Under new management but same friendly staff

I haven't been here in years, decades even! Good to see it's still running, post Youngs. Recently bought by a pubco, I forget the name, that also runs the Long Room at Tooting (formerly the Mitre). Doom Bar was in very good condition! If getting there by public transport, a tram to Beddington Lane makes sense, as the 463 bus will get you to the pub. But it could be a bit of a wait. A better option is to get off at Therapia Lane and there are 2 bus routes to choose from: the S4 and the 463. They're not from the same bus stop, so check your live bus arrivals app while on the tram to decide which one to go for.

Turned up without a booking, we were welcomed and accommodated. Service was good and staff helpful and friendly. Food was generous and delicious.

A wonderful place, a very nice barman which seems to be the boss, and who was very careful with the frenchies we are, thank you so much !

Service with a smile couldn't do enough for you. We had a burger and pint each for over forty pounds all in. The chips were decent and the burger was very nice with cheese and pickle.

Visited with a group of 12 today for a meal after a funeral. Unfortunately feel they weren't prepared for us with only having toasties, burger or fish dinner on their menu available. It was also not great, my toastie didn't taste nice but others said the burger was good. There was a strong smell of urine that kept whofting in the dining area that just wasn't pleasant. It's a shame as we visited after hearing such lovely things via others. The staff were lovely and welcoming.

We come here after always driving past the place, thought let's have a roast dinner the beef was lovely it had such a good taste and was thick cut. The wine was reasonable and tasted great, the show stopper was the Roast Spuds! Amazing! Ordered more and took some home in a takeaway box. Not much choices for the desert but the sticky toffee was good. Big old place staff amazing especially the old dear and Robyn. We got talking about Christmas times at the plough and the monthly quiz nights! I'd definitely come back, I wana try the fish and chips. Come down and give it a go. Rhino x

I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited an unusually long time for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was cold. Although our waiter was kind and offered to replace the meals, the replacement dishes came out in just a few minutes, suggesting they were microwaved rather than freshly prepared. Worse, one of the plates had a strand of hair in it. When we pointed this out, the staff didn’t seem to care and made no effort to address the issue. To make matters worse, my son’s burger was inedible. The patty was hard and burnt, and the bun was stale and wrinkled. He was so upset because he loves burgers, but this one was so bad he couldn’t even have a second bite. He ended up having a meltdown because he was hungry, but there was nothing he could eat. We ended up leaving most of the food on the table and couldn’t wait to leave the restaurant. They didn’t offer any form of compensation for the poor food or service. I would never return to this restaurant, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Save your time and money—there are plenty of better places to eat.

Came for lunch and a couple drinks. First, when ordering drinks we were told there was only one member of staff working and from the other reviews, this isn't the first time! Ordered food which took ages to arrive and when it did, the burger bun was rock hard and the fish batter was severely undercooked! Absolutely rank!

A great pub and has been so for years. Incredibly friendly staff naturally creating a very welcoming atmosphere. Roast dinners or sausage and chips have long been a favourite of mine here. Cannot recommend enough!

Great experience at The Plough with Don and the team. Visiting as I have a three hour wait for my car service and have been looked after very well. Helped Don out with his crossword while I waited and enjoyed a hearty toastie lunch. Will be back next time I have the car serviced!

Another great Saturday Afternoon watching the Six nations, with friends (shame about the result!). Always a great day, the bar team are always friendly and welcoming and a good selection of beers. Would not go anywhere else! Would highly recommend!

Lovely food on a Sunday evening!

Really friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Plays music you can pick yourself on secret DJ and shows big sports games and events, as well as hosting band nights and quiz nights. Welcomes dogs and they sometimes get leftovers, if they ask Ruth nicely.

Haven't tried the food yet but the staff are incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable... Nice garden and a decent selection of beers. The place has a nice local feel to it.

Typical Young’s Pub - good beer, OK food but little wine choices. Nice atmosphere and great space.

We came here for a Sunday roast with family and friends for a pre Christmas get together. There was a poor choice for vegetarians as the roast potatoes are covered in beef fat. We asked for a plant burger to go with our roast and never got it! Instead we received a pile of vegetables with no roast potatoes!! Some people ordered a beef roast dinner and only got one slice of beef. We were very disappointed as we are regulars at this pub. Next year we will be going somewhere different for our Xmas get together.

Three lovely rum and cokes consumed in there tonight, one with a nice chunky slice of lime. My fellow drinkers enjoyed themselves. I didn't go to the bar myself as we had a whip but service was quick. Cosy atmosphere and they've made a good effort with the Xmas decorations. Well done.

I jumped on the bus going the wrong way to get home from ASDA . When I and the wife jumped off to head the right direction we decided to grab a bite when we saw the Plough. They were only serving Sunday Roast and I am extremely glad . I would have hated to have ordered something else and missed this great dish! Being from Texas there is a certain expectation when it come to cooked beef and this roast didn’t disappoint but you will pay for it. It’s a bit pricey for only 1 piece of beef but the quality was outstanding. I will return for more!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Decided to go after our Sunday league game. First time I’ve visited the pub and I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice atmosphere and the staff and service was 100%. Id defo be looking to take the team there after Sunday games in the future.

