The Post House Bar & Grill in Stafford

My second visit to the post house, and what a lovely experience.. first time was for an anniversary meal, we opted for the 3 course week night meal.. really lovely cooked steak.. this time around I had the afternoon tea.. it was exceptional.. my mom was blown away by the choice of cocktails.. the decor is gorgeous, and the staff were very attentive, especially poppy.. we had a fantastic afternoon.. I would highly recommend it here.. and I’ll definitely be returning.

My husband and I visited the post house for Sunday lunch the food was excellent as usual but we feel that our server Darcy should be mentioned she was attentive to us and other customers and professional in her role making the experience so much more enjoyable.

This was our first time at the Post House. We went with friends who had recommended it and it was just as they described! The food was amazing, well presented and so tasty. Lots of choice on the menu. The building itself looks stunning inside. So many different quirky rooms. Service was spot on! The waitress and waiter could not have been more attentive! Unfortunately I can’t remember their names. We will certainly return and have recommended to lots of our friends! Thank you for a lovely evening.

We had our Wedding here on 14th May 2025, it was the most amazing day thanks to Ellen and the fabulous Chefs and waiting team. The food was outstanding, the attention to detail was more than anything we could have imagined. From the minute we enquired until the end of our day nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend The Posthouse for a Wedding, it was perfect in every way and everyone made it the best day of our lives. Thank you so much to everyone involved x

We visited for a few drinks and dinner in the sunshine Sunday afternoon. Grace H was absolutely incredible and so attentive with a very smiley and friendly manner. If it wasn’t for her service I wouldn’t be doing this review. Grace H went above and beyond and I would feel very happy to have her on my team. An absolute credit to you all

Excellent The best ild fashioned cocktail I have had. We had a sharing platter in the bar which again we said it was the best we has for a long while Service spot on cant wait to go again

We went on Christmas Day. Absolutely incredible from start to finish. Amazing welcome with champagne shown to our seats and canapés arrived while we looked at the wine list. 7 course of the most amazing food, friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. The staff we so helpful and really felt they wanted to get here even though it was Christmas Day. We spent 3 hours drinking chatting and eating and felt so spoilt. Just incredible

Excellent pre theatre visit & great service from Millie. We went off the lunch menu as we arrived before 18:00. The quality of food was top notch and excellent value.

What a find! After the most miserable welcome from the most miserable barman (also remarked on by other customers) at our usual lunch spot we found The Post House. Couldn’t fault anything. Stylish decor, top class meet and greet, excellent service, great value set lunch, and I could wax lyrical about so much more. But I won’t, except to mention our waiter Shane. Five star plus for this young man from Mrs Picky. Helpful, polite and attentive without being intrusive.

Stunning restaurant, decorated so well for Christmas. Service, food and drinks were exemplary!! We will be back again for definite. The Sunday lunch was Amazing!!

Visited Post House for lunch with family celebrating a wedding and a birthday. The food, staff and atmosphere were perfect. Food reasonable priced staff very attentive.

We came here last Saturday for a private dining experience in the Horton Suite - it was for 13 of us (all work colleagues) - we had dealt with Ellen via email who made the whole booking experience quick & easy. We had pre-ordered our food in advance along with some drinks, all these were ready upon arrival. The food arrived promptly, all accurate and was extremely well cooked and tasty! There was no rush as we had the room for the night, so was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress Erin was fantastic, a lovely character that made us all laugh, a real credit to The Post House - she works very hard! Overall a great experience that I am sure we will replicate in the future!

The food, staff and ambience of the the restaurant was brilliant. I would have given 5 stars but as a disabled blue badge holder the experience was badly affected by the fact that there is no convenient disabled parking facilities.

