The Railway in Camden

We had a couple of drinks in this London pub close to Liverpool Street station the beer green king ipa was good the bar staff was friendly they sold food but we didn’t eat there they also took camera card which was a welcome discount it does get but I does get busy around 6pm

What happened? Visited a few times over the last year and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The last visit we were made to feel unwelcome. Bar staff too busy to accommodate. TV so loud because bar person was watching something?

Everytime I come to The Railway, three members of staff stand out! Maria, Anäis, and Ayush are outstanding, always serving with smiles on their faces.

Would just like to say a massive thank you to Anäis, Maria and Ayush for making the night so great! Definitely added to the football experience X100! , will definitely keep coming back!

Wentbin a few beers. The team were super friendly and helped choose a craft beer. I had several tasters before choosing Neck oil. Great-pint

£7.50 for a beer. Rip off for a pub that's no different to any others, targeting tourists and bankers. I asked the waitress if she'd got it correct and just got a blank stare back as if that was a normal price... Even for London, that's extortionate.

We had a quick stop off here on our way into central and were pleasantly delighted by not only the quality of the food but also the service. The staff are attentive and friendly..will definitely be stopping here again.

Popped into this great pub again, not too busy seeing as it’s euros, nice, tidy, only one member of staff on, fantastic person called Anais, coped with everything, drinks, food, everyone seemed happy even though Anais seemed a bit under pressure but was so self assured & amazing, everyone was getting served on time & the drinks kept flowing, Anais is an absolute credit to this company, wow, well done Anais 🙂

Great place to have a beer and watch sports as there are loads of TV around the place. Staff always on point so rarely any queues and they know how to pour a beer (a skill lost in a lots of other pubs) , shout out to Ayush.

Fantastic sports pub just next to West Hampstead station, filled with great entertainment, enthusiastic staff and a genuine great atmosphere! Highly recommend to everyone who is in the area or just passing through!

Came to the Railway pub for lunch and drinks to watch the Arsenal vs Man U game! Amazing food and atmosphere. Would 1000% recommend the fish and Chips. Big shoutout to Stella! She is such a lovely bartender, good banter and quick server. Keep it up girl! You’re the reason we always come here!

Went to watch the football, really lovely pub. Stella was really helpful when we wanted to know what the food was like, recommended really lovely dishes & was always super attentive and welcoming when we went to the bar for drinks.

Went to this pub for a pint in the afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing service. The two servers who served me were Dani and Blanche, they were extremely helpful in recommending new drinks and the area in general and I will be sure to come again and have another pint at The Railway in the future!!!

Had a great dinner last night, good ambience and great service. We were served by Ayush, he was really delightful and we loved the chicken katsu burger. We'll definitely be back!

I had a booking for 7pm with 2 other people from my bubble. We were excited as it was our first night out in a long time. Service seemed nice and friendly at the beginning, though one of my friends had to wait a lot for her food.When we got there, we were told that we had 2 hours and that we needed to spend a minimum on food each to order an alcoholic drink. That wasn't a problem for us. One hour after we got there, my friend had just ordered more food and another drink when one of the waiters told us we had only 15 minutes more. The waiters started to blame each other for the 2 hours given in the first place, excusing themselves and the truth is that it was not even busy! One of the waiters was also very rude, staring at us and making us feel uncomfortable so we would leave. Why were we asked to leave first before other people who had been there for longer than us? Nice food but bad service!!

I've been meaning to dine at The Railway for a while now, and I'm certainly glad I did. We had a great night - food, drinks and service was fantastic. We were waited on by Hugo, who was fantastic and helped us navigate the menu! All in all, a great night - I think I've found my new local!

Este pub siempre es cálido y acogedor. Juega todos los juegos deportivos más importantes y aún se siente seguro, ya que ha cumplido con las reglas de Covid - 19 de manera muy efectiva. El personal siempre ha sido muy amable e hizo que cada viaje fuera aún más acogedor. The Railway es un pub encantador, con un gran ambiente. Evidentemente, el chef conoce bien la comida de pub y el personal siempre es acogedor. A mi amigo y a mí nos recomendó Hugo, que fue de gran ayuda cuando nos sirvió, para conseguir los nachos de puerco desmenuzado. Gracias a él, no nos decepcionó porque estaba delicioso. Todo el personal fue excelente y siguió los protocolos de COVID, por lo que me sentí muy seguro en el medio ambiente.

