The Rectory in Lambeth

We are fortunate enough to live around the corner from the Rectory. During lockdown they were offering a Sunday roast collection service. We decided to take a chance and ordered two roast beef and one roast chicken. It was fantastic the beef was perfectly cooked, loads of roast veg, excellent gravy and yorkies nearly the size of my son’s head! Highly recommended. We are ordering again today and we are hoping they will continue it during our tier 2 phase.

The member of staff welcoming was exceptionally friendly, & happily explained COVID QR codes, sanitiser and fun ordering system with colour coded bats (despite having done this a number of times I’d imagine). On ordering also got some help trying to figure out if the vegetarian burger was made from vegetables or more of a quorum / synthetic meat substitute. Assured it was vegetables, containing beetroot and was delicious. Meal came, well presented. Chips tasty, burger bun, salad with mayo substitute also tasty. Vege patty not at all to my taste. I ate everything and left the whole ‘meatless’ patty. No check back to see if every was ok. On collection of plate by a different waiter no questions about totally uneaten main part of the meal. Three stars as first waiter was genuinely very pleasant. Nice chilled atmosphere and good drinks menu with nice beer. Asked for bill, paid, still no one asked if everyone was ok. I’ll be back for drinks only. Pizza looked good but too many Italian restaurants near by to settle for pub pizza. Unless your a new vegan missing meat don’t order the plant based burger.

I've lived in South London for years and it can be difficult to find somewhere that gets food, venue, and atmosphere right. The Rectory has got it right! Dont be intimidated by the big burger *including beetroot and pineapple* it's really worth it!

I'd come down here several times over the last 18 months to watch the sports and more recently the champions league semi's, I sit in the back section and have had mix success with the games/nights.... Sometimes the sound is on other times it isn't, sometimes the service is good others not so.... Which is a bit of a shame. It could be due to covid or the supervisor on that evening... C'est la vie It won't stop me coming here and when I've eaten its been good, Simon, JJ and Ash are excellent with costomer service and very attentive even bringing dog treats over if i'm with a four legged mate.... Its a great local for the sports which is what I want and generally good service.

We called here for a quick refreshment break whilst south of the river. This just off the beaten track but a real nice find. Modern and trendy vibe Nice decor Friendly staff Good music A nice fine and good place to chill out.

I went to The Rectory last week and had the Burger ‘with the lot’ and my husband had the vegetarian Beyond meat burger with fries. The burgers were sensational! Fresh, incredible taste and good portions. The staff are friendly and very efficient and the pub looks fantastic inside. I went again last night and had the same again and think this is going to be my weekly meal out treat. With the Government inspired ‘Eat Out’ initiative, it makes it possible to enjoy a great meal at very reduced prices. I saw food being presented to other customers and everything looked tasty and you could see customers throughly enjoying their meals and drinks.

Went for the 6 Nations game, Great atmosphere, nice staff and the food was lovely. Would recommend if your ever in Clapham.

Was here to watch the football and really enjoyed the atmosphere with a full bar of people having fun and laughter. I do come here a lot so I know that it’s constantly like this and a really enjoyable place to hang out. Usually, the commentary for the football is on so you can hear the TV but instead, after asking the bar staff if the commentary could be played instead of the music, the music continued to play. I don’t mind but some of my party wanted to go else where do we stayed for one half then left. I’ll be back but probably not when the football is on. I’ve eaten here before and the food was nice so drinking and eating here is good and fun.

Great place and very good food highly recommended for a day out with friends. Friendly staff and good costumers service.

Overall great experience, staff friendly, great atmosphere, food 5 stars, wine excellent. I was impressed with the owner, he went round the entire pub talking to customers, making sure they had a good experience. We went here for drinks and a meal on Monday night, and the staff were amazing. It was my mate's birthday and the staff played him happy birthday on the stereo, asked for song requests, and gave him a free drink. They went out of their way for us throughout the night, so big shout out to them :) The wine list also has a good selection, and both drinks and food (tasty pizzas) are well priced. Thanks again!

Love this pub. The food has never been awesome but always good. Yesterday it was edible. there was eight of us. 4 people had steaks 4 had the burger. Really straight forward or so you would think. The steaks were char grilled and over cooked not the medium rare ordered. My fries were sweet potato - I didnt order them - the waitr6ose looked bemused but had no intention of changing them for what I ordered. Burger buns way too big for the dry burger inside. Tiny piece of lettuce, tomato and only one tiny round of pickle on the inside. Really disappointing to look at and the taste matched. The best pub burgers are at the Tim Bobbin. Or as the children said we should have gone to five guys!!! I really want this pub to work please please please improve...

This is our local pub and we love it. It's just off the beaten track of Clapham Old Town, meaning it doesn't get overcrowded and feels like a locals pub. It's spacious and staff are friendly. Definitely would recommend The Rectory!
