We had a funeral here and the service was excellent and the food good quality.

Fab place for fab pub grub!!! Definitely for big eaters as my fish goujons were the size of a shark, and I had 6 🦈🤣. Lovely staff very friendly and very helpful.. Spent the whole afternoon there catching up with friends. Plenty of red wine flowing. Big bonus my dog joined us and enjoyed too. Fab food fab service.. Excellent value for money. It's not my 1st time here, I've been here lots. They do an amazing Sunday lunch too. Well worth popping in I guarantee you.

This was our first time here and we were extremely pleased with the service and quality of food. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite and service was impeccable. Most definitely visit again!

We went for a birthday lunch, and our friend booked the table. He mentioned that this pub is quite famous and dates back to the 15th century — over 100 years old! The interior inside the pub is amazing, full of charm and character. Our food was fantastic, and I’m glad we didn’t order appetizers because the portions were very generous. I had the cod, while my friends enjoyed the chicken and gammon steak — all of which were delicious. The service was excellent, with staff regularly checking in to ensure everything was perfect. It’s a great spot, and I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area!

Nice little pub. It's probably best to book as very popular. Fish and chips are always good. We also had the steak which was also good and cooked as ordered.

Lovely pub with a good bit of history

Really impressed we had vegetable soup as a snack which was thick and tasty. Looking at other dishes around us good proportions and not pricey, would recommend them. We'll be treating this pub as a pitstop on our way to and from West Wales

Blandest food I've had in living memory. Chips tasted of nothing, curry was flavourless. A real disappointment. Staff and atmosphere was nice

I don't know whether history can make food taste better but it certainly did at the Prince of Wales. The quality was excellent and the service first class. Really busy from noon onwards but still didn't feel rushed. Will call again.

Food was excellent.. our 3rd Xmas dinner at restaurant but must say it was the best as the turkey was succulent & enjoyable

Had a wonderful meal In this lovely pub beautifully decorated, love the stone on the walls really authentic. Lovely man with lots of choice and they cover lots of different food types too. We went for the fish and chips, which was wonderful. Cannot fold the food or the service. Thank you so much.

Great service by all the waitresses , very organised in getting all the food out together. We was a table of 14 and all the food came out at the same time. We had the Sunday dinner and there was ample veg and gravy boats provided. Food was flavoursome and tasty. The pub was welcoming and all staff went above and beyond. We loved the roaring fires dotted around it really made the atmosphere cosy

Arrived in south wales today and met some friends for a catch up and food. This place was amazing highly recommended. The food was delicious hot and plentiful. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Parking was a nightmare but overall a wonderful evening thanks you x

Brill pub. Fab staff. Good food could have been so much better with hot plates. Food goes cold easily. Dissapointed no senior citizens or child dinners. Far too much good food wasted by too much for me at 80 years old. Will probably be back

The pub is on a road with moderate traffic. It was very crowded, but there was enough parking space. There are indoor seating with service. In the outdoor area you have to go to the counter to order drinks and food. The service is friendly. The meal was excellent. Due to the wonderful location with a view of the sea at sunset, it was extremely crowded, which also made it very noisy. We were traveling in a motorhome and were allowed to spend the night in the parking lot.

Visited with friends group of 4 Food and service very good 👍 I had lamb chops which were very meaty and tasty with mash Only negative was mixed veg which I guess was frozen atmosphere was very good

Great place excellent beer too

We called in on the offchance for lunch on our way to a festival in Dorset and were accommodated by the pub's friendly staff team. As it was a sunny summer's day, many were seated out in the pub garden and along the roadside, with great views across Somerset. I was impressed by the good range of local ciders and real ales. We enjoyed our lunch (Ham, egg and chips + Korma curry); and resisting the temptation for a dessert, settled up and went on our way. However, on the way out one of the staff said she needed helping out with some surplus desserts. Naturally, we had to oblige! This country pub, although added to extensively over the past five decades or so, retains it original character and features. Well worth the climb up Ham Hill for the privelege of a drink and/or some food here!

Booked at the last minute but comfortably fitted in. The food was delicious and especially the battered fish which was so fresh.

We were recommended to try the Prince of Wales as we were in Pyle for a couple of nights and we were not disappointed. We rang at short notice to ask availability and we were fitted in which we were very grateful for. The food was amazing and delicious, the best meal we have had in a long time and the pricing is very reasonable. We hope to visit again while we are here.

Lovely pub and I enjoyed the decor and the feel of the place. The food was extremely tasty and quite reasonable priced but took a while to come to the table. However the staff do need to be a little bit more welcoming.

Arrived on the off chance of an early Saturday dinner, with no reservation. They were unable to accommodate us which was fine. But the demeanour of the barman who spoke with us was way off to the point that had a table been offered, we would’ve declined. Ate at The Angel a stones throw away and were treated well with good food to match.

