My 4th time here and great experience if your flight arrives early and you get here just as they open. If there are long queues it's not worth the wait. The food and tea is consistent, full breakfast is a good way to revive after a long haul flight and is one of the better cooked meals and as expected at an airport, coffee and eggs could be hotter. Service is prompt, friendly with a quick turn around, prices could be better value for money.

Poor service all round and rude waiter. We were not aware that pizzas were not available. There was a measly sign at the entrance (but it was partially blocked by other customers at that time), and FOH did not think to mention even when we were discussing the menu and deciding whether to go in or not. When we decided on alternatives, we were informed that none of the bread-related items were available (no salt beef, no bread items, and the steak sandwich was replaced with ordinary bread that did not justify the price of the item). The waiter who served us was very rude and curt. When paying, he did not even bother to place the bill on the table, and simply announced the amount and expected us to tap our card on the contactless machine immediately. When we requested to look at the bill, he still did not place the receipt wallet on the table as per norm, but simple ‘flicked’ the paper bill at us whilst still holding on to the receipt wallet and hovering around. It was just so rude. Most restaurants place the bill on the table and then leave to give customer time to look at the receipt and pay. But he was so rude, his entire mannerism was just curt it’s not suitable for service and hospitality.

Not great. £19 for a full English breakfast and no hash browns and only a single sausage. Didn’t help that the toast was almost burnt and freezing cold. Coffee also tasted like school cafeteria coffee. At least service was fast. Save your money and go to one of the other places in Terminal 2.

Worst steak I’ve ever had, which was also overpriced. It was far too well-cooked (I ordered medium rare) which I told the waiter when he asked me how my food was. He suggested that I ordered the wrong sauce, which has nothing to do with how the steak is cooked.

I found the staff to be moderately friendly (not overly so, but rather comfortable). Simple but satisfying food. (Actually, I didn't expect much from the steak, but it tasted a bit like the one I had at Bath Restaurant) I was satisfied. If you go into the city, it's about 3.5. I visited this airport restaurant called the The Perfectionists' Cafe. The name did speak to me. I found the space charming, especially appreciating how open it is. I particularly enjoyed my meal, especially the unique, thinner waffle. However, I did experience a disappearance of our waiter, though another staff member stepped in to assist. What’s happening here, Heston? I’m a huge fan of your tv shows and books, sadly, The Perfectionist Cafe was desperately imperfect.:-( The Eggs Florentine was served with chilled spinach and the spinach ends were untrimmed..I.e. dry, discoloured and ‘ugly.’ So, I thought I’d try the Eggs Benedict as a replacement. Bad to worse….cold doughy English muffin that was barely, if at all, toasted, off-cold hollandaise sauce and my medium poached eggs were still largely raw. Given the owner, name, price point and not too busy restaurant it’s fair to expect better, but it was time to give up and go to a business lounge…. The manager was barely polite and they did make a point of charging for the coffee - fair enough, I did drink it. But, wouldn’t that normally be offered gratis under the circumstances?

The Perfectionists’ Café at Heathrow Terminal 2 was created by chef Heston Blumenthal, inspired by his TV series and books “In Search of Perfection.” The café embodies his pursuit of reinventing British classics by focusing on improving the dishes continually. The name “Perfectionists’” reflects the belief that while perfection itself is subjective and unachievable, the quest for improvement is endless. Airport food is certainly in need of reinvention and improvement. Most of the time you are overpaying for something you could get at your local cafe for half the price and twice the quality. Same goes here. While it was enjoyable to go to, especially if like me you are a massive fan of Heston, and it is a story: something to say you did while at the airport. Most breakfast baps or rolls at a local UK cafe are better. Hopefully Heston would be proud of that: “Go UK food industry!” I went for the breakfast bun, as I usually do. It came with two sausages, bacon, and a piece of tomato - but on the whole it was dry, and the sausage skin was chewy, so I deconstructed the bun and took the skin off. But this is classic brand Heston, as he is all about surprises, and I was definitely surprised. The French 77 cocktail was part of the Breakfast special. It was nice – the floating cucumber a quirky reminder that I am fancy. I did also really enjoymy post breakfast coffee, so they do that well. There are flashier items on the breakfast menu featuring the usual suspects: avocado, salmon and Eggs Benedict, which I’d probably try next time, if I can get over my fear of ordering hollandaise sauce at an airport. Overall, I’m glad I visited, but if you’re expecting perfection, keep looking - there are better breakfasts, even at Heathrow. This place is definitely a fun stop for Heston fans, and I’ll probably come back to give it another go. I genuinely enjoyed sitting here with my fancy drink, sharing time with the people I love before I long haul flight - so it achieved that goal. Heston’s name always brings with it expectations, but even the funky glasses and Michelin star connected brand can’t make chewy sausage skins and dry eggs fly.

