The Pink Turban in North Lanarkshire

DO NOT GO HERE This must be the worst restaurant ever. My partnef and I visited and ended uo seriously ill woth disrrohea and sickness. Honestly this place needs shut down...Chipped plates. Staff not friendly at all.

DO NOT GO THERE I went there with my friend and although it looked good . The staff watch you like a hawk probably counting the plates you eat. Plates were chipped. They do not allow a doggy bag and prefer to throw away the food rather than like other restaurants give you a doggy bag. Next day oh boy my friend and I had serious diarrhea. If it was just me but both of us with diarrhea. We had this for 2 days. Seriously DO NOT GO THERE unless you want 2:days out of your life.

Visited last night with 3 friends. Have been a few times in the past. Read some reviews that weren't very good, but I can't fault it at all. Service was good with very polite staff. Food is now offering some chinese, burgers. Pizzas, mac cheese as well as their usual selection of fabulous Indian food. The sweet arrangement is very extensive and would suit children and adults . We had a gluten free friend with us a d although she couldn't have naan bread she had a good variety and choose the fresh fruit as dessert. So a very good night for us . So come on folks try for yourself and then add your review.

The place needs a good scrub!! The food tasted cheap, no real flavours, cold chips, hard nuggets, soggy pakoras , and the chicken tikka tasted off! Very disappointed!

The Booffi Village Wishaw (formerly The Pink Turban) is the filthiest restaurant it has ever been my misfortune to eat in. I should have realised as soon as I pushed open the filthy white main door which hasn’t seen a cloth in years. After touching it I was wishing I’d brought hand sanitiser with me! We were shown to a table which looked clean enough so we sat down. Now this table was parallel to the toilets, which isn’t normally a problem. After going up and getting a starter from the buffet, it became apparent that this establishment was sadly lacking someone who was capable of basic cleaning and sanitation. The area around the buffet was dirty along the bottom with signs of spilled food that had never been wiped from the sides of the island which housed the buffet food. The skirting boards around the food areas were filthy to the extent they were black. On sitting back down, I started to look around and discovered that EVERY piece of white skirting board throughout the restaurant were filthy and black, the toilet doors were thick with dirt, the brass hand plates to push open the toilet doors had not been wiped down in months, there were traces of spilt foods splattered down the walls and on a radiator, spilt food on the floor that looked like it had been there for ever. The whole place was just filthy and in my opinion, a health hazard. If their front of house is like this, what are their kitchens like? Needless to say, I ate very little and couldn’t wait to leave. The food was cold , hard and tasteless and to be honest, I don’t know why I lasted in the place as long as I did. I was actually gobsmacked that an eating place could be allowed to operate under those conditions. I challenged the so called manager before leaving as to why the place was so dirty and he couldn’t get me out of the door quick enough. I wouldn’t say I made a scene but I did let my feelings be known (in a loud voice) with regards to the state of the place and why was it not being cleaned properly and did they think it was acceptable to charge people to sit in a filthy manky restaurant to eat a meal? It’s a place I certainly will NEVER go back to. And to top it all off, they don’t allow reviews to be left on their Facebook page. I wonder why?

The food was not great, will not be back. I asked if the refillable coke was real coca cola when ordering drinks and was told it was. It was not real coca cola and was not nice! There was a dip that I ate on a pakora that was clearly off and had to spit it out in a napkin. I went to the toilet and it was freezing and no toilet paper. The restaurant had extremely slippy and uneven flooring. Defo will never return. Also now called Boofi

took her indoors for valentines first ive been since it was the pink turban and after reading mixed reviews but was well happy with everything from a warm welcome to being offered a complimentery drink when paying bill woudld highly recommend good variety for a world buffet and good choice for kids also next time im gona try the lunch well done keep it up guys

Decided to try the Booffi All You Can Eat Indian Restaurant (formally the Pink Turban). On arrival, greeted by very friendly staff. We were really looking forward to our meal, how wrong we were. First of all there is not much choice, The chicken tasted so overcooked to the point it was hard. The flavour of the sauces were very bland. They offer a Chinese section. I don't really see the reason for that as the selection is limited and awful, in my opinion. Probably would be better consenting on more selection for the Indian selection. On the plus side, they offer a complementary drink before you leave.