Average food average service, madras currynthat tasted nothing like it and a tasteless 3 bean chilli, even the beer was average.

Historic place with a lovely atmosphere, outstanding home produced food and a wonderful team. Wonderful all round tbh. Gravity poured cask ales 😋

Delicious cuisine and fantastic customer service

Nice old pub and beer lovely. Had Sunday lunch but prefer fresh meat off joints and fresh veg that is not prepacked or frozen. A little disappointed as had good reviews and seemed expensive for what it was despite good portions. Not a gastro pub but I'm sure good ordinary pub grub. Will come back to try their normal menu some day I'm sure but not on a Sunday again.

I love the prince, everything about it is pleasing. The food the beer the staff and the building, plus the view they all add to the experience. A great place all round, for a meal or a cheeky pint of excellent beers.

Only had a drink in here but good friendly service we sat in the snug as that's the only part that's dog friendly but the locals there were friendly and talkative. Food looked good and will have a meal next time up.

Haven't been here since we left Porthcawl in 2017 when the Landlord/Landlady at the time were the most obnoxious couple u had ever met! He had created a culture of his cronies hanging around the bar with his Wife being foul mouthed! However the meals were 10/10! Now the bar culture has gone and the current Landlord has a more professional approach! Sadly the meals are not a patch on their predecessors. The laverbread/cockle starter was just laverbread no cockles! The trio of lamb chops was poor, cheap frozen mixed veg which was awful! The meals have lost the charisma of the previous people, even the minted gravy was Bisto! I don't think I'll be rushing back!

First class food, service. We were staying in the area and this pub was said to be good. Called up to see if they had table free.

Been here many times, however today was woeful, the fish was over cooked.

Being seated upstairs is not the best place when the pub is busy, drinks order taken quickly by a very friendly waitress, and then a different person took our Sunday lunch order, the meal was plentiful but over salted, after clearing the plates a different waitress again gave us the dessert menu and never came back, various other staff cleared tables around us , but not one came to take our order or even ask if we wanted any more drinks. Ended up paying for dinner and leaving disappointed.

Booked Sunday Lunch for wife’s Birthday, splendid meal, first class service, I would highly recommend The Prince of Wales Pub. Great atmosphere. Thank you. We’ll be back.

Wonderful service food excellent hygiene standard Also excellent

My partner took me there for a birthday meal and it was the best steak that I've had in a long time. My partner had a chicken korma, which she really enjoyed also. The service was excellent, and prices were reasonable. I will definitely be making more visits in the future.

A very quiet evening in the bar area

Food excellent, service staff polite and efficient. We were in the small room at the back near the kitchen, and the room could have been a bit warmer on winter's day.

A classic proper Welsh pub. Big portions with great food. Atmosphere in secondary seating area could do with work, as top down lighting was very bright and felt canteen ish. Main part of pub very nice with lots of history.

This hasn't happened to me before, I walked in and ordered a drink, picked up a menu, and a gentleman behind the bar said, "If you want food, I'll have a table in a moment. People are just leaving " Then he said " we will look after you" And that was what swung it, food staff ,atmosphere, setting everything just worked. So enjoyable thank you 😊

Stopped at this place for some food on way home. Staff showed us upstair to a banquet hall. They were very helpfull. The for was amazing and bountiful.

Lovely warm welcome when we arrived. Our 2 large dogs and noisy Grandson managed to take over the whole snug, but the locals were so friendly and took to them straight away. The food was great and the staff were lovely. Will hopefully be back one day

We made a planned stop here on our way to Solva. Lovely old pub with two cask ales on. We ate here and the food was home cooked and very generous portions. We could not eat in the main part of the pub as we had our dog with us. We were in a side room near the bar. The atmosphere was great, very lively and lots of chat between the locals and walkers (visiting the nature reserve) who had popped in for a drink or a bite to eat.

Sunday lunch was mostly frozen veg and frozen roast potatoes

Only a brief visit but really enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the wonderful view with a nice pint of Bass.

Wonderful place. Anyone could spend time just looking at the walls. The history of the place and surrounding, is so fascinating. The real ale [I recommend pints of BASS, but other exotic concoctions are sign posted at the bar. ]. It's a wondrous place and ticks everything in my hand book and bucket list!. A must visit pub for its warmth and history.

Too many filthy dogs. People are more important. Dogs should Not be allowed in adult drinking venue's. Never again and will not recommend.

Brill traditional pub, great portions, lovely staff.

A very good meal here. We booked for a family of 7 and they were able to fit us in. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. There is a lot of choice on the menu. The pies were very tasty. The chips are also very good and well worth the extra calories! Based on the recommendations on trip advisor, I did go for the spotted dick pudding and it was very tasty.
