This is a lovely pub tucked away behind Old St tube and close to the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch. The decor and atmosphere are great and the staff are welcoming and attentive. There is a wonderful function room upstairs (which you can hire) with a lovely little balcony that overlooks the street. The drinks are great too! I would definitely recommend this lovely little boozer!

Saturday 9pm, moderately crowded inside, a dozen people outside on picnic tables. Overall a good vibe with a mix of 20/30-somethings and a few older folks. Smallish pub, “homey” decor. Only thing I didn’t like was the beer selection. Fair…a couple of lagers, one or two pale ales, Guinness. Decent but nothing to take note of. Others mentioned a dodgy feel….i didn’t get that sense at all. Add a few rotating taps and this is a “5” in a no-frills, laid back way.

Despite being in a very random location, this pub is a hidden gem. With exceptional drinks prices and games to play, it's great for indoor or outdoor drinks. Just note that after dark this pub is in a slightly sketchy area.

This pub is not exactly the place you would go with a partner or friends. It is very much suitable to find a companion for the night, in fact, it should have been called "The Pull". Drinks are very expensive in particular spirits. There is not a big selection of beers either and they sometimes are served warm. I have been there several times with friends until the last time a friend of mine was asked if she wanted to visit the upstairs private area and returned after a while. The atmosphere did not feel right so we decided to go somewhere else.

Felt absolutely ripped off, they charged us £13.00 for a double gin plus mixer!!!! Shame as a local pub but obviously thought they could rip of some tourists 😡

We had a venue pull out the week of our Hen Do and The Prince Arthur was very accomodating in helping us out extremely last minute! The Manager and Staff were super nice, and made a very stressful situation feel managed and under control. The private room we hired was a perfect space for our Hen activity, and nice an airy/cool on a hot London day. The pub itself has a great vibe, more like your classic British pub which is refreshing change compared to the Shoreditch bars/clubs.

Actually, even more it survives in Shoreditch. Literally, i was staying on Old Street and the name of the pub and it being slightly off the beaten track appealed to me. I had to go that way anyway. The somewhat frosted glass made it difficult to peer in - but went for it. And what a find. It was like being back in our Somerset village pub (but clearly with a Shoreditch-twist). Just looked so authentic. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink and ended up chatting to a 'local'. It really was a pleasant hour spent. I was informed that on a Thursday and Friday it can get a bit packed in there. But this was a calm Monday evening - and an enjoyable one at that. I will be back.

1. It's an actual pub. We're talking traditional wooden aesthetic, beautiful facade, ton of ales, loads of regulars. It hasn't been sanitised by the gentrification of the area, nor is it a dive. 2. It's a hidden gem in a prime location. 2min from Old St tube BUT on a quiet back street with no traffic. Even on a Saturday you can have a conversation and find a place to sit. 3. Easy to contact for bookings and queries. Pubs are usually s**t at email and phone - these guys are on it when you want to make a booking and will try to help you out if you're in a bind for space. 4. Amazing upstairs you can book with a balcony for £50 fee... The space is also deceptively accomodating in number. I've squeezed +40 ppl in with the balcony. 5. The pub team. Kate is a brilliant manager (always let's the bar know when there's a big booking and tries to accommodate our needs) and the barstaff bother to get know your name and make sure you're having a good time. Recently booked a big event with a few neurodivergent people in it and the staff were very understanding of their needs and that what may look like intoxication is actually something else! Not every pub would believe you! Honestly, part of me doesn't want to write this review for fear word gets around. But it's only fair. This pub and the team are f*****g awesome. Can't keep it to myself.

Sat at bar. Told to move. So don't put stools at the bar if you don't want people sitting on them. Beer ok, pork scratchings stale. Well TripAdvisor wastes peoples' time.No need to write >100 chrs for this.Pointless exercise. No more to say. Sat at bar. Told to move. Starved for authentic London fare, we enjoyed the wonderful vibe and were offered samples of beer on tap. The food was good but it was the same menu at our last stop. Chain? I guess one corporation owns several pubs in the area.

We are 5 guys who have a regular meet up in the City, but for the 2nd time we decided to have a drink here due to pubs directly in the City being chokka because the 'xmas drinkers' are out in force, although the pub was very busy , we were served immediately by friendly staff, pub has great atmosphere and will be drinking more regularly here in new Year, we didn't eat, so cannot comment on food, but great , friendly little pub with great atmosphere, thank you

We went to this pub on our last visit to London, with each drink we were given nibbles, nuts, cheese biscuits, and were offered a picked egg. Not this time though, nice pub though, not spoilt by chainification, keeps its traditional charm. We were going to pop in last night on our last day, but was closed...

nicely decorated, not made too themed, good range of drinks and not too pricey, complementary nibbles brought to the table although we declined the pickled eggs :) friendly staff, plenty of seating and when it isnt raining outside seating would be good as not on a busy road.

This has been my local from work for over 10 years and used to be a typical east end boozer run by a charismatic and lovely couple, the landlord Dixie was a boxer back in the 60s, and it was sad when he retired, but...

Good staff, excellent food. All round a good experience! Coming from Scotland, it’s the best Indian I’ve ever had 👍

As always a lovely night out at the Jolly Butchers. Their Indian street food is fab and the atmosphere is chilled. Have been coming here for years and it never misses a beat.

Really lovely staff! Super great service! Georgia was a particular star, she constantly made sure me and my friend were satisfied and was super friendly! Would recommend this pub to anyone going for a cheeky pint after work. Special thanks to Georgia and the rest of the staff that made the visit memorable!

Date: 17July22 Time 2:00pm Horrible customer service from a staff member this girl needs to learn how to speak to paying customers, I had ordered a large fish and chip with some extras, waited 14min, so I thought I get up and ask roughly much longer it would take. I saw a staff member using her mobile phone an thought she’s free and behind the counter, I’ll ask her. I said hi there how are you with a smile. She reply’s with “Can’t you see theirs only one till” and “you have to wait in the line to order” very rudely. I was so shocked. To which I replied with “I’ve already ordered miss just wanted to know how long my order will be because “the kids are hungry”. That’s not how you talk to customers if someone asks you “how are you”, your reply should be I’m fine thank you how are you or how may I help. But it didn’t stop there when she brings the food over to the table as shes shouting my name, I lifted my hand to say I’m here. so when she see’s its me she comes over and says I need to repeat what I ordered and “we don’t bring food to the table.” Like I Asked her to bring the food to the table in the first place, and I was going to eat someone else’s meal with my kids. Didn’t I just lift my hand up to say it’s me. After some debating with her she leaves the food on the table and walk off with a very angry expression, doesn’t even say enjoy your meal. Not all bad, the was one young lady wearing a New York jersey top with the number 16 on it and glasses she was very pleasant and polite. (Thank you for the cups of ice). maybe this girl needs to take some pointers from her on how to speak to customers. I understand that this fish and chip shop has a certain type of customers and I didn’t look like them or my skin colour didn’t match their clientele, because of the location it’s in. that’s why I was spoken to very rudely buy this staff member. Food was good 6/10, chips where soggy but I like soggy chips some customers might not like it tho. Large fish differently not large more medium size. may not ever return because of the way I was spoken to. Really sad to see some people still judge you buy way you look or your skin colour. “Despicable”.
