Excellent gluten free options. The batter on the fish for the fish and chips was so good we had to check it was definitely gluten free! The gluten free crab risotto was delicious

Had a beautiful meal at this very nice pub restaurant. The hake and accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked. The rest of our table of 4 had lovely meals too and the service was smooth, friendly and efficient. Sorry there are no photos, we'd eaten everything before I thought of taking photos!

We had an amazing evening. We took our dog with us and it was so calm and civilised in the pub, despite being quite busy, we almost forgot he was under the table. He had a lovely relaxed evening, as did we. The menu had some lovely choices on it, and we really enjoyed the food and drinks. Delicious! We will be back! Thanks also, to all the staff, who were lovely and made us feel very welcome.

Lovely meal, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Have visited numerous times and am never disappointed. Menu updates regularly, good choice of non alcoholic drinks if you are driving and daily specials. Well worth a visit

More of a restaurant than a bar, quite expensive in my opinion.

Really great. Restaurant split for dogs one side of bar without dogs the other. Great food, friendly service. Alot of choice from steaks to caesar salad, gluten free meals etc. 😋

Literally faultless and the best fish and chips I've ever eaten! Loved the Swindon beer too and delightful service.

Staff were so friendly and accommodating, food was great, will definitely go back again. Large enough car park but no disabled parking as there is no easy way in, either a steep slopes or steps.

My first visit here and definitely not the last. Great food and service, everything was spot on.

My first visit, I had a ribeye steak meat was very good quality tender and tasty, very good quality coffee, very important to me that is. I indulged myself with a black cherry dessert, it was wonderful, tasty smooth and well presented, very busy place with professional staff, reasonable prices too. I wish I had taken a photo of my dessert but It looked so inviting that I ate it , but I'm not too into taking photos of my meals, but this one I should have.

Good location to meet with customers. Centrally located between Reading/london gloucester/cheltenham and bristol/cardiff just off the M4 Swindon Jct. Nice staff too.

We had the Fish & Chips which was amazing, and the ham and mature cheddar sandwich - also delicious. Our daughter tried the macaroni and cheese and while the flavour was good, it looked like soup there was so much cheese sauce.

Came to celebrate my parents 61st wedding anniversary, found the staff extremely pleasant, and service was excellent! As for the food all we can say is absolutely superb! Big compliments to the chef….we will definately be back!!! 😃

Great place to stop off - just off the M4 at junction 15. We had breakfast, which was yummy and lovely staff.

Dropped in for a bite to eat on way to Southampton!! They managed to squeeze us in as was very busy fantastic food and good service!! Highly recommended

Lovely little pub off the motorway - we made the effort to come here for the gluten free menu. My partner is gf and had the fish and chips and I had a falafel burger, both were lovely and well cooked. The Sunday roasts looked great too. We didn't have enough time for desserts, but they also looked great. Very well priced and great service.

Have been here many times but today was not good. Drinks order taken immediately but no one came to take a food order after that so I had to go to the front desk after 45 minutes to request someone take our food order. I ordered the fish special which was £24 and was definitely not worth the price as portion was very small and more like a starter!! Fish and chips not as good as Ive had previously and this time was over cooked. No one came to our table after mains and I had to go to the counter again to request coffees and I didn't order desert as I had an appointment and was concerned how long it might take to arrive at my table. We arrived in plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely lunch but because of the waiting we ended up being rushed for time. Disappointing food and service non existent !!!

Very busy when we arrived for lunch on a Thursday. However, it did not impact the quality of service, and the staff were helpful and friendly. They also serve Gluten Free Food. The food was excellent. It is fully recommended. We will be back.😋

Wow, what a Sunday Roast! I knew it was going to be good as the place was full at 12.30pm & that’s always a good sign. The food was fantastic & the service was amazing. We will definitely be back & I can’t wait to sample more food, thank you :-)

We stopped here for some food after a day trip. Had the fish and chips and my husband had a burger. The food was really tasty, great portion sizes and the service was great. Seems like a lovely and cosy pub!

Would like to say how the food was, as it looked and smelled great... But was told the kitchen is backed up and asked to wait 10-15 minutes before ordering... We would have been absolutely fine to do this if it wasn't for the fact the couple behind us in the queue immediately had their food order taken...

The best fish and chips I have got and very cozy atmosphere

We stopped by last minute while on the road and were blown away. The food was delicious, very cozy atmosphere and the staff went out of their way to get us a table even without a reservation. Highly recommend!

Really lovely food and great friendly staff. Due to an accident on M4 we were late and did call the pub who were very accommodating. We were able to bring the dogs and the pub let us. bring birthday cakes . There were 6 Adults, 2 children and 3 dogs and all the food was very tasty and well presented Thank you plough on the Hill for really good lunch we appreciated your kindness and understanding and really good food

Loved the gnocchi with mushrooms. It was pretty and had excellent flavors and textures. Service was friendly and warm. Loved the touch of the chocolate as you pay your bill 😊 will be back again!

