I went today 23/11 with three girlfriends, my first visit but definitely not my last. We had the best afternoon tea I've ever had and I've tried a lot! It was special because whilst there was plenty of cake there was lots of savoury too with sausage rolls, quiche, volovants and wholemeal bread finger sandwiches. It really was delicious. Thank you. 😁😋 xx

Went to day for lunch with my sisters and niece. First time for them. The lunch we had was great, a steak and cheese toastie on tiger bread. Very tasty and filling, came with salad and crisps. We had a slice of freshly made cake which was to die for. Would recommend going. A very warm welcome by all at Queen of Bakes will definitely be back soon.

Lovely. A beautiful and welcoming, calm place to visit. Lovely freshly made sandwiches and luscious home made cake. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will have to come back for the afternoon tea!

Visited with my partner and daughter after my partner had visited the week b4 with her 2 friends for tea and cake, I had an amazing pannini that they adapted to cater for my request, my partner had a sandwich which comes with salad and crisps for a great price and our daughter had a jacket potato also with the same garnish , tea for 2 and a juice .followed by 3 amazing cakes to take home as no room in our bellies at lunch .Lou who was the owner was lovely like a friend more than a stranger who u have just met. Had long conversations and she even gave some cake baking advice for our daughter who showed an interest. We will be back soon and would recommend a visit to anyone , or look at her web page for private buffet ,/cake services .The Queen of bakes.

I commissioned Lou to make 60 wedding cupcakes and an 8 inch wedding cake. I asked for cupcakes in the first picture (flower designs) however I wanted the colours to reflect my wedding flowers (picture attached). I sent images of what I wanted, Lou said that was fine and I was charged £2.50 a cake. I got sent a picture of the cupcakes at 9pm the night before the wedding saying she had finally finished. The cupcakes (attached) looked nothing like the flower cakes I had asked for. Perhaps I should have said something at the time and asked her to redo all 60, but I didn’t and decided to get on it with and express my dissatisfaction afterwards. Furthermore instead of the 8inch wedding cake I paid for, I was delivered a 6 inch cake (I was offered a partial refund for this afterwards when I complained). I complained after the wedding, expressing that the cupcakes look nothing like the picture. The lack of detail was painfully obvious and I just wished I was told on the commission that the detail would not be possible. Not commit to deliver the cakes and then under deliver. I would have gone somewhere else to get the cakes I wanted. Lou replied with a “I’m sorry you feel this way” and a long (defensive) message saying it’s the colours fault (among other reasons). The colours (although I am not sure the colours reflect the picture of the flowers) were not the issue, it was the detail. Lou did say she was not happy with the cakes herself, and I pointed out that if this was the case why did she not call me after icing 20 and say they don’t look great and offer an alternative, instead of icing 60 cakes that all frankly look like they belong at a children’s birthday. I requested a partial refund as I was told that £2.50 a cake reflects the level of detail in each cake, however was refused. Overall, the cakes were nothing like the ones I paid for and a massive disappointment, and I never did receive a proper apology. If you are a professional charging professional prices, then deliver a professional service. If you can’t, don’t commit in the first place, and if you underdeliver then hold your hands up and give a proper, genuine apology. I didn’t receive either. Cakes did taste good but I wouldn’t wish the same disappointment on another bride.

Absolutely loved the kebab, I had it delivered and you can clearly taste and see that the meat was fresh, succulent and juicy. The chips were crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. My favourite spot, would absolutely recommend!!

Great takeaway. From a taste perspective; no issues at all. Very appetising food. From a health point of view, using certain cooking oils — particularly highly processed industrial vegetable oils (rapeseed, sunflower) can carry health consequences as these oils are toxic, especially when exposed to heat and deep fat fryer temperatures, they very easily oxidise and become toxic to consume. Tallow or lard for deep frying is better as it has a higher smoke point and isn't processed. Using these cost-effective oils does cut a takeaway's production costs, but passes a health cost onto the consumer unfortunately. If they don't change the cooking oil in the deep fat fryer often then that makes the oils even more potentially rancid and toxic. So, a double whammy effect! But, this is a widespread issue seen commonly in takeaways across the country, not just this one. And raising awareness is key for ensuring best practices for customer safety. Lastly, I am not a fan of them using plastic tupperware, as it leaches BPA into the food. Please note that even non-BPA plastics are said to leach certain chemicals. Hot takeaway food causes these plastics to release chemicals into the food.
