The Railway Hotel in Blackburn with Darwen

Fully open,no food at the moment but still good choice of real ales that rotate .

Just had drinks but always a nice atmosphere and busy (although so small not guaranteed a seat!)

Parked on the car park like we have done for years fined £100 did ring the pub who told me it had notice about this but I never so this wish I had been warned ⚠️

Don’t park on their privately owned car park opposite, you’ll get slapped with a £100 fine which they’ll fail to warn you about

Don't bother. Nipped in for a pint and ended up with a parking fine after using the pubs own car park for a 25 minute stay. Pint was crap as well 👍🏻 Wont be returning.

Just called for a drink after a walk round Witton Park.

A nice place to visit after a walk in the area. Great beers & Cider, friendly, and some sunny seats outside when the sun shines. Very friendly to walkers and dogs. Didn’t have a meal but the crisps were good!.

Went in after a long walk with a few friends. Very good beer and friendly service. Next to Railway Station so very handy.

There are some lovely walks around and a great pub, even got a bowling green.

First time I'd ever been in. Friendly as owt. Staff friendly, clientele friendly and in a welcoming way. The ale was on top form despite being the first pint off that day, which can be precarious in other venues. Loads of railway memorabilia adorning the place. If I lived closer I would make this a local.

Been there today, fantastic staff, fantastic beer and atmosphere. Been on about trying this place for a long time and finally got to go today. The whole area is beautiful.

Best local pub in my opinion. Dog friendly, good beer, great staff and an amazing outdoor area for the summer. What more could you ask for!

Lovely pub and venue! My last visit was marred by some neanderthals and their wo-man blocking the entrances to the loos! On coming back from the loos, the woman spat her drink all over me! No apology, no nothing! Ignorant people!

Just been to the Railway Hotel. Had a game of bowls and decided to have a meal. I ordered steak 'medium' with sweet potato fries. When it arrived with chips we said not a problem as the other meal that was ordered had the sweet potato fries which we were happy to swap over. The steak was like leather, so overdone! When the 'chef' came to check our meals he admitted it was overdone and said he would get me another steak done. The next steak was as if it had been boiled. Water on the plate, pale meat that had never seen a grill!!! The 'chef" said he would be back to see if it was ok and true enough he did come back. I said this is not good as it looked like it had just been in a pan of water. He said he would get the owner. Well, the owner turned up, SLAMMED £10 on the table and told us to 'f***' off, get out and never come back. I said just look at the steak and he said 'f***' off and get out. I found his attitude disgusting as he didn't even ask for our opinion on the food. Will not be returning. Avoid at all costs.

Visited with work colleagues and had a great lunch, a few drinks, and watched the bowls in the sunshine. It's a great little historic pub, very Olde English and the food, staff and atmosphere was exceptional.

Lovely meal and chef and the girls are always great.

Ordered take away Fish Chips and Peas st the bar . Called in waited only 10 minutes. Had a beer (bonus) . Nicely boxed. Really nice. Will call again. Recommended.

We have visited The Railway for meals before and on a night out and is always friendly and welcoming. On Friday 21st December they held the wake for my dads funeral they were very accomodating and show much compassion and the quality of the food was as excellent as always.

What a great friendly place. I had steak and ale pie. The meat chunks where big and tender. Truly amazing.

Friendly and welcoming lots of old pictures of Blackburn especially Bank Top and Feniscowles. It would be a shame to lose this pub too,it has outside seating area.

Far too noisy for a country pub. Hard sound reflecting decor. Sky TV blaring in background forcing everybody to raise their voices.

I class this establishment as my local now and have done for the last twelve months. I live local in Cherry Tree. It is bit of a walk to the pub but It is well worth the walk in winter. My dog loves the open fires, I enjoy a pint of ale, in the summer months we like to sit out in the garden. My young boy of three years old is always welcome. The owners and staff are a lovely bunch of people, they are always smiling and willing to have a good laugh. The chef also cooks up a storm in the kitchen and always asks you how your meal was.

Well we have eaten here before and it was good.However today's little visit left us both disappointed and still HUNGRY. The Sunday roast was the choice for both of us. Roast potatoes to hard and couldn't cut 3 of them.The carrots, sprouts and cauliflower all needed another 10 minutes in the steamer the beef was to pale that we thought it was pork or chicken. I was asked if everything was OK when they came to clear the table and gave them my feed back. Shall think twice before we go again....overall very disappointed. .

Staff extremely friendly, kind and were a brilliant help with our elderly family member. Wide variety of food on the menu and certainly something for everyone. Food delicious and came in good time. Would highly recommend popping in if you're in the area!