We met with friends at The Plough for Sunday lunch. The roast beef meal was excellent, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful, and the ambience lovely. Highly recommended.

We come here quite alot, the food was excellent as always unfortunately the service was very disappointing i would of understood if they was busy but they were not, there was no on one at the bar to ask for drinks they were all out the back chatting also we wasn't even asked if we wanted desserts after our main before the kitchen closed which left us disapppinted.

We had the roasts.can highly recommend. Chicken and beef were cooked to perfection. And a huge Yorkshire pudding with plenty of veg. Staff were very friendly and obviously loved there jobs.

We’ve only been in this pub/restaurant twice in the last 6 weeks. Both times have been really good. I don’t really enjoy Sunday roasts, but the Plough has converted me to enjoying their roast lamb, roasties and all the trimmings. The staff are friendly and efficient. The roast beef was enjoyed my husband and our friend. Both saying it was terrific! All of the party had pudding and I had a cheese platter. The portion and variety of cheeses was delicious, and what I was unable to finish a staff member packed it for me to take home.

Warm welcome. HOWEVER. Limited menu, under staffed, understocked, undercooked, underwhelming. Slow service due to a " a large party in the other end". REALLY!!!

Food was alright…I think we had super high expectations because we heard so much about their roast. The Yorkshire puddings were a bit burnt if I have to be 100% honest and the food wasn’t too hot. However, staff were amazing and the atmosphere was great too. Parking was a bit scary (for me personally) so I was glad we booked a taxi. Definitely will revisit during summer and give it another try!

Found this lovely pub by accident, great food and service from all members of staff, even though they were extremely busy nothing was too much trouble and made us feel like locals. A nice touch was the bag of goodies for our daughter as well, will definitely be going back there when we are in that neck of the woods

Really enjoyed our visit for Sunday dinner. The staff were really friendly and we felt well looked after. With a recently diagnosed coeliac in the family the fact that they were able to provide gluten free options was reassuring. The food was excellent, service was great and overall was reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Came across this little gem by chance.. We were looking for somewhere to stop for your lunch whilst on holiday with our dogs and went to the Sun Inn in a small village it didn't acc we ot did so we searched in Google for the next nearest pub. This came up on the search engine We were very happy as did were welcomed as we're we. The man who was behind the bar was friendly, we ordered a drinks and a vegetarian meal from the bar and took our seats in the window. The pub was beautifully decorated and seating was superb. Toilets outstanding and it was a pleasure to be there. Food was on time and superb, this is exactly what you want after a couple of very wet days in the Lake District . Fabulous service and had a great chat with the gentleman. I didn't tell him at the time that he really did remind me of Andy from Erasure but he is probably too young to know who I mean .. We will definitely be back when we come up to Hymerchill at Park Foot Farm Campsite at Pooley Bridge next year..

Me and my wife spend a wonderful evening having amazing quality food and with service to match I would highly recommend. The menu is limited but this just mean what they do they do well.

We stopped off here half way through our journey. What a fantastic place, the welcome was lovely, the service was great and the food was delicious. We had the ham, egg and chips and the 6oz steak with peppercorn sauce. Would highly recommend!🙂

Food & service were excellent. It was a cold day & wasn't very warm in the restaurant. My elderly mother had to put her coat round her legs to keep warm.

Portion size is fine. But the food is just normal pub type food and it is "definitely" over priced and I would not go here again. Just go to a cheaper pub.

Four of us met here as it was a midpoinr for Sunday lunch. It was our first time and we were not disappointed. Food and service was great and yes the price was a little higher than you might pay elsewhere but we had 3 courses and the portions were plentiful. Easy to see why the Plough was busy. Location is close to the motorway which to us was an added bonus. Will definitely go back again!

Three of us enjoyed a meal on Friday, everyone commented on how great the food was. I had the pan roasted Barberry duck breast, and it was glorious. Service was spot on, efficient, polite, and helpful but not overbearing. They welcome dogs in the bar area too, which is very useful.

They generously allowed us to eat, even though it was fully booked.

Cosy pub/restaurant. It was very busy when I went but thankfully the waitress managed to find a table for my partner and myself for food. I had cod and chips. Great chips and exceptional fish. Especially the batter. Crispy and tasty. My partner had duck which I tried a little. Again very good. Overcooked for me, but my partner likes it like that and she specifically asked for it cooked well done. Sticky toffee pudding for sweet. Again very good. Price wise, I would say it was good value for what we had. Fish and chips from a chippy is now over £10. It wasn't that much more here and waited on plus the quality of the chips, fish, peas and tartar sauce, it's a thumbs up.

We were here for Boxing Day and had the classic food (fish&chips and ham&eggs). Great selection on non alcoholic drinks- which is rare. We were also impressed the colouring set they gave our toddler. Very good overall experience. Keep up the great work.
