The Plough and Harrow in Elmbridge

A third visit for us and this time for "Steak night" - two steaks with a complimentary bottle of wine/ upgrade for a minimal price to a better bottle. Steak was cooked as per order and was very tasty. Service is superb and staff are very friendly. The Plough is a great addition to the neighbourhood.

The new Plough and Harrow is a very welcome addition to eating and drinking out in Long Ditton. The food was excellent with several interesting dishes on the menu. The restaurant is well appointed and affords a good view over the garden. I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Food is very disappointing. This is meant to be higher end dining. Our second visit. Chips seemed reheated or oven cooked. Pie was not enjoyed, vegetables basic & boiled. For the price point, and the image they are trying to create the food is lacking, not special and definitely not worth the money. Pistachio soufflé looks impressive but tasteless.I don't understand the positive reviews. Seriously overpriced.

The service was excellent. The waiting staff are young so (unfairly) I tend to adjust my expectations. Here there was no need. Our waiting staff member was amazing. Just great and I had to mention it to the manager whilst I was there. Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day was fantastic. HUGE portions. Great mix of veg and the beef very tender. I would have preferred it to be warmer. Extensive wine list and nice ambience. Already booked for my Dad’s birthday.

Really rate the newly refurbished Plough and Harrow. Food is really good, a step above what is normally expected from a gastro pub. Staff really care about providing great service. Decor and atmosphere also very good.

Friendly atmospheric pub just for a drink and comfortable and stylish restaurant with good food and excellent service. Saturday night was busy and we dined early so expected to vacate the table by 8.15. Not a problem in our case but may be for a larger group.

Sumptuous revamp of a much-loved local that residents feared may have closed forever. It’s back, and how! Now with a refreshed bar, cute two-person private snug and huge dining area at the back, it looks as if no expense has been spared into restoring what had become a tired, dog-eared establishment before it shut altogether. The food quslity is excellent, service is friendly and welcoming and it’s once again a great asset to the area.

Overall lovely food and good service. The pub has been thoroughly overhauled and looks great . Disappointing for us is that they have got the childrens menu wrong. They advise their children’s menu is up to age 6. I have an 8 year old which would force any child over 6 to eat from the adult menu. There’s no way the average 8 yr old would manage an adult plate, my 12yr old couldn’t finish hers. We ordered a child’s dinner for my 8 yr old and it was tiny. I think this needs a re-think !

Newly refurbed the decor was great, and the atmosphere buzzy for a Saturday night. Great service, good menu and dog friendly. The mussels were delicious, and nothing was too much trouble. As driving I wish I could have savoured the lovely red my husband was drinking! Will try the desserts next time!

Great newly refurbished pub under new management. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with great bar food and a la carte menu in the main restaurant. Will definitely be revisiting again soon.

Newly re-furbished pub now with an excellent restaurant and great real ales. The pub is part of the Heartwood Inns group and tastefully decorated with a great ambience. The service also was of a high standard as was the food.

What a fantastic transformation they have done to the pub in Long Ditton now renamed the Plough and Harrow. Felt warm and cosy. The staff and service was exceptional and the food was incredible. We will definitely be coming back soon.
