I popped for my birthday and I kid you not, I had the best burger of my life! I went for the chicken burger with spicy gochujang mayo and it was mouth-watering. The truffle fries? Absolutely delectable. I finished with the sticky toffee pudding, which was divine, the perfect amount of sweetness and warmth to round off the meal. What really made the evening special was the staff. Adam, Chris and Enrico were incredibly hospitable, full of great humor, and so engaging throughout. I genuinely felt looked after. Chris was an absolute vibe in his Hawaiian shirt — I loved it so much I have now told my partner to get one. All in all, an amazing experience. Highly recommend coming here.

Nice dog friendly pub that casts live sports TV events. Went today for lunch with my Cockapoo Tequila. Had a lovely tasty bacon cheeseburger with fries and a pint of Moretti beer. The staff was lovely and friendly and treated Tequila to some tasty treats and a bowl of fresh water. We both enjoyed the food and will visit again soon.

Organised an event here last night. Ot went amazingly well, mainly due to how great the staff were. Alfie made sure the night ran smoothly, and the bar staff were incredible, so a massive thank you tonAlan, Luke and Adam for keeping us all topped up all night. Champions!

Nice roof terrace but refusing to show the two London teams in European semi-finals (one of which is a local team) and instead opting for a Man Utd game because “that’s the only team customers care about” was certainly an odd choice. Had to leave and go across the road with everyone else.

The Railway organised a fantastic birthday party for me, where honestly everything was effortless and taken care of, allowing me to enjoy the party! Sam and the team are really responsive and helpful, and everyone loved the food and drink options. Thank you SO much!

The interior is good but the music is so loud everyone is shouting at one another. I went at 7.30 for something to eat but couldn't actually have a conversation with my friend. I wish we'd sat in the snug area. There is also a roof terrace and another bar which I didn't investigate. We both had fish and chips, the batter wasn't completely cooked but for me that's not a huge problem because I don't mind if I don't eat it. On a positive note the staff are great. So give it a try I may have just been unlucky. I've subsequently had a message from the pub and ask to be seated in the Snug area if it's noisy and you want to eat and chat. They're very accommodating.

Very nice pub with better than your average pub food and fair prices, we had 3 pizzas which came fast and were good, the only downside was the music a bit loud, it was a bit hard to discuss but other than that nice place!

Celebrated my 30th birthday party in the private function room for 100-130 people on the weekend and the space was absolutely perfect! Lots of beer options upstairs and a giant disco ball that set the vibe for the dance floor and carried on into the evening. Huge thanks to the team on the night, especially Alfie and Enrico, who were super friendly and really went out of their way to make sure everything was spot on. Highly recommend booking The Railway for a party, already thinking about the 40th!

Love this place, has a good selection of beer & ales, 1 cider and some very lovely food, it can be busy when the footies on, however.... there is a lot of choice in putney, and this certainly is one of the better ones..👍🏼🍻

The Railway is by far one of the best pubs in Putney. The ambiance is great, food is good, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's definitely my go-to local and I would highly recommend.

Lovely pub, good atmosphere. Excellent, friendly service. Sunday lunch was superb. We didn't have to wait for our table Good variety of vegetables. Unlimited Yorkshires available but we could only manage one each. Portions were ideal for us. Felt very welcome by Daniel the barman. Ash too, who made sure we were enjoying our meal, bringing extra gravy. Happy that we got value for money. Super way to spend mother's day lunchtime and it was a nice touch to get a gift bag to bring home. Thank you to all at The Railway we will be back.

Great food, great service from Pan, nice chilled pub, even on a Friday night

Went for a post tennis pint and dinner. I can’t fault the service and friendly atmosphere however the food was very mediocre. I had a Margherita with added mushrooms, which was 90% cheese (not fresh mozzarella) resulting in extremely limited structural integrity (and I have an MEng in civil engineering). It was a shame as the base was clearly of authentic quality. The chicken wings were the relative highlight with an overwhelming but well flavoured bbq sauce. However the calamari was disappointingly lacking in both crunch and quantity. I would avoid the pizzas and sides in future.

We hosted a party here on Saturday in the upstairs room for 130 people. The staff were just brilliant. Great communication before the event, and so helpful on the night. Everything went like clockwork and so many of our guests said they loved the venue.

I ordered the Chicken burger, was very delicious and the fries were perfectly crisp! Great service as always, the team are super friendly and helpful. Disappointing experience. While watching the England v Scotland rugby match we were offered drinks table service. We ordered 2 pints. After waiting for 30mins we decided that it would be faster if one of us went to the bar and bought the pints. After buying the drinks from the bar we were accused of essentially stealing £15 worth of beer and not paying for table service. We explained we never received the pints we ordered and one of us went to the bar to purchase them. It was understandable due to how busy it was if a mistake was made. Unfortunately we were accused by the same member of staff again and seemingly the manager on two separate occasions of not paying for our drinks. This was unprofessional and we found it offensive to be accused of stealing the pints that we did purchase. The lady who served us was particularly rude and distasteful in her attitude towards us. A simple mistake is acceptable but to be accused of theft multiple times was insulting and ruined our experience of a good pub.

A lovely place to spend time having a drink, eating great food and looked after by first class staff. Well done everyone!