A large pub with outdoor seating. This pub has a lot to offer and is ok for a few pints. Not had a hot meal but the locals I spoke to do rate the food. I had a sausage roll from the bar that was very nice. Other bar snacks available. The problem for me is the clientele. When busy on a Friday, Saturday night or Sunday afternoon I find the place very intimidating. I only ever feel relaxed here on a mid week evening when there is no football being shown. Staff are friendly and toilets were clean. Atmosphere varies on what day and time you come.

The friendliest local in Wallington and Beddington. Great staff who care about the customers. Great customers, excellent conversations, fun banter, forging strong friendships. Strongly recommend

I loved eating here. I had the bangers and mash. It was a FULL PLATE!! It tasted homemade. My standout moment was the Guinness gravy. My partner had the burger and he said it was gooooood. Great chips, too! The music was a little loud where we were sitting, but nothing unbearable. The venue is really nice and the staff are kind. I like the different seating options!!

The staff are always friendly. Me and my other half had the plough burger. It was excellent I'd recommend it to anyone coming in.

Came in with 7 friends yesterday (Friday night) for a late drink after bowling. We received a warm welcome and the barman was friendly. The atmosphere was good and we were able to find a table. The TV was a bit loud for my liking (as we had come to chat, not watch TV) but another customer was watching it, so we didn't worry about it. I was served tea in a pot - so I was happy!

We supplied a USB with a montage of photos which was played on a screen throughout. Guests were swiftly served drinks on arrival, with tea and coffee available if preferred. Staff discretely checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Our very big thanks to The Plough team....you were great! Very much appreciated! The Woods..

Popped in for a bit of lunch. Don could not have been more attentive and helpful. Food not bad for the price and the sauvignon was lovely. Do not live in the area but would return to The Plough if I visited again.

I came in today for a roast chicken dinner and it was delicious. I would have to say it was the best roast I’ve had in a long time. Also the staff are fantastic they are really friendly and welcoming. Thank you Robyn Troy and don for having me. I will definitely be back very soon

I can't seem to reply to the response i got so i'm going to write it here. The food was good- no issues there-, but it was the service that held it back. We went midweek, so there weren't many people there ordering food, but the server was so slow getting our orders and bringing out the food. I had to go up to the bar after our mains to try and order dessert, just to be told that the kitchen was now closed. I wish the server had told us when we sat down what time the kitchen was closing so i wouldn't be dissappointed...

We regularly come to the Plough to watch the rugby, Ruth , Don and Troy and the rest of the team are always very welcoming, we enjoy the game the selection of beers on offer and the great surroundings.

Such a lovely bar! Great landlord, staff and customers! Probably the most welcoming bar I have ever been in! Who would have thought you can go for a quick pint in a bar in Croydon! Get a pint bought for you and chat for hours with multiple staff members and customers all whilst they look after your stuff! To top it off the crispy chicken burger is incredible!! Went to the Plough recently for the 80th Birthday of a lady who fostered me when I was a little boy. I have enjoyed a beer and some crisps at the Plough before but never eaten there. The service was the normal high quality but the food blew me away. Huge portions! The Ploughman’s was epic, the burgers 🍔 looked amazing and my gammon ham sandwich was very filling. Highly recommend! I would like to compliment Don and his staff for the excellent service that we received yesterday. I booked a table for my wife's 80th birthday; we were meeting up with some of our foster children that we looked after in the 1970s. It was nice to see them again, after a break of a couple of years. There were 8 of us sitting down for a meal. The food we had was good and wholesome and the beer wasn't too bad either!

Haven't ever visited The Plough in all the time I've lived in Wallington, but went there today and enjoyed the food and service. Sausage and mash got my vote and I simply enjoyed every mouthful. Others liked their meals too. Keep up the good work, Don!

The steak and ale pie was excellent. It was complemented by a first class Youngs pint along with friendly and efficient service.

Went early evening for a quick dinner I had the burger has been a long time since I've had a burger in a pub that isn't dripping in fat. The food price is no different from any other pub but the quality definitely outshines alot of them and the staff where very friendly, well worth a vist

Finally a pub that sells proper pub food lovely ham, egg and chips. Service was amazing and extremely clean didn't stink like a usual boozer which was nice. Definitely returning Lewis @bears_tasty_treats

Decent pub in Beddington. Really friendly staff, very pleasant and courteous. Good selection drinks, as you'd expect, not the cheapest though. Only ordered a bowl of chips with the drinks but they were nice enough, a good portion and served with condiments of your choice. Nice large outdoors space/seating, with an outside covered seating area, and piped music, which was nice. Uploaded the app to test the drinks service and that worked well. Will definitely try to 'frequent', although the men's toilets needed a bit of work...but then don't all men's pub toilets?!

Booked a table for 3 but we had the pub to ourselves? Saying that we were made to feel welcome and must say that the food was lovely especially the steak and ale pie,(one of the best I've ever had) shame it was not busy but not many parking spaces about?

The manager is very good and friendly. I had the jacket potato with beans and Macroni cheese, both were tasty. My friend enjoyed the Strak pie, the garlic bread was cold. The Guinness was decent.