Such a shame that the Pink Turban so no longer there. It was always great. The guy who greeted the customers was fantastic. We got a take away tonight, for the first time, under its new name and it was excellent. Well done and I hope you are there for a long time,

Myself and my family have been coming here for years, when it was the pink turban & Almas, now Boofi Village, We visited last Friday Evening, good to see an extended boofi, good selection of food & sweets, food tasted good, the staff were friendly and courteous, the manager was friendly and welcoming he offered us free shots, and if we required anything that was not in the boofi the chief would cook it for us, which I thought was very kind. I loved the garlic chilli chicken curry and the chicken tika to name a few. Great value for money, we will definitely return, 👍

I visit this restaurant yesterday, thinking it was still the pink turban , on arrival I realised it was boffin village, I thought we will give it a try , wishing I hadn’t, the food was not up to any restaurant standards, i ate nothing it was that bad .my husband ate a few items but they tasted like cheap curries you could buy from a frozen section of a super market ,the pizza was solid , chips were soggy .my 6 year old ate a few nuggets and some ice cream and marshmallows, I had told staff I was not happy with food as soon as I tried it , the gentleman was lovely offered to make me something from the kitchen which I refused as did not think it would be up to standard. I really think you need to have a look at the menu and maybe look into a more experienced chef , the only positive was the pink pakora sauce was nice , I know it’s just a new restaurant and I hope you take on board that things need to change or I can’t see the restaurant being open in a few months time.

Walls were full of mould lots of condensation running down mirrors on wall. Floor also. Skimpy due to this Jacket was wet when we left due to condensation & no heating. Food was awful 4 dishes I tried weren’t of good quality. Restaurant in need of refurbishment. Definitely won’t be back & wouldn’t recommend

We have used the pink for of visits and people have traveled down from Dundee and St Andrews and given the distance they travel they get the choice of restaurants we go to and it’s always 👍 The staff are very friendly people but tend to want you to enjoy your meal and just get on with keeping your table clear 🥘 The food is excellent with a huge choice of dishes you can pick from 🥘 the other thing is if you don’t see something you would like they will try their best to help you 🥘 The cost of the meal was £8:99 which included our Coffee and Tea All you could eat starters and mains followed up with a good selection of sweet choice with your chocolate fountain £8:99 pp is brilliant for fantastic food it’s Highly Recommended to visit and enjoy I may even meet you as I’m going back tomorrow 🥘👍🥘

New Owners, staff all seem very friendly was even offered a complimentary drink upon leaving. Staff very accommodating reminded several times if we need anything to just give staff a shout. Curries are good and desserts are good also, Hope the place does well as you can tell staff appreciate your custom.

This has been our favourite Indian buffet restaurant for quite some time, but today was disappointing. Apathetic staff, tandoori chicken was over marinated therefor salty tough and luke warm, as we're most of the starters. The overcooked chicken in the main meals had no through flavour. The one and only lamb dish was tough, no nan bread, and chewy mushroom pakora. Not one staff member asked if there was a problem with the food left on our plates. Normally when we leave this restaurant there is a conversation when you ask for the bill, including the customary "was everything okay with your meal, and hope to see you again" Today a bill with a 20% increase slapped down on the counter, and similarly with the change without as much as a thank you. Today we were only 3 of a group of 12 regulars, neither of us will not be back.

You really can't beat the pink turban for value for money. And even though it's very cheap, the food Is of above average standard. My only gripe is the attitude of staff needs a bit of polishing up. Not the most courteous and friendly staff here. This really let's the place down a little. I feel reading other reviews this point is completely justified.

Excellent service every time. I became vegan five years ago and have visited the restaurant since on numerous occasions. Have always been assisted by the staff re. The buffet and often offered an alternative dish specifically vegan as a main course. Highly recommended.

I ordered a delivery via Just Eat, stated "free delivery, no min order". Got through to payment page and noticed after I'd paid they charged for delivery. I contacted Just Eat who said I'd need to contact the restaurant for a refund. Phoned them and a very argumentative man argued with me, was talking over me, refused to listen to what I was saying then hung up on me after saying "fine" when I said it would be the last order they get from me. I use this restaurant a lot, both visiting and for deliveries but this guy's attitude has just put me right off them.

We ordered from the pink turban on the 7th October and paid with card £13.75 and they took the money and it didn't deliver. They will now not answer there phone to me to see if I can get my money back. Not happy. I will never be getting anything from hear again. If they do not contact me or get my money back I will phone the Fraud squad.

