The Podger in Leeds

Myself and a friend met at The Podger for drinks and food. We were given a warm welcome by Sarah who helped us choose the best place to sit for our needs. Ordering the food was easy and the Bar Man asked us how we would like the food cooking and choices of sauces and condiments. We were both amazed by the quality of the food for the price and the prompt service considering the pub was very busy. We would give our visit 5***** and will be going back soon Well done to Management and Staff

This restaurant does NOT accommodate for everyone. I can’t have any dairy and not one item on the menu was suitable for me. I wanted to get the southern fried chicken rap but the coat the chicken in buttermilk. I asked if they could just do it with egg, flour and breadcrumbs and seasoning but they said no because it’s already pre made. The main waiter came over to me and said they can do me a plain grilled chicken rap but then he came back and said that they also cover the plain chicken in milk. No idea why. We went through the whole menu and the ingredients and every single item contains milk and there was also not a single vegan option of food. I ended up eating a small bowl of chilly heat wave Doritos that they brought me in a tiny bowl, no more than 5 Doritos. Then on the bill they charged me £5.26 for it. Absolutely joke. I spoke to the manager and he took the price off. Not good enough at all !!! Will not be going again and I don’t recommend this place to anyone with food preferences as you will probably end up with nothing.

A lovely place to meet up with my family, the fish and chips were amazing . The staff are so friendly and very helpful.

Came in last friday with a friend of mine around 6 o clock the food was flat cold and took an hour to get to begin with, bar staff slurring words and other bar staff smelling of weed

A friend and I take our babies here on a semi-regular basis and always have the best time. The food is good and is a fantastic price. The staff are gems, and so family friendly! Can’t recommend this place enough.

We had lunch on Monday. My daughter, her boyfriend and Grandaughter. Great friendly service and tasty food. Really good meal deals. We had fish and chips they were delicious. Nice friendly touch was automatically bringing a spare plate with a small knife and fork for my Grandaughter. The pub was clean and well presented. Sat chatting to a lovely gent who was clearly a regular. Will definitely go again and highly recommend.

This is a good local pub offering a good selection of food and drinks. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We tend to visit lunch time or early evening and have not needed to reserve a table. The steak menu is a good option. There is also an excellent childrens menu with plenty of choices.

I went to The Podger a few weeks ago with my sister & our granddaughters for lunch & have to say I’m so glad we did. I took my husband for lunch last Sunday & we took our friends for lunch on Friday & they were all as impressed as I was. The staff are so friendly & welcoming, the food is delicious & the prices are really reasonable. I am gluten free & the choice is really good, the staff were really attentive to my needs & really went the extra mile to accommodate me, the lady behind the bar(I don’t know her name) remembered me & was really lovely & helpful. The children’s menu is really good too, the girls loved the ice cream sundaes. We would definitely recommend The Podger for a nice lunch.

Visited this pub with my husband and young daughter. The team at The Podger were nothing but friendly and helpful. They made such an effort with our little daughter. The food was yummy, such great value for money!

Came to the pub with family and enjoyed a fantastic meal with fabulous service. Ordered buttermilk chicken stack and was cooked to perfection and made to my specific requirements! Bar staff were attentive and friendly and all meals were hot and served promptly. A couple on the table next to us were chatting us about how they always go and order the mixed grill as it is the best they have ever had!

Decided to try their take-away delivery service, i ordered the Hunters chicken with seasoned chips, peas & barbecue gravy and my daughter ordered Grilled chicken burger. The delivery time was quick presumably because of the cooking method -MICROWAVED! The hunters chicken was like rubber along...

They've outsourced all responsibility to the glass onion app but the info on the app disagrees with what they have written down at the pub. No understanding of the detail. Eg. Sirloin steak contains gluten. Presumably, the meat itself doesn't so is this just gluten...

We were a group of 17 with a multitude of menu selections from the Festive Three Course Menu. Despite a very busy Friday night venue all of us were served quickly and courteously by two ‘dedicated’ young ladies, Katie and Lindsay. Never having eaten here...

