What a lovely lil spot. Staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. Room had been recently renovated and was perfect for our stay. Pool was great other reviewers seem very critical over small details. Would absolutely come back incredibile value for the level of service, location and room quality.

Firstly our room certainly didn't look like any that are shown on the website. The room needed a good upgrade. The staff were lovely so no complaints there. Pool facilities were good. Our night there was a present for our golden anniversary and was for dinner, bed and breakfast. We found it strange that the evening dinner menu wasn't even as good as the bar menu and was really quite a poor menu. The breakfast was cold. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Lovely staff, friendly honest and polite, I booked two rooms very nice, I was with my elderly mother and the room downstairs was so nice and warm and easily accessible for her with a walk in shower too! We left items at the hotel when we were coming away and the housekeeping staff were so very kind and they handed them in, today we recieved them through the post!! how wonderful of them to do this, all of the staff were so nice to us, they work so hard and we appreciate all that they do to make our stay just wonderful!! We will be sending something for them as they went above and beyond to post our items that my mom had got in Scotland for her 85th Birthday and one of them was a bottle of Whisky, bless you all and thank you, we will so be coming back and telling friends to come to this beautiful place. THANKYOU. Barbara Mason.

Stayed as a couple with two dogs overnight 28th -29th August 2024. We were in a room on the 2nd Floor, but a Lift was available to make access easy. No air conditioning, but open window provided all the ventilation required. Room fine with built in wardrobe, although my Wife did find the mattress to be uncomfortable Bathroom with shower, no problems with water pressure or temp. Pool and jacuzzi excellent, you have got to use room towels for the pool, so best bringing dedicated swimming towel if possible. Kids swimming lessons wednesday after school so can be busy with Kids 3pm - 6pm. Hotel on top of a hill, so fair climb to walk up to it from town. The Hotels two car parks, can fill up after school / early evening when children & local Leisure Club members using the leisure club / swimming pool. Hotel Guests can still use facilities then, but is busier, good to see facilities been open for the local community, because from my perspective there is a limited amount of resources available locally for the local community. Hotel very dog friendly, £10 extra charge for each dog. Jar with dog biscuits in reception. Dogs allowed in all rooms except restaurant. Extensive grounds around the hotel which the dogs loved. Because we had the dogs with us we ate our evening meal and breakfast in the bar area. Evening bar menu limited choice, but adequate and well cooked, drinks from bar (beer & wine), fine as well & Staff and service excellent. Breakfast £12.50 extra, buffet style breakfast Continental / Cereals / Cooked. Checkout quite early, 10.am, and breakfast finishes at 10am. so we decided to check out first then had breakfast. Staff very helpful & friendly, we met up with Family members who regularly stay at a local Caravan site & have a 1 year old and very active 3 year old who joined us for the evening meal. Highchair available for the 1 year old and understanding Staff regarding us trying (unsuccessfully) to keep the 3 year old in check.🫣. Food all delivered quickly and no problems. Pitlochry itself very much catering for tourists / coach trips, with every other shop selling tartan or Harris tweed clothing. Area catering for more mature visitors, as a lack of any kid type attractions local, (No good Playgrounds etc);. and no sign of any “indoor activities local to keep kids amused on wet days. Loved the hotel and friendly and relaxed attitude of the Staff and particularly enjoyed the afternoon sitting outside in the garden by the petanque court after a walk up the very steep hill from Pitlochry town center we needed a drink! Our dogs loved walking in the grounds as pretty extensive and loads of woody glades and bushes for them to get their coats covered in sticks. Looking forward to future visits when meeting up with our Family.

I am giving this hotel a 1* based on cleanliness. I stayed at this hotel along with my grandmother last week and I have never stayed in anything so dirty in my life. On arrival to our room it was obvious it had not been cleaned. Bed linen dirty, curtains dirty carpet dirty and not hoovered, toothpick, cotton buds and dirty cups in room. I spoke with hotel staff mainly the manager Abi who assured me this would be rectified and it wasn’t. The sad excuse for not cleaning our room was there was no answer. Hmm maybe that’s because we were out as did not want to stay in this hotel any longer than necessary. There was no do not disturb on our door and we gave permission for them to enter. Still wasn’t done. I am attaching pictures of this hotel as believe me I wouldn’t even let my dog stay here!!!!