Had lunch here with my mum the other day. COVID measures mean that they can’t have a buffet on display but by no means affected our visit. You get a large platter of starters, the chicken tikka in particular was amazing! Freshly cooked and super juicy. Then you get to pick from a list of what you want from the kitchen as your main course from the “buffet”. Highly recommend the garlic naan - it was beautiful. The curries we had we’re lovely. If we wanted more then I’m sure we could have asked for it but we were stuffed. I would highly recommend a visit here. Brilliant lunch

We had lunch yesterday and paid full price £22 including 2 juices. I phoned and asked about the eat out deal which the government pay half and I was told it's only night time which I don't think is true as when I check with other reasturants it's all day . Does anyone else know about this ? Thanks

I have eaten at the Pink Turban many times and always had a great experience. However, tonight I decided to order takeaway, big mistake. The delivery arrived early and was presented by a friendly driver. On opening my king prawn biryani I mistakenly thought it was chicken because the prawns were so overcooked, only after calling the restaurant and explaining I was asked to take a picture of the dish, they confirmed they were prawns. The prawns were tough, dry and unpalatable, I would not order this particular dish dish or takeaway again. After paying a £5 supplement I do not believe the dish merited it.

Arrived shortly after opening on Friday for lunch. Meals hot fresh and tasty couldn’t fault food.Drinks a tad on the high side which is a bugbear of mine. Excellent value for money. Parking issues as usual

Always love the Pink Turban for food so for my husband’s birthday bash, I ordered a take out of veg pakora, chicken pakora, and chicken tikka to make up some of the buffet at home. I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised, they surpassed my expectations. They also added extras like spiced onions, chapati and poppadoms. My guests absolutely enjoyed the buffet. Didn't book but was accommodated on arrival. Staff attentive and kept busy. The odd smile would be appreciated from the girls serving. This didn't detract from the speed of service.A good variety of starters including battered mushrooms, tandoori chicken, creamy garlic mushrooms, fresh salad veg. A good variety of condiments, spicy sauce, mild sauce, mango chutney, spiced onions, poppadoms and nann.Our drinks were served quickly and we are at a leisurely pace. The usual mains to choose from. A variety of chicken and lamb dishes in a varied strength sauces. Pashwari, garlic and plain nan, sticky sweet rice, plain boiled rice and rainbow rice.There was something on the sweet trolly for everyone which is always good. We had no room for a sweet but everything in the fridges looked lovely and fresh.So, two three course buffet Indian meals with soft drinks on a Saturday night for under £30. I think this was very good value for money. We will be back.

Another good meal with superb Chicken Chasni, fresh rice and poppadoms. The vegetable pakora was cooked lovely and was delicious.

After hearing good reviews Myself and 14 of my friends booked our table at Pink Turban, firstly we didn’t have to pay a deposit like most places who take big groups on which was fantastic as numbers sometimes change. Our meal was fantastic , the food was amazing and also a great choice of hot dishes and deserts were available. The service was very good and attentive , finished plates were taken away almost immediately and drinks were not left empty. At the end when paying I wanted to leave a tip but the man on the till politely said “ please please don’t worry about that yous all coming here to eat is enough tip in its self” to which I then put money in the charity box instead. Overall the meal and service was fantastic and the last comment at the end made my night at how genuine the workers were which is why I had to come and write a review. Would definitely recommend and we will all be back in the future. Thank you Pink Turban

Went in for for the al la carte menu, guessing most of there business is for the buffet. The place was on the tired side of life and in much need of a deal clean and a refresh. Food was ok but the menu prices are not what was charged on my receipt. Chicken pakora was charged double from menu price. Salad had been prepared a few day earlier we won’t be back. Can get far better else where.

The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Chicken chasni is excellent and vegetable and chicken pakora is lovely bubbly.

hi came here for a meal,staff saw to your every needs without being overbearing,as i say nice surroundings nice artistry statues etc. Food in general was ok, but being a self confessed foodie and having worked as a cook in the catering industry i felt the mutton was "chuck" and not tender the way it should have been,in my opinion this was it was not marinated and prepared the previous day, but in most likliehood prepared on the day,which if that was the cased would have been it tough and not tender, which in my opinion ruined the whole meal. Apart from that it was ok as a standard indian restaurant not professing to be a michelin star.The deserts i think were "bought in from crolla,i dont normally like "bought in" but i actually liked the lemon sorbet one.the pakoras were nice with the sauce,the nan was big and generous in size. The bill was accurate . all in all it was an "ok" night.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The buffet option is the way to go as there are so many options available. Lots of great starters loads of different curries and rice/nan breads. The desert is also really nice lots of different cakes. Great value for money and very friendly staff!

Saturday evening buffet with friends. Great selection of Indian starters, mains and desserts and tea or coffee included in the price. No highly coloured dyed foods, the real deal unlike many other Indian restaurants or takeaways. Able to order from the A la carte menu too. Good service, polite and friendly. Excellent value for money, eat all you want. A firm favourite of locals and people from further afield alike.