A nice visit for a cheap and cheerful meal accompanied with a very nice pint of Tetleys and a glass of wine for my other half. Both our meals were good value and quality for money. The staff were also very polite and friendly.

Drinks are cheap-ish, but food can be rather expensive for what it is. Mostly seems to be reheated, rather than freshly cooked to order.

Really good food and reasonable value. Great local pub for those midweek meals when you want a break from home cooking. We often eat at the Podger and have always had good experience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Six decent plates of food for not a lot of money. Haddock and chips was excellent. Great service from all the staff, especially Sam. Only a young lad but a master at customer service, fantastic with the kids. Would definitely call again if passing.

Le pregunté si podía agregar cebollas. He sido mi local desde hace bastante tiempo, pero me he ido de mala calidad recientemente. Las sillas están gastadas y están muy manchadas, al igual que la alfombra, las áreas de descanso son igual de malas, las mesas parecen haber tenido un invierno afuera. Es una pena.

Gran valor para la comida de dinero. La cerveza está bien de precio para algunos pubs. The pizzas are prepared with fresh ingredients and fresh dough made daily on the premises. I like that you can be flexible with your toppings and practically build your own pizza. They were Delicious.......will be back especially as the offer of 241 Monday to Friday is too good to miss out on! The atmosphere was casual and friendly and plenty of tvs to watch your favorite sport. The staff were friendly and efficient and I can't wait to return..... Thank you

We head over to Garforth from York each week to visit a friend and often call in the Podger for food and drink. We’ve tried a number of pizzas and they are all good, freshly made and baked in a pizza oven. They have deals all week with buying one pizza and getting one free. They have other food options too but pizzas are definitely a winner. The staff are all excellent and very attentive to customers needs. I’ll be back again next week.

Todos llegamos recién hecho y bien caliente y muy sabroso. Después devorando a nuestros platos principales decidimos coger un pud. 3 cucharas y, optamos por la manzana y crema pastelera calzone. ¡Dios mío! Fue massisve! Un montón de manzanas y flan casero en un fresco calzone pasty. . No para los pusilánimes y me alegro de haber encontrado a compartir sirve con algunos helados encantador en el lateral. . . Yum Yum! Toda la factura con una bebida cada vino a poco más de £38 una muy buena relación calidad-precio. El personal era muy agradable y amable. . . Sin duda volveremos. . ¡Bien hecho!

We've been many times on an evening. Lots of good seating if you want a quiet drink in a corner or a more lively area with sport on TV. The pizza is great and we definitely will be back

Great Local Pub run by a great team, plenty of events on and great pizza. Mark and Jackie also are involved with many community works including the local Amateur Rugby League team.

The fresh dough pizzas are amazing, so tasty. Great friendly and efficient staff and good selection of wines and beers. Can't wait to go back.

Pizzas are just like traditional Italian pizzas. Waiters are lovely great atmosphere reasonably priced as well.

My friends and I met at the Podger for a pre Christmas catch up. The Pizzas were amazing and the Slice Card discount made it even more appealing. The staff were friendly and happy to help and advice us on our menu choice. As it was our Christmas get together, it would have been rude not to sample one of their cocktails and I have to say it was every bit as good and as any I have had in a posh pub in Leeds at a fraction of the price. Well done Guys we will be back

This was my first visit. First impressions not great as seems beer garden had been set on fire! Food however was very good and extremely good value, pizza is 2 for 1 on a Tuesday. Toilets not the cleanest though and no baby change facilities!

I used to use this as my local before moving away so it's been a couple of years since I was last in. Needed a pizza in a less formal environment to the other place in Garforth. Great to see the place still works well, quick service, clean, although the toilets could do with a refurb. Mark and Jacqui run a great place here and have for many years, many congratulations to them for a pretty good team.Food is good, wines are fine, it is wall to wall sport on the TV but that is what the vast majority of customers in there want so it's well supplied and music takes over from commentary unless there is a big match on, I get that.All in all, really pleased to see it is a pretty clean and safe place to go with friends, family or just a solo visit

Great place where the pizzas are to die for! There's always plenty of sports and on a weekend there's live entertainment! This used to be my local but now I've moved I miss the place! Well worth a visit.