Nice pool/sauna/bar/restaurant the rest of the Property was dated and in disrepair. We stayed in luxury scenic view room front right corner on the first floor for 2 nights. Nice walk to Pitlochry and the dam, etc. Room noise from rooms above need sound proofing, you can literally hear every step on the floor above. Windows need sorting out along with the massive hole in the wall patched up with spray foam and some polystyrene sheet.

A grand old hotel, in a prime location above Pitlochry. Nice rooms, and great staff. The food was great, although it was a bit of a surprise to have a slection of rockmusic played over dinner - and even more so to have Black Sabbath's Iron Man to accompany your breakfast. Suits me, but some of the older guests off the coach parties looked a bit puzzled to say the least. Good to see a proper coffee machine int he rooms, and the large, bright and spotlessly clean bathroom was a bonus. The lightshade could do with a clean, but that's just being picky. Recommended. We're already booked to go back.

Arrived late in the night to find somewhere to stay as was driving back home and feelt it was to long a journey to not rest. Location was OK. Out the way. Service at the desk was good I got the last room. However. I had to be back up early to drive rest way home for a full busy day on Wednesday. One you can tell it's an old building. You can hear everything. Walls paper thin so got no peace to sleep if you get what I mean. I left the hotel at 1.30am and drove to a layby and slept there for over an hour and then got back on the road to finish my journey. As I knew laying for over two and half hours later no sleep. I was exhausted. Which inpacked on my work. Will not be back for the price it cost me.

Came with my wife for our 17th wedding anniversary. Overall, the hotel is excellent. Staff are friendly enough and do help with any problems you have. We booked a room with a scenic view. It had two single beds but I have to say although comfortable, they were very narrow. You get the usual in the room but you also get your own personal coffee machine. Ours didn't work but they got it working thf next day. The TV was also jumping but that got fixed the following afternoon. We stayed for two nights and had to pay £12.50 each for breakfast the first morning, which was ok as it was an all you can eat service. We also had dinner at the hotel for our anniversary and ordered steak. It was a bit pricey at £24.95 each but nonetheless delicious. We made use of the pool and hot tub but the hot tub only gave you a certain amount of time to use. The room itself was ok but certain bits could do with an update. Same applies to the lounge. Other guests were friendly enough and talked to us. The town itself is very posh and a little expensive. The hotel is on a grand scale and has beautiful grounds where you can sit in a garden with you drinks and admire the grandness of the building. I would recommend the hotel and hopefully maybe back one day. It's good value for money but breakfast should be an option to be included.

It was a unique experience to stay in a traditional British building. What I liked most is that the hotel is located on a small hill in a peaceful village, and all the alleys I come across on the way down to the city are so pretty that I feel healed. The reception room in the lobby was classy, the breakfast room was nicely decorated, and the food was good. The interior of the room was not narrow, so it wasn't uncomfortable, and the view from the window was quite nice. There is also ample parking space in front and next to the building. Although there is an elevator in the hotel, it was a bit disappointing that it was very small and slow and there was no refrigerator. But I understand everything because the price was so cheap. This is great value for money, but I don't know why the rating is in the 3-star range. If I come back to Pitlochry, I will stay there again.

Welcome to the seventies. The hotel could be really nice, but a lot of savings were made in modernizing it. The room, especially the bathroom, was really very old-fashioned. The service is very friendly and good but there doesn't seem to be a proper system for everything. (Starting from the management level) There is no drinks menu. There is a dining room with an extra menu and a bar menu...everything comes from the same kitchen but is only served in the respective area. This can cause confusion and lead to strange moments. Breakfast was also from the seventies, let's say "okay". The citizen dinner was quite good.

The hotel is at the top of the hill in Pitlochry, you need transport to get down and up from the village if you've got mobility problems. The double room we had was clean but decor was tired. The floorboards creaked and squeaked when we moved about the room. The evening meal was ok, the prawn and mango starter was nice, my bolognese was a little greasy and tasteless, my wife's fish was dry. I would say the ice cream was from a tub, the berry crumble was very nice. Breakfast in the morning was better with options of fried or fruit n pastries and cereal options with tea, coffee and fruit juices. The staff were very helpful and polite. Overall the hotel needs a cash injection and renovation.