We always come to the Pink Turban. Lunchtime buffet is amazing v as lue and evening one has just a bit more variety with the desserts added in. I would recommend the Pink Turban to anyone.

Had ordered food via a 3rd party website that advertised a wait of 55 mins fir home delivery . After an hour phoned to see where my meal was. Put on hold as they tried to discover what happened that took ten minutes ! Then told that it would be a further 30 minute wait for my food to be delivered as the waiting time was 90 minutes not the maximum if 55 mins as on their website. Asked to speak to a manager onky to be told that he was “too busy” to talk to me and I should call back after 10 PM !!when food did arrive it was still warm although one part of the order was definitely wrong as was like a tikka masala instead of a Hyderabadi which should have been rich with ginger and chilli enhanced with mint. What we got was a jar of tikka masala sauce with coriander added !!

Visited with family but it was very busy and service was poor. Firstly got the wrong drinks then despite asking for chips on 3 occasions they never arrived until we had finished our meals any other time we have been it wasn’t busy and service was great. I won’t go back during school holiday periods.

Was a buffet night when we visited. Did ask for menu but waitress wasnt very hospitable. Good range of food though, all very tasty and being a buffet you can have as much or little as you want. Was a very busy place very family friendly. Reasonably priced. Not keen on seeing staff nibbling on buffet either and parking is a bit of a chore but worth a visit for a decent curry. Spicy onions are gorgeous. Staff need to be more welcoming.

Went to the Pink Turban today with my Daughter and her friend for lunch . It's been a few years since I'd been in and was keen to try it again. Firstly the waitress who showed us to our table seemed like she really couldn't be bothered being there. She looked a bit scruffy too with her hair hanging mostly out of her pony tail. She was similar with other customers and in fact none of the staff smiled at all. The food was ok but could have been warmer and as it had just opened I'd expected it to be. There was also bits of food on the floor from the night before that obviously hadn't been cleaned which is fine if it's later in the day and you know it's been from that afternoon. For £5.95 it was ok I suppose however they do make their money on the drinks. 3 diet comes cost £8.40. Safe to say I won't be rushing back

Have reviewed this place before but have been a few times in last few weeks and have been very pleased so thought i would leave another. The food is next to none for the price the owner is a lovey guy very attentive and welcoming to us on every visit. Brilliant selection on foods all fresh and replenish very quickly when it runs out. The idea is to go in get shown a seat then help your self to the buffet which is starters and mains then ask for coffee or an ice cream with sauce to finish off. Staff will normally ask if you would like coffee or ice cream but if they are busy may forget so just remind them nicely and they will get you it. Also children are offered chicken nuggets and chips in place of the buffet and are served a huge plate of it. My 4 year old has this option and leave well over half a plate then has some ice cream. Can i say tho when people get this this is in place of the buffet not as well as i seen a man today order the nuggets and chips and also let his over weight 8 year old go up and help his self to 2 huge servings of the buffet and half the nuggets and chips between them selfs and waste a lot of pakoras etc. I know its a eat all you can kinda place but this is just disgraceful and disgusting wastage of food. For 5.90 i was actually sickened off that people would abuse a place like this in that way. Sheer greed.

The variety is excellent with different variety's of pakora, potato slices, Chicken drumsticks coated with lovely sauce and chicken tikka pieces for starter and over 12 different types of curry's. There is also salad and sauces.

Been to this venue today, buffet plenty choice and the ice cream and sauce was nice at the end. Would return to this place

I have heard of this restaurant for 5/6 years and a number of friends recommended it to me. In the back of my mind I remembered all the untruths about it on social media. I decided to take my family my sister and elderly mother in law for my birthday celebration as being a novice Asian chef looked forward to what was on offer at their buffet. On arrival parking was tight but a Monday night no problem to find a space. I could already smell the inviting wafts of spices coming in through the air vents. I didn't let that sway me though until I decided to sample "the proof of the pudding"

Good to see that the Pink Turban ( Wishaw) hasn't lost its touch and still provides a great selection of a varied menu for a value you for money price.

Good night, rèlaxed and felt welcome. Food was lovely and not expensive. Good variety in what was on offer.

We phoned to see if there was a gluten free menu. Was told "possibly not" With a coeliac child in the family not worth the risk. Sorry

My hubby and I often come and sometimes on a non date night bring our two kids. Excellent value for money and the South Indian to die for. Garlic naan pretty good too.
