Under new ownership Tracey and John, sad to see Carol and Paul move on, however, couldn't have wished for a better couple to take it on, pub still full of character and an experience not to be missed.

Great night here! Bit of rock on the speakers and a lovely warm pub. Landlady leaves soon and a manager comes in. Be interesting to see what they make of the unique clientele.

One of the friendliest town pubs I have ever found. Mind your head though if you are any taller than 4'5" tall. Good celler offering well kept real ale on draught. The locals are super friendly and after being there for an evening you feel like you are part of the family. Also really dog friendly. Our Golden Retriever now know where all the doggy treats are. Large beer garden but is in need of some tender loving care.

£3 for a pint of Banks's. My favourite tipple. Busy pub, both this afternoon and evening. Yes I went twice. I liked the pub, it's beer and it's price. Really olde worlde. Not tall enough to be a 2 storey building, but it is one. Low beamed ceilings give it great character. The door frames warn you to duck. I'm short, and I had to stoop to avoid brain damage. A well furnished back yard which, on a brighter day than today, would have been a sun trap. I'll definitely go again.

Thought I’d give this takeaway a go after seeing all the rave reviews, but sadly couldn’t be more disappointed. Service in the takeaway was friendly, though there didn’t seem to be much customer activity. The sweet and sour chicken balls were small, dry pieces of chicken with masses of batter around, almost like 2 layers, which felt dry and old, almost as if pre-cooked. Sadly I could only eat a few of them before throwing away. Crispy shredded beef was soft and floppy, not great. Sadly spent much of the next day with agonising stomach cramps and being sick. Won’t be back and can’t recommend.

They say that if you stand outside this pub you can see four others. I tried this and could see only three. Maybe this is the fourth? Anyway, popped in here for a couple on a Sunday night. Decent enough pub, seemed quite lively. The beer was Cruzcampo, from Luton. Lots of people in, but table to be had. Overall worth a visit for a pint or two. Not much to add. Try their new beers!

Booked for New Years Eve. Had to wait half hour for table and another half hour for order to be taken. Apparently they were short staffed. Staff were not very friendly and food was average. Don’t think we will be returning.