Very clean and pleasant establishment serving great beer and brilliant pizzas. All staff are very efficient and pleasant making it a superb environment.

Always going in for a drink. Not the best selection of beers but it's reasonably priced and is well stocked with other drinks. Interior is good with a mix of modern and original. Great for watching any sports and the food is great. Again the food is well priced and if you have a slice card it keep your returning custom for sure.

The Podger is a fantastic, family run pub, with a great atmosphere. The pizza is delicious, really fresh and made right in front of you. The pub is perfect for watching sport with numerous screens!

Great atmosphere, food freshly prepared and very nice. Pizzas are so fresh and tasty, great place for a good night out if you just want a drink but good for families early doors for food. Big screen TVs for your sport so can be really busy when big sports events are on and a long wait for food on these days/nights.

Great local pub with a warm friendly atmosphere. Decent drink offers and the pizzas are amazing! I signed up for a 'slice card' (loyalty card) and got 20% off my food bill. So definitely worth a return visit.

The pizza's a home made & you can see the chef making them in the bar area.As a family we like pizza, but on a Tuesday it's 2 for 1, so we can often dine for under £30 which includes drinks.Been a couple of times & had different pizza's each time & all have been fresh & tasty.

Extremely efficient and friendly service. Great atmosphere and good for all age groups. The pizzas are to die for probably the best I've ever had. They have quiz nights, discos (including 70's/80's alternate fridays) 2 for 1 pizzas on Tuesdays, 2 for 1 cocktails on Thursdays. There is something for everyone. Including a "Wall of Sport".

The Podger is a great pub for watching sport, it has a whole wall dedicated to it, with large tv screen and comfy chairs as well as offering 100% fresh dough pizzas. A great choice that goes hand in hand with watching sport with your family or friends - plenty of parking with a great outdoor space

Must rank among one of the worst pizza ever - the topping from one slice was spread over the whole pizza - unbelievable - no taste - if blindfolded you would not know what flavor had been put in front of you - this is what happens when eating places are controlled by accountants

I visited the Podger with my family for a special occasion. The Podger did not disspoint with the staff members being pleasent and happy to help and advise on pizzas.The food arrived promptly after order and was of a good quality with a nice thin and crisp base (If not slightly overly crisp) and with flavoursome toppings. Although a member of our party did not recieve his chosen dish as we were told it would not be prepared in time for the other dishes so they decided to change their order. I appreciated being told in advance about possible delays as we all wanted our dishes to arrive at the same time so we could eat as a group.Overall for the price (On Tuesdays pizzas are two for one) you can't argue with the Podger. I have been before and on both occasions the staff and food quality have been more than acceptable.

So the podger is good for a quick bite, but if you are looking for a proper sit-down meal then this isn't for you. It's good for pizza etc.I'd recommend La Bella Vita if you want that in Garforth or jump on the train to Leeds City Centre

hand made pizza, sport on the TV and good selection of beer. What is there not to like. Cheap and cheerful and not pretending to be anything else!

Me and my partner visited here for a drink whilst watching the football and contemplated getting something to eat. Whilst it was really busy and not many places to sit we sat down at a table which had a poker mat on it, then instead of getting asked to move we were arrogantly TOLD to move by a guy who was the waiter/bar staff/whoever he was and asked him where we could sit and just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. We left and I couldn't believe the awful stinking attitude of somebody who works in customer service to what we experienced today, downright rude and wouldn't recommend it to anybody which is a shame really as its a really nice pub, never again!

Myself and family have been coming to this pub for a few years now and have never been disappointed, the food and drinks have always been great and the customer service excellent. On my days off work ill usually come here just to get away and have some peace and quiet through the day, (although it is usually very busy after people have finished work for the day).

The service in here is always impeccable and stone baked oven pizza's are so moreish, we cant help going again and again.We often go from work at lunch time and have also brought takeaway pizza back to the office.