The bill had a number of "add-ons" that racked up pretty quickly (like if you sat at a table they charged you more). TERRIBLE! Perfect?? Maybe perfect 45 pounds joke! I got welcomed nicely, ordered starter, main and cocktail. I got different drink order which can happen, but i was waiting for the correct drink at least ten minutes. Food has arrived in meantime. I got starter and main together for some reason and when I voiced that I got no apology. Started called mozzarela&cherry tomatoes with pickled onion contained maybe 50gr of smoked mozzarella in 5 thin slices with one halfmoon of pickled onion and rest was Cherry tomatoes. Value was basically below zero and if I would like to have Cherry tomatoes as starter i would have buy them in supermarket for bit different price! Arrabiata pasta was even worse - overcooked cheap quality penne with sauce from can. It was not eatable - I had few bites after adding salt and pepper myself. Ordered Parmesan, that was missing as well. At this point I was very disappointed and drink for 12 pounds did not do service as well. It was just so sweet and full of syrup that it was not drinkable. The worst gin fizz I had in my life. I raised all of these concerns to the waiter that was actually the nicest thing of all this, but her reaction was definitely raising concerns. I said I am not interested in getting discount and do not want to make any drama that I would just like the manager to know, but I never get back sincere apology and I was told I can write review.. that I can write whatever I want. Obviously this is is just there to make money on crappy food since travelers do not have that many seat to table options so there is no reason or need for them to try. but getting guests in under fine dining design and the name that has nothing to do with experience was the worst scam. So here I am writing review, but maybe I should check them before hand, I would go elsewhere if I knew!

Title: Disappointing Experience at The Perfectionist Review: I recently dined at The Perfectionist in Terminal 2, London Heathrow, and I was thoroughly disappointed. Far from the perfectionist standards implied by the name, the food quality and presentation were subpar, especially given Heston Blumenthal's renowned reputation. I ordered the avocado toast, expecting something innovative and well-presented. Instead, I received a very basic dish: good bread with avocado, some tomatoes, and a poached egg. There was no decoration, no creativity, and nothing to justify the high price. The presentation was boring and lacked any distinctive touch that one would expect from a Blumenthal establishment. My partner's eggs Benedict were equally disappointing. The bacon tasted old, and the hollandaise sauce was poorly executed. Not only did it look unappetizing, but it also tasted overwhelmingly of vinegar. The overall presentation was unappealing and far from what we anticipated. Also, I think that they make enough money here to be able to buy new plates that don’t look old and used. We do not recommend dining here. Heston Blumenthal should be ashamed of the food prepared in his name at this restaurant. Save your time and money and find a better dining option elsewhere.

I would recommend it for a relaxed quality bite if you have to wait some time for your flight. I had eggs Benedict, can recommend, but it won't be very filling. I'd go for English breakfast if you're after a more substantial meal.

Totally rip off, I would recommend people to avoid this place completely! Ordered a full English breakfast and asked for no beans and a extra sausage instead and they charged me extra £4 for a sausage!Total bill was £27 for a full English breakfast and a coke. The plate is massive but the amount of food on their plate is ridiculous. The worst experience I've had in ages.

I was pleasantly surprised how good the food and service was. I have low expectations of airport food. I expect to be treated as a captive audience, there to be fleeced but was genuinely caught off guard when the food and service were actually good. Thanks.

This place gets a shining award for the worst meal I’ve had in my life mixed with a rippoff to boot. Not to miss if that is your objective. I honestly cannot understand why these people, in a prime location of this T2 terminal, seem to be unable to produce a meal that is eatable, I mean simple things, not difficult things to get right. The burger was an absolute disgrace and the ricotta salad was utterly tasteless. It’s a shame people do not complain enough about their lack of quality so a more able establishment could take their place. Also, the poor people serving there don’t have a clue, when they saw we hadn’t eaten the food, they asked us if we did not like it and didn’t even try to understand or ask why when we replied : No …! Unbelievable!

Having been to this restaurant 3/4 times, I would say that the food is consistent and it’s nice. I wish there were halal options, but that would be a great bonus. My biggest criticism is the staff here. 3 of the times I have been, it’s not been good service. It’s very slow and they are not attentive. Only yesterday evening around 4pm I would say is the first time I’ve actually had good service. This is what I think could be improved. Also, another point is the desserts. It’s very weird the cookie and tarts are served cold. I feel like it would have been better served warm. If the staffing was improved, the place would be 5/5 for me, even with the lack of halal options as there are still a few things to order.

Waiters boderline rude, wine glass dumped on the table, pricey. Optional service charge of 10% added without asking. I was refunded but told to read the small print next time. Saving grace was the toffee pudding which was good.

Located in T2, this review is for breakfast. Expectations aren’t too high for airport eateries, but The Perfectionists’ Café does a decent job of ticking the boxes ahead of a long travel day. Food: I typically order the Full English, but in this trip I went with the scrambled eggs on toast with the addition of a fried egg (a girl can have whatever she wants). The scrambled eggs are a creamy scramble and delicious if you like it that way. If you want a murdered scramble, don’t do it. Fried egg was equally delicious as you’ll see from the yolk these are farm fresh eggs, and it makes a difference. Service: Efficient and friendly. Not overly attentive due to the volume of travelers in and out, but you’ll typically not have an issue getting someone’s attention when you need something. Cost: It’s an airport folks, but still very reasonable for LHR, and so much better than most US airport eateries in cost and value for money. Space: Try to get a seat overlooking the airport, but otherwise it’s open to the terminal as a whole.
