Excellent selection of German beer!

The People's Republic Bar is a modern, stylish bar. There is a good selection of beers, larger and cider, including a wide range of bottled continental beers and lagers. It is a good place just for drinking and trying beers you won't find in most other places. There was live music on when i visited, which really made it a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It is a nice bar.

Good beer, wide range of different options on tap and in cans. Great music. Nice atmosphere. I didn't expect to like it so much from the outside, definitely give it a go!!

Awesome small but lively boozer; providing a home to the full range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks of any season or time of day. A fantastic selection of drinks through the world often having a special event on to offer new tasting experiences. Pub quiz on a Sunday is excellent. Well written and researched questions, combined with a fun, slightly different podium scoring system. Refreshing to be back to pen and paper quizzing!

That's the only place that I'm addicted to while staying in Hull. Love it.

Not too busy, quiet with a different range of drinks .

This peculiar little bar had a lot to offer. It exuded a friendly and warm atmosphere, thanks in part to the great staff who made you feel right at home. The customers were equally welcoming, creating a convivial atmosphere. It was also dog-friendly, which added to its charm. What truly stood out was the wide selection of beverages available, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Please don’t offer board games in your venue - especially the game catchphrase where you literally have to “say what you see” … it was our first drink of the afternoon in what was an otherwise dead bar with no atmosphere. We were asked to keep the noise down by the owner in a game, which demands vocalisation. Also the vibe (and drinks) is contrived - they sell the Scottish “delicacy” - buckfast 🤢- along with a series of German Beers didn’t quite gel for us …. Sorry !

Great pint,real mix of people, student's and locals which gives it a nice atmosphere also they allow dogs too.

Really chilled vibe, always friendly. Buckfast cocktails are a winner!

Bob's Big Brain pub quiz is the best around, very generous prizes but it's more about the presentation! Huge choice of beers and spirits which help you appreciate the wallpaper!

we love it here! we popped on to ask if they are friendly, and yes they are. so we looked at their drinks menu and ordered our drinks. can definately recommend the chocolate gin! (not sure of the real name) lol. we have been in several times now. friendly staff and drinks are value for money too

Small bar offering a range of British and International alcohol at decent prices. It was an OK place to grab a beer. Locals were nice.

Huge selection of drinks, staff are friendly but the venue absolutely stinks of stale body odour. It’s twice I’ve visited.. first time I thought it was a smelly customer, this time you could cut the air with a knife.

Newland Ave is a good area for bars and cafes. This bar has a good selection of gins. I aim to try all of them, so will keep visiting with my friends

Loved it, they've got great beers on tap and bottles, I liked the music they were playing, seemed covid safe because they had screens between tables and the man at the bar was polite too. Will be back with the dog (they're dog friendly)

Nice relaxed atmosphere, and if you're lucky enough to get it, a retro games table you can sit and play against friends at.

Alternative and off-beat drinking and music venue. Visited during a mid-afternoon pub crawl that needed a change of scenery from traditional pubs. It proved to be a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The range of beers is stunning and truly global. All beers are listed with short descriptions that made the selection of the draught and bottled beers straight forward. It worth saying again the range of world beers is unique and well described in paper guides. The music was sublime and provided an ideal backdrop and conversation piece. I think most passers-by would regard this as 'young peoples' bar but our group was 55+ average age and felt at ease. The music is eclectic and not aimed at any specific age group. I'm very happy to have finally visited this intriguing bar and I'm looking forward to future sessions.

Superb pub. Amazingly chilled. Great range of anything you want to drink. Full of good and interesting people. Affordable. Every member of staff is superb. Can give advice on any drink to suit your palate. One of mine and my husbands favourite places to go. Not been before? It's a must try out!! 5 stars to TPR all round. You guys are great.

Nice range of beers in a relaxing atmosphere.

TPR has a fantastic selection of craft beer and a great selection of continental draft beer. Also available are some quite unusual spirits. It’s mostly about the music and easy atmosphere. Nearly all the music is played on vinyl unless there is a live band or a DJ on and the selection is always quite eclectic.The staff are friendly and relaxed.

Smelt of sweat, with lots of greyhead men in cargo pants patronising. Seating visually impactive but uncomfortable. Poor vodka selection. Bar staff friendly and quick.

Lots of different beers and spirits and incredibly original place with one of the best atmospheres of any bar that I have ever witnessed . With bored games ,pub quiz ,and much more definitely recommend .

I always leave The People's Republic with a smile on my face. It is one of, if not the, best bar in Hull. The staff are all delightful and friendly, the variety of alcohol they serve is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. They play some excellent music and the weekly quiz is a highlight to be sure! There's no place I'd rather spend my time and money whether I'm just having a few quiet drinks or gearing up for a night out.

Always a lovely experience. Nice to find a place to come and have a decent beer with my dog. Prices are a bit more than most however the amount of new and different foreign beers on make it worth while.
