so much you can do with one and upgrade it to nee heights. I would have finished on a stringer note with maybe a more exciting petit four, but that is just my opinion. The bill came to £400 for two people with wine. The bar staff deserve a special mention as they were excellent and able to create some pretty amazing cocktails.