Busy due to six nations. Good bear and other drinks. Lovely roast and chicken burger. Issue with no desserts due to over crowding dealt with by manager in a very professional manner. Shall return.

I booked to have lunch and watch the football on a Sunday. The staff were lovely, they reserved us a perfect table and were really friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our fish & chips and scampi. I have lived in the area for years and never been previously but I regret that - I'll definitely go back!

Food was old my burger taste like rancid, was hungry tried to eat when i reached half i was nearly vomiting, last bite had to spit it on the plate, good coffe tho, staff ofered me a refund on that, not very helpful feel quite ill, hopfully no need of hospital. Shame

I've had many good times drinking and eating in this pub and it never disappoints, always a lovely feel to it whatever time of day. It's a great local to have in West Hampstead. It's also THE place to watch sports. Loads of screens and there's always a good crowd in, even for early morning games such as the current rugby world cup. The atmosphere is brilliant, not least due to the super-friendly landlord Danny who has a fantastic relationship with all his regulars and is spot on with his customer service. Highly recommended!

I was staying in this area for a cricket match and used this as my ''local''. Liked the decor. Beer well priced (for London) and decent selection of real ales. I had one meal here which was very tasty indeed and well presented, and a very generous portion: burger and fries. Will be back.

I attended the pub yesterday for a birthday food and drinks with friends and family. Myself and a family member went to the bar to make a order the women who served us was very unfriendly she had short brown hair she tried to correct me about my order I had placed when I specifically said I wanted a bottle of Peroni due to the deals on the bottles of beer. she then began pouring a pint and when I said I wanted a bottle instead of the pint she then said exact words “well you should have said it before” I found it very rude. I should have asked for her name to be honest and complained there and then to a manager besides that the other bar staff were friendly. The women shouldn’t have an attitude like that serving customers

Entré a comer y me sirvió un tipo llamado Jorge. Era muy educado y bueno para hablar. Pedí alitas calientes, pero cuando salieron parecían sencillas y no había nada de lo que valiera la pena escribir. Él vio mi consternación, vino a verme a mí y a mi comida y cuando le dije que realmente no lo sentía, me trajo más salsa picante y salsa para asegurarse de que estuvieran a la altura. Vine con mi familia con 2 niños pequeños. Ambiente confortable y no demasiado ruidoso (a las 6. 30 pm). El servicio por parte del personal era amable y bueno. Estábamos ansiosos por el tradicional Sunday Roast, pero lamentablemente solo había opciones de carne asada y vegetariana, en lugar del menú completo que también incluía pollo y cordero. Así que conseguimos una carne asada y una de sus principales hamburguesas de carne. La comida era satisfactoria, aunque las papas fritas que venían con la hamburguesa eran demasiado saladas. La hora feliz solo se limitaba a las cervezas y cocteles Peroni; no aplicable a la cerveza de barril (que tiene una selección muy buena!). También probamos el ron, el pan de pasas y el pudin de mantequilla, que sugeriré evitarlo.

Ordered the roast on a Sunday. Pretty poor. Small portion of meat. Roast potatoes were more oven baked than roasted. Feels like they were trying to cover up with lots of gravy.

A great team at The Railway. Live localy and visit on quite a regular basis. Stop in occasionally after the gym or come for a drink & a snack over the weekend with my wife. Team are always friendly & personable. I'm in the hospitality industry myself so understand what it takes to deliver exceptional service. The Railway team have all the boxes ticked.

When I am back in the area I make sure a visit to the railway is on the agenda. Staff who know what they are doing and always working and shock horror can pour different pints at the same time which is great on event days. (Next time you are in a busy pub watch staff pour 1 pint at a time and long you have to wait to be served)

I really enjoy going to my local, it's a great pub with great staff and Great food... Amazing guv'nor!!!

