This was a last-minute booking - on my own, so they gave me a table in the bar. That didn't sound great, but on a rainy Sunday lunchtime the restaurant areas were full and the bar was quiet, which I was glad of. The food is good - had slow-cooked beef with a generous serving of vegetables nicely served - buttery mash, plenty of gravy. Service was pleasant and efficient, prices are very reasonable and I would be very happy to eat there again.

Absolutely love it here. A wide selection of food and drinks. Home made and plenty of food. Staff are friendly, helpful and make sure everything is good.

The heart of our village. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. Always perfect. Real Wales. Just gets better and better. Combines local pub hospitality with excellent food catering and total dog lovers. Now with an excellent Garden Menu. Terrific beer garden and outside tables.

Fabulous evening with good food. Service excellent, staff friendly and attentive. Huw the host is charming, and very professional. I have already booked for next week, I may have my favourite Beef and Ale pie which comes with homemade chips and peas. I recommend this lovely pub/restaurant 100% worth travelling to.

Booked Sunday lunch for Wife's birthday 18 in total with no complaints from our party.

I booked the red lion for my best friend's baby shower, we had the use of the upstairs room which was the perfect size. I was able to come down early in the morning and decorate, the owner Huw was very attentive and was always on hand to help. We had the perfect afternoon with family and friends. We had a buffet style lunch with plenty of variety of meats, veggie and vegan options. I would definitely use the red lion again if I require a function room. Also had their pub menu food before and was absolutely gorgeous. Diolch yn fawr xx

First time visiting the Red Lion and we will definitely be back. The car park was full on arrival which is a good sign. The staff were super friendly and made a fuss of our dogs and baby. The Sunday roast was really nicely presented, very tasty and the portion size was excellent. The vegan options were equally good. Great food and great people, what more could you want? A nice pub that is worth a visit.

Take away Sunday lunch. Didn't realise it came cold so it all had to be heated up. The food was average. Won't go back.

Just had a lovely meal in the red lion, we took finley our dog who was made to feel really welcome by all. Especially the lovely Natasha. We had spoken to her a few days earlier and she had given us loads of places to visit while we were here on holiday . The pub is a nice welcoming place and does serve fantastic food. It's a shame we live so far away as we would visit again. And Natasha you have made a friend for life with finley x

We recently had our wedding at The Red Lion, Llandybie and we couldn't be happier with the whole day. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests all commented about the quality of the meals, and excellent service. We'd highly recommend Huw and his team at The Red Lion for meals and/or special occasions.

5 if us had main meals and deserts. We all commented on how amazing our food was. Good vegetarian options. Staff were very attentive, polite and very welcoming. Portions were large, food was full of flavour. We will most definitely be back. One of our favourite places.

I was here for a wake. The staff were friendly but very busy. Problem was, I'm disabled and all the food (and obviously most of the guests), were upstairs where the food was laid on - so I can't comment on what it was like. I was also unable to say my goodbyes as everyone was upstairs when I was leaving with the few who were downstairs. I noticed that they had a buffet room just off the area I was sitting in, can't think why they didn't use that.

It’s not always easy to find a true “dog friendly” pub, even harder when you have 2! The Red Lion relievers on all counts. Drinks, food, service and snuggles for a husky. What a fantastic welcoming pub. From the moment we landed in the Red Lion, we were made to feel welcome, so too were the dogs. Fabulous service, fantastic food. Honestly can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for accommodating the late change. I am sure we will be visiting again .

Lovely atmosphere on the whole, good location with parking. The food looked great and the pub was busy but not full. It was a little bit sad to hear two of the waitresses speaking about us in Welsh, complaining about "English tourists". My wife is Welsh, and we were visiting friends. Being a Welsh speaker, she understood what they were saying. We decided to finish our drinks and leave.

From the get go, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. This is a prime example of a dog friendly pup. They really are fantastic with dogs. They bought us over a bowl of water and gave our Bo lovely fusses. We didn’t want to leave! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was excellent. I really couldn’t have asked for more. I had the vegetable lasagne which didn't even have any vegetable in it, wasn't nice at all and when I mentioned it as I paid all I got was "oh ok"

Early dinner with friends on a Friday evening. Table reserved in dining room. Carpet unclean with food debris’s scattered on floor which wasn’t very inviting. Friendly efficient staff. Bar tender could do with cleaning his nails as they were filthy ! All food was delivered hot, well presented and tasty. No complaints. Overall a fairly good visit but excellent.

Did not have food because I was unwell with the heat Beautiful pub .The bar staff were absolutely wonderful couldn't do enough for me checking all the time to make sure I was OK. We visited this pub when we were looking to move to Wales just over a year ago, and have always intended to return. It's just how we remembered it. Good food at a reasonable price, helpful and polite staff and a good atmosphere. Beers not bad, too. Would recommend.

Been going to the Red Lion for a few years. But hadn’t revisited since the beginning of Covid. Been back recently on two occasions for Sunday lunch as I now live a short distance away. And yes, still the high standard all round. Delicious lunch, and always consistently tasty and filling. Well done 👍🏼

Lovely pub, friendly staff. Amazing Sunday Roasts. Food was lovely the roast beef melted in your mouth. Definitely would recommend the roast dinners. Very reasonable too with choices of paying for 1,2 or 3 courses (only went on Sunday so can’t say about other menu) 3 courses was £20 very good value for money.

Best meal i'v had for a long time, Appreciated the quick service. No time lost waiting for courses all at an excellent price. Staff were very attentive. 😁

Come for Sunday lunch and 5 beef dinners were ordered. The 5 of us all said it was probably one of the best dinners we have ever had out. The beef was so tender you could just pull it apart and to top it off the gravy was something else. The chef smashed it today, Diolch.

WOW, we took friends to The Red Lion last night and we all had a wonderful experience. Firstly, parking was easy. The staff immediately on walking in we're friendly and basically lovely. Drinks were excellent my wife tried a new flavour of gin, she enjoyed two! The food was just perfect. I had the Surf & Turf, the steak was blue/very rare and cooked perfectly, which is not easy, and plentiful. My wife had the Mexican Chicken Burger, it was beautiful too. The chips are special! All this for a very, very reasonable price too, just excellent. To top it off my car's battery died in the car park. The boss (sorry didn't get his name) gave me a jump start too. Thank you so much. We will be back very soon. Thank you all again.

Last nights we called for a meal and was very disappointed with the all the meals. The chips were crispy and tasteless, and the childs meal (lasagne) was hard and lumpy, the gammon was nice but the onion rings were also greasy, the only good thing were the saute potatoes. No effort was made overpriced for what we had, will not be returning again and would not recommend to anyone

Pricey yet poor quality food. Ordered steak and chips, it was very salty and greasy. Not a good experience and wouldn't recommend it