Disappointing. Although clean, the room decor was very tired, floor uneven and creaky, bed a symphony of creaks and boings from worn springs in mattress, bathroom functional but shower weak and difficult to moderate temperature. Stayed on a half board deal, but dinner from table d'hote menu was sub par. Parfait came on warm, limp bed of salad with no bread/crackers/oatcakes to accompany, chicken wings very small and cooked to the point of desiccation. Mains not better, 'baked white fish' defied identification, but came with under heated frozen veg and ALL the roast potatoes, smothered in a lemony sauce with a flavour akin to a KFC hand wipe. Roast pork option served with similar veg and roast potato accompaniment, but devoid of any flavour, vaguely reminiscent of school dinners. Desserts - strawberry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding - both served, unappetisingly, at around body temperature. Sauv blanc was ok though and service was polite and efficient, if a little impersonal. Terrible night's sleep interrupted multiple times by loud banging and by night porter loudly apologising to another resident for the disturbance at 2 am. Persevered trying to sleep until admitting defeat at 8am, getting washed and departing without indulging in breakfast. Unlikely to return.

When we arrived at the station (2 adults and a teenager 13) we set our sat nav to walk to the hotel it was dark as approx 7pm this proved to be funny in hindsight as it took us on a 20 minute walk up quite a steep bank, we found a much easier walk the next day which is a route through the trees at the back of the hotel (couldn't be used by anyone with a wheelchair) and only takes 10 mins into centre. Our family room was large and bedroom was clean and basic. We had only a view of the swimming pool roof top, but there are some lovely views from elsewhere in hotel. The windows are old, so do get condensation (to be expected) but the bathroom definitely needed a refurbishment- the shower looked like it was borrowed from the 80s and had very little pressure and the shower curtain didnt fit the bath. The bar and restaurant are ok, nice sitting area with choice of bar meals or al la carte in restaurant. The restaurant had set menu which we didn't feel was good value, given other options available at restaurants within a10 minute walk. They describe a cocktail lounge (4 cocktails on tap) but drinks are reasonably prices £21 bottle of wine. Music playing from play list through the week, unsure if thus changes on a Saturday. I did have a bit of an issue with cheese board priced at £4.95 in restaurant when ordered at the bar was charged £7.95 and when queried (showed on menu) was told by bar man it was done as a favour in bar area, as not on his till, so he had to put it through as sandwich (not sure that justified extra charge) all in all a pleasant stay and pool was a real asset with nice jacuzzi and sauna. Changing room adequate with lockers (require £1 coin). Board games and pool table also on offer which help when you have children. Staff polite on desk and there is a lift to 1st and 2nd floor. The breakfast was a buffet style but was replenished regularly. Cereal, fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice also available to help yourself. This is a dog friendly hotel. Would stay again if visiting pitlochry.

Ordered vegan food and found what seemed like animal part in it. They insisted it was part of a mushroom which it clearly wasn’t. This made my wife feel sick and therefore couldn’t accept the offer of another meal. Offers of drinks etc weren’t acceptable as this had ruined our evening. I had to argue for any reduction in the bill and was threatened with the police if I didn’t pay. Appalling customer service.

Went to this place yesterday whilst visiting Enchanted Forest. Apart from one lovely lady with blonde hair who was very sweet, the other two female members of staff were rude and disinterested. Half the tables were empty throughout the whole duration yet they complained we firstly hadn't booked and secondly that only 4 out of 5 of our party were eating. The food was dreadful...9 pounds for a dry jacket potato which was dry and burnt and served with 3 leaves of lettuce. Won't be visiting again, such a shame the staff and food were so bad.

Delivery was on time, chips were amazing and still hot the only downfall was the chicken burger. I think because I was expecting something spectacular as this place is all about chicken. It was a little bit of a disappointment. Next time, I shall order something else. Thanks for the quickness. X big love Megs