We visited with family for a Sunday roast. The meal took at least 45 minutes to arrive with one order being forgotten to be cooked at all. Roast was so bland, the potatoes and parsnips I’m sure were frozen from a packet and just reheated. They weren’t crispy and looked only half cooked. The mash also was not fresh it was stodgy and bland. The meat was dry and tasteless. All of the dishes came out lukewarm but as we had been waiting so long we ate them anyway. The child’s ‘pizza’ was one of the cheap mini ‘Chicago town’ type ones you get from Iceland. Just over all really bad. This is a lovely pub for a drink and the staff are lovely - but they really need to sort out their food, the menu looked great-the reality was very disappointing.

I have been going to the railway to watch the rugby for the last few weeks the atmosphere was great,but I’m sure the bar staff don’t know how to work the tills as every time I went up for the same round I was charged a different price every time ranging from 10 quid to 13 quid so I changed drinks single JD and coke £4-45 then sent my nephew up for the same and he was charged £6-75 when we asked why they came up with the excuse of he had more coke,so changed my drink to a pint of twickenham ale £4-95 sent my nephew up for the same pint £6-25...wont be drinking here anymore.

My mother and i had lunch here yesterday.The steak and ale pie was Excellent the pastry was lovely with good size chunks of beef.My mothers cheese toasty was very good and her triple cooked chips were one of the best she has had. Katarina from behind the bar was lovely she was very attentive and looked after us very well.We will definitely be back when we visit my daughter again in West Hampstead.

Pretty much what I would say above. I live in West Hampstead. It is a good honest drinking pub with good friendly service and a generally friendly clientele. Excellent place to watch sport - it's mainly a football pub but I've also watched big rugby games in here and it can get busy for those as well. Very efficient service when busy.

As our local pub we wanted to try for Christmas Day..

Terrible - no se hizo ningún esfuerzo en la pantalla de la mesa de Navidad. No había suficientes lugares para los 10 de nosotros. . Hubo 2 mesas redondas aleatorias agregadas al final sin nada. . Sin gafas Nada como el año pasado que fue genial! La comida era asquerosa y fría, no podíamos comerla. Tengo fotos para mostrar! Además, no recibimos mucho de lo que se anunciaba. es decir. Coles De Bruselas, Coliflor De Queso. . Salsa de mariscos, etc. Tomamos casi 30 minutos, entre cada plato, de hecho, tuvimos que ir al bar cada vez para preguntar dónde estaba el próximo plato de comida. ! Luego, los 10 platos salieron en momentos diferentes, así que no pudimos comer juntos. ¿Pensando en que la mayoría de los platos eran iguales? ! ¡Era duro y frío! ¡La tabla de quesos incluía un queso cuadrado de hamburguesa cortado en cuartos! ¡No podía creer lo que veía! ¡Fue un total caos!

Mi marido y yo fuimos uno de los 10 en las críticas anteriores! ¡Tiene que ser la peor comida que he recibido en un pub o restaurante! La mesa no estaba puesta correctamente, no había copas de vino, ¡los asientos eran horribles! No había suficiente espacio, tuvimos que hacer que el personal reorganizara las mesas. Ninguno de los alimentos era como se describe en el menú, verduras de temporada? ¡Qué broma! Tenía 3 trozos de zanahoria cortada en cubitos, una cucharadita de verduras, un trozo de perejil muy poco cocinado y un par de papas asadas muertas, el pavo y el jamón eran la variedad preparada que se obtiene en una comida preparada para Islandia. Mi marido pidió la trucha de mar para su plato principal y me dieron un pequeño trozo de salmón. Después de una serie de quejas de todos nosotros, terminamos pagando la mitad del costo de la comida, ¡pero esto le tomó al gerente interino 3 intentos de obtener la factura correcta ya que ya habíamos pagado nuestros depósitos de 10 libras! Fue bastante vergonzoso para aquellos de nosotros que fuimos aquí la Navidad anterior, ya que pasamos un momento maravilloso con excelente comida, por lo que todos habíamos recomendado comer aquí a nuestros amigos que también asistieron con nosotros. Definitivamente no volveré aquí de nuevo y luego de reflexionar, no creo que debamos haber pagado nada de dinero después de leer otra reseña en la que la gente se negó a pagar nada.