Great location, airy pub with several different areas and a terrace. Hosted an event for the Putney Social Group this month. The team were brilliant booking the area, really accommodating on the night (thanks Adam and Julian), the 30 members who came had a great night. Thank you.

I rented the cocktail bar for my 30th and the staff were great and super helpful in accommodating requests. Everyone was very personable, the space was lovely and worked really well, I pre-ordered canapes that were generously sized and everyone enjoyed. Highly recommend for anyone looking to book a private space.

One of my favourite pubs in South London and a great venue for a wedding or party. Sam, the manager is a great bloke, and the Urban Wedding Collection team really make sure your day is special. I would 100% recommend this venue to anyone looking for a London wedding venue.

On Saturday 14th December I hosted my 40th birthday celebration at The Railway. I wanted to have an intimate gathering for the 19 of us, and the private area called "The Snug" in the back corner of the pub downstairs did not disappoint! It was beautifully decorated, spacious, with plenty of seating and breakout areas within the space to allow us all to socialise between food. There were some lovely places that worked well for photo opportunities. As we were a big group, we had to pre-order our meal (since it was December this was a festive menu), which was very easy to do online. Sam and Enrico were incredibly helpful and responsive whenever I had questions during the planning phase. They even managed to resolve an issue with one the pre-orders that I only noticed after the deadline to submit very efficiently, which helped a lot with my stress levels. The food was lovely, good sized portions and very tasty. I also really appreciated that the venue had printed placecards with everyone's names and orders on them, so we had a reminder of what we all ordered. It helped with the seating plan and made serving the three course meal straightforward. We were able to use the TV setup to play our own music via Bluetooth, which was perfect, and didn't clash with the music in the rest of the venue. We also brought our own cake and the staff were most helpful in providing a knife to cut it, lighters for the candles and boxes to take the leftovers home. I felt we were very well taken care of by the staff, who were incredibly attentive to any requests we needed, and everyone mentioned what a lovely venue it was. I liked the fact that there was no hire-fee for The Snug, instead a £200 deposit and £1000 minimum spend was required, which is very easily done when you have a big group (the festive menu was £45 for 3 courses). This made it a lot more straightforward to hire out compared to some other venues I'd considered. The Railway is placed in a well-connected area for transport, with Putney Mainline just across the road, and the District Line at East Putney/Putney Bridge not far away. There are also many local buses, all of which makes it a very convenient location. I had the perfect birthday over the four-hour afternoon and I am so glad I chose this venue to host it. It was exactly what I wanted and I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to celebrate an occasion in style and comfort. Thankyou to all the staff at The Railway!

Upon entry i was happily surprised by the amount of beers, Christmas decorations and a live band playing gleeful mood lifters. However the evening took a sour turn when the bouncers, who are quite frankly inadequate miscreants, kicked us out of the small outside area when the public house was open for another hour! An outrage to say the least. I will not be returning to this establishment. Absolute wettys.

Food was excellent. Great place to watch the football. We had a waitress called Siobhan who was very friendly and made sure we were looked after.

Our server, Julian was very welcoming and friendly. He made us feel at home and he was very efficient. The carrot soup was nice as was the roast beef and we shall definitely dine at the Railway again.

On Friday 22nd November we had our Christmas Friendsmas Dinner at The Railway Pub in Putney. We booked the Private area called “the Snug” and arrived to a beautiful set up. They Let us add our own extra decorations, music and use of a TV for our needs . We had a set menu with 2 courses for £35and the food and dessert was great! Our Waiter Panayot was fantastic and worked with the group so well. We had great service all evening and he was always ready to help no matter what we needed! Shoutout to him and the rest of the team. Couldn’t recommend a better place if you have a group of around 12-30

Very posh. Only went in for drinks along a pub crawl. A bit on the more expensive side, but after drinking half of a vodka lemonade, they didn't charge me on a top-up of Sprite.

All i have to say is Chris made my experience amazing. I had stopped drinking in putney after other pubs ruined it for me but Chris has made me want to come back again as soon as possible. The amazing drinks, and brilliant chats made me feel so valued as a customer. Thank you chris, i genuinely wish the best for you and hope the management there appreciates the hospitality you provide

This may be a gastropub for Sunday roasts, but they’re clearly not trying to impress on a weekday lunchtime. I had the salt beef sandwich which had beef so chewy/old it was almost inedible. My partner’s cumberland sausages were tolerable, but far from gastopub quality. And the disabled toilet door didn’t lock. Disappointing. I (not we) was offered a ‘free drink next time’ when they realised these issues … but how are we supposed to claim that if there’s different staff on that day? Forget it - we won’t be back.

Lively and friendly pub, lots of TV's strategically placed for sports. Very cool staff and range of beers. 🤘 We recently went there for dinner and the food was really good, my chicken burger was a little dry, but overall I really enjoyed everything else.

We were at a wedding here last week. The staff were friendly, helpful, kind and accommodating. It was a perfect size for about a max of 40. It looked lovely, warm, intimate. The soft seating area was appreciated especially for older guests, and there was a good space in which to dance. The food was good value and tasty and served promptly. We would recommend this as a venue. The staff went the extra mile to ensure everything worked out for us. Well done The Railway Pub.
