We ate dinner here on Friday evening. The restaurant opens at 7pm. On check in at the hotel we were not asked if we'd like a table in the restaurant. The staff appeared to have good intentions but lacked training. For example they couldn't answer simple questions (e.g. could something from the lounge menu be served in the restaurant or what ale was available). Between us we had a few main courses - the belly pork was fatty and not crispy, so very disappointing. Fish pie was ok, but nothing special and the beef was ok. It seemed quite expensive for what it was. Poor choice of non alcoholic beverages. Quite amusing to watch some of the scenarios...the staff bring in a party of 6 to a table with 4 chairs then rushing to find chairs! So much potential that could be exploited with some more attention to the customer experience. Please help your staff to deliver that potential.

As expected from a Nando’s but did mess up my order and then take quite a while getting it to me. Other than that waitress was great

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID - AT ALL COSTS!!! After spending £14.40 in Telford Tesco's cafe upstairs today 'James' the 'Manager' wanted me to pay for another drink, for another cup & saucer (which I would not drink, since the pot of tea purchased was adequate enough, as my daughter didn't like the medium latte purchased at £3.40 a pop!) After he plonked the very small jug of milk on the counter he said under his breath, 'we're not a charity'. I don't expect this Cafe to be a charity but as a fee-paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect don't you think? Note to 'James' - since you refused to give me your full name or your manager's name (you lied since he/she does exist according to Tesco), I have lodged a formal complaint with Tesco's manager at customer services (Steve Joyce). I don't expect anything will change for the better & suspect, it'll be brushed under the carpet. You should undergo some form of customer service training since, you clearly lack the skills required, to deal with members of the public i.e. your customers, in a professional & respectful manner. If you're chasing the money but don't seem to be having the footfall expected (since the cafe seemed to be too quiet for a lunchtime, even on bank holiday), maybe have a think about how you treat your customers - we're not all freeloaders - as you seem to suggest about me. From now on, I will spend my hard earned cash (I do work for a living) & go to Costa or Starbucks, not far from this cafe instead (& maybe, they'll give me a cup & saucer for free - now that"s a concept). In summary, staff on till/chef - ok, food - good, latte - terrible - shame about the manager! To confirm, 0 (Zero) Stars - inadequate & needs drastic improvement by removing 'James' pronto!