10 de nosotros vinimos para la cena de Navidad el 25/12/2018 y fue terrible. cuando llegamos allí, las mesas se veían horribles, había 4 mesas juntas de diferentes tamaños y formas, simplemente se veían terribles, no había soviéticos, todo estaba lindo por todos lados. Tuvimos que mover las mesas para que todos tuviéramos espacio para sentarnos. No es un buen comienzo. Entonces la cena fue como sobras de la noche anterior. Había un poco de verduras, 1 papa asada en cada uno de nuestros platos y hacía frío, la comida salía con 10 minutos de diferencia, así que no podíamos empezar a comer hasta que todos hubieron. La mayoría de las órdenes estaban equivocadas, era un desastre. Fuimos al ferrocarril el año pasado 2017 para nuestra cena de Navidad y fue increíble. Es por eso que lo recomendamos a nuestra familia para que vinieran con nosotros este año. Fue tan embarazoso. No pagamos la factura completa ya que nos decepcionaron tanto. Cuando pienso en que no deberíamos haber pagado nada, fue tan malo. No volveré el año que viene. Fue un desastre y un embarazoso día de Navidad.

Para empezar. . Mi novio y yo decidimos reservar el almuerzo para nosotros y nuestra familia el día de Navidad para asegurarnos de pasar un buen rato juntos con una comida deliciosa (de acuerdo con lo que cobran como un pub: 50 libras por persona). Lo reservé y pedí comida con al menos un mes de anticipación cuando lo solicitaron. En el día de llegada, no había nadie para saludar a los invitados y ni siquiera "Una Feliz Navidad". . ni siquiera "hola chicos"! Decepcionante primera impresión. Nos dijeron que les avisáramos una vez que estemos listos para pedir nuestra comida. Para pedir nuestras bebidas tuvimos que ir al bar y, además de eso, esperar un buen rato para recibir a nuestros (¡horrible!!!) Entrantes. La comida era muy básica, no muy sabrosa. ¡Encontramos que los camarones que pedimos eran CRUDOS! ! ! ! Además de eso, la camarera que, de hecho, no fue cortés en absoluto, dijo: ¡Se supone que debo comerlos CRUDOS! Tuve que discutir con ella que nadie había comido gambas crudas, ¡estaban totalmente crudas! Al final me dijeron que "¡tómalo con calma!"

As I sit here in this terrible pub I literally cannot think of the appropriate words to describe the terrible service in this pub. To start with we ordered six meals, to which one was ordered with onion rings which were firstly forgetting (which is usually understandable once in a while) but when it was pointed out a short, abrasive reception was and onion rings were slammed down in front of us with payment demanded immediately 20 minutes later. Then we asked for mulled cider which the railway offers and we had been drinking, they stated to each other that they were run out but failed to tell us as the customers, then the bartenders (x2) didn't know how to pour box wine (As in they didn't know how to get it out of the bag!!!) We onky knew this as they didn't say anything to us even though we were standing at the bar for 10 minutes watching. I'm all for learning and training- we understand not everyone has had the worldly privilege of drinking box wine(!) However a degree of professionism and polietness wlukd have been respected. We then sat back down, handed our like warm cider 20 minutes later with a very rude hand held out with demands to collect our money. When we questioned how rude it was we were literally ignored and the bartenders walked away with our money without acknowledging our existence.

Fui al ferrocarril después de trabajar con un amigo. Es sólo 2 minutos a pie de la estación de West Hampstead. Era viernes y estaba zumbando. Estuvimos encantados de conseguir una mesa al final del pub con cómodos sofás y cojines.

Después de una visita reciente al estadio de Wembley para la NFL, un amigo nos recomendó que abandonáramos nuestra ruta habitual y recomendó este pub como un refugio de las colas regulares de metro después del evento.

Fuimos en Final de Copa/Boda Real Día esperando ver cinco de profundidad en el bar, pero me sorprendió gratamente encontrar un número suficiente de personal para tratar con el extra números.