My grandson and his beautiful wife had there reception here.i have to say this and brings tears to my eyes(, if I go on I apologise)my husband is in a wheelchair and cannot walk more than a few feet, so is in his wheelchair while we're out.the staff here are the most caring and kindest human beings you could meet.the extent they looked after my hubby when going up and down the few steps, and doing anything in general they were by our side.the post house is the most beautiful venue you could choose beautifuly laid our, and wheelchair accessible. The food we had was really good nicest food i,ve eaten out in a long time,compliments to the chefs and kitchen staff. .the place is spotless, it has a great atmosphere and all ages happy and having fun.there is a beautiful open terrace on the roof accessible by a lift or grand staircase, there are tables out front too,its a very grand building to look at and very well maintained The location in town is great,not far from parking. So my advice book a cell or just go in for a drink ,I,m looking forward to going again.you would have to work hard to find lovely young men/women like the staff here at the post .caring,sharing kind people house(saying young because we're old)

We booked for lunch for our wedding anniversary with our daughter and baby . The staff were just superb .everyone wished us a happy anniversary and there was a card on the table from the team . They bought a happy anniversary cake platter as a surprise . The food was excellent and it was difficult to choose as such a varied menu . I could not more highly recommend and it really made our day very special

Lovely pre- theatre dinner spot. Lots of choice on the menu . The Asian salad with halloumi was excellent. Nice cocktails in a beautiful setting .

I hired the private champagne room for my best friends special birthday party. We had food and drinks. The standard of both the food and the service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble ! Special mention the Ryan the manager who helped me for a whole hour before the party setting up the display screen for the pictures I’d prepared. Our waitress Jodie served us all individually including payments! We did not go a moment without drinks the service was on the whole exceptional. Would highly recommend any special occasion you won’t be disappointed 5*

Went for sunday lunch ,all four of us had the roast, choice of turkey, lamb, beef or a mix of all three ,very good value for money, the roast potatoes were lovely, millie, our waitress was very helpful and friendly, would definitely go back ,it wasn't overly busy which suited us ,can't say what it would be like on a Saturday night, because it's the first time we had been

Afternoon tea a Mother’s Day treat from and with my Daughter 👍 What a lovely treat a selection of sandwiches cakes and scone with a glass of fizz to start followed by tea or coffee of your choice 😀 I would definitely recommend this eatery the food and service was outstanding! Disappointing experience. Visited with family for brunch following a lovely previous experience in January. This time it was completely different experience. Brunch was booked for 10.15 and at this time the restaurant was not busy just one other table. Waited ages to receive drinks and take order. Food then took ages to arrive and looked like it had been sat waiting for ages. I ordered grilled halloumi - toast was burnt and eggs looked like they were battered and completely solid. Waitress was very apologetic about the wait and other staff seemed stressed.

Attended with my husband and baby on a weekday for lunch. We're very welcomed. They were very accommodating for our baby who doesn't eat much. High chair was ready for our arrival and it was clean! (Which is rare these days!) The venue is stunning. Such a lovely place for any occasion. Thank you for a lovely lunch!

My colleague and I were having a business lunch . Our server Erin was simply superb from start to finish.She knew when the right time was to approach the table as we were in deep conversation. Great evening out, Niamh was our server great service very friendly and professional as are all the staff. The food was nothing short of excellent and a great atmosphere well worth a visit.

Beautiful food and great service from Freya. The only disappointing part were the olives and feta. Very strange way of serving them which meant you didn’t get many olives and couldn’t get to the feta as it was in tiny pieces amongst the ice. We just would have appreciated a nice full bowl full of olives and feta given it costs £8.50!

Came here as a walk in whilst visiting Stafford intending to have a drink and small plates, however we were offered the restaurant due to a pervasive and unpleasant perfumed smell from the air con (which was much more evident in the bar area). We decided on a main course with wine and the food was fabulous. Would highly recommend the fillet steak and chargrilled chicken skewer. Server Freya was very attentive and a nice touch was the complementary small chic/fruit board for my wife’s birthday the day previous. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again 👍

We visited the Post House for Valentine's Day 2023, and had an excellent experience at the time. But we never re-visited until April 2024, which in hindsight is a bit of a mistake. Service was excellent, food divine, atmosphere perfect. We will not wait so long to return.

Took the mrs here for a few cocktails on a recent date night. Was served by a man called callum who was very attentive throughtout the night and was going the extra mile wherever possible. Quality and presentation of the drinks was 10/10 aswell, will...

The best dining experience this year. Excellent quality food, presented beautifully. Our table served very well by Millie. Back again with family in April to try vegetarian options.

Great place, lovely decor. Exceklent selection of drinks. The staff are very friendly and are attentive with the table service, especially Millie abd Freya. Lovely function room upstairs. The food is to a very good standard and i go regularly.

We recently celebrated at friends 60th birthday with lunch at The Post House - fabulous food and great service from the team there. Can’t wait to come back and try the new menu.
