The Pavilion Tea Room in Melton

Lovely location, with sooooooo much potential. We were served a limp sausage roll which had just been heated up in a microwave. Very disappointing.

Clearly geared up for eating outside. Typical cafe, prompt helpful service and prices as you'd expect.

No table service but I guess that is because it is outside. Food was expensive considering you eat outside in a park

Travelling back to Cornwall from Skegness! We passed this place and thought 'oooh lovely'. Tea and cake and maybe pork pie! The tea we got was in a paper cup and saw the teabag for probably 3 seconds. No pork pie (In Melton Mowbray?????). We had to ask for another teabag. There were no toilets. The proprietor directed us to toilets that were shut. None of the public loos were open at all and some looked like they had been shut for years!

All the food is locally sourced and is of a really good quality, varied menu and very well cooked. Pleasant atmosphere and great customer service. Mashed avocado on sourdough toast and bacon is just yummy as is the scrambled eggs ,wilted spinach and bacon on toasted muffins..nice and buttery. Highly recommended
