The Patten Arms in Wyre

Just happened to stop here on our way home as the M6 was shut due to a bad accident. We got lucky. Staff are really friendly, the place was busy for lunchtime, a popular place for locals and food was piping hot. We both had the Braising Steak & Guinness pie, it was not just very filling but very tasty with rich yummy gravy. Totally full afterwards. We would make a detour to visit this pub next time we travel the M6. Excellent, thank you.

Brilliant food apart from crispy duck starter which was beautifully presented just a little too crispy for me staff were straight back with apologies but really enjoyable amazing scampi with stunning home made tartare sauce could have eaten a bowl with crusty bread well worth the visit staff great food worth the trip

Stayed near here and recommended by our hosts. Booked for early Thursday evening and from the start the staff and service couldn't have been better. The menu was great, I chose the beef stroganoff my husband the belly pork, both were amazing, top quality and freshly made to order. I chose the biscoff sticky toffee pudding for dessert, beautifully soft and plenty of sauce. Husband cheese board was a great selection of local cheeses. Fantastic meal, highly recommend 😍

Not a frequent reviewer, but felt compelled to leave a rating after ordering the burrata salad. For being a cosy and small eatery in a rural town the quality was beyond impressive. On par with dishes from restaurants in European capitals that boast awards and would happily charge you double.

We had an amazing meal. Roast pork belly was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked crispy crackling, wilted greens roast potato and beautiful red wine gravy with sweet peaches. Salmon en croute and steak and guinness pie was divine. Will definitely recommend having dinner here. A real treat

All the food we had was of a high quality and excellent. Every dish was superb. Will definitely be going again.

Absolutely Incredible! This is our go-to pub for any occasion! The food is always brilliant, service is perfect and I cannot fault! Portion size is very generous too! There are dishes to suit everyone (and I love the fact they add new options to try!) Would absolutely recommend

We had intended eating elsewhere, but that fell through and with a quick google search we discovered The Patten Arms. What a great little hidden gem. We were only after a light lunch, and they were perfect. The beer garden was superb and with a beautiful sunny day, fantastic. Talking with the landlady she explained about how it had all changed since lock-down and necessary diversification, leading to them being a wedding venue etc. If we are ever passing though again it is definitely on our list of eateries.

Called on the off chance for evening meal, the staff were so welcoming and accommodated us. Food both from the specials and the main menu was superb and a cut above your typical pub fare. The guest cask ales were top notch justifying this pub in the Good Beer Guide. So glad we called in 🙏🏽

We had a wonderful get together for wedding guests, the night before our son’s wedding, at The Patten Arms. We booked the Marquee and it was a great decision The private bar was very convenient and Chemonie and Kerry took great care of us and were friendly and efficient.We had pizzas, salad and chips, which everyone enjoyed. Parking is plentiful and the place is easy to find. I can truly recommend The Patten Arms for any function.

This is my favourite place. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent and not over priced. I bring a lunch group here every month and other friends all the time. Absolutely excellent.

Really nice food with great service.

I booked a table for Fathers Day 2 months ago. As my father is 90 I requested a dining chair with arms. We live an hour away from The Patten Arms, just before we were about to set off, I noticed I had 2 missed calls from Patten Arms. Phoned them back, no reply. Phoned them back again and was advised they had no suitable seating. Additionally there was no disabled toilet. This was extremely disappointing bearing in mind our booking was made 2 months ago. I advised I'd have to keep the booking as we were unlikely to find anywhere else at this late stage. I did, in fact, find somewhere else so rang them to cancel. Upon answering I was put on hold. Then I was cut off and had to phone again. A bad experience without even visiting!

Steak & Kidney puddings home made and a firm favourite.

The Patten Arms is a lovely little pub in a great location just North of Garstang. It has a community feel inside, with 4 real ales on when we visited. There are a few tables out front next to the road, and a lovely beer garden with benches at the back, tucked away from the road. We haven't tried the food yet, but must come back to do so, as it looks great and they have a nice varied menu.

Food was a bit 'warmed up'. Too much microwaving done. Too much salt added to our starter.

We ordered lemonade and it came just as sparkling water ordered a non alcoholic drink (it came with alcohol) waitresses didn't even say sorry for there mistake. Not busy at all and it took 30 minutes for drink to arrive. Horrible service would will not be visiting again.

One of the best traditional pubs in the Northern Hemisphere, always a happy welcome by the friendly staff, fantastic cask ales, fabulous food and great atmosphere, its one of those pubs that's full of character in all four seasons, rain or shine, a credit to the landlord....long live the Patten Arms

Fantastic great advert for an English country pub with well kept beer and beautiful food

Lovely food. We shared 4 starters between 6 of us, pork belly bites, duck pancakes, onion bajis and bao buns. Everyone enjoyed the mains. Pleasant dining area. Good choice of beers. Waiting service was curt.

Attended the tasting menu evening in March. Great night, great value and the whole team made this a special evening. Matthew is a great cook with wonderful twists on classics and his own inventions too. Chemi and her team kept the evening on track and the paired wine flowed well. We are already looking forward to the next tour of Matthews culinary creations.

Tried The Patton Arms as heard such good things. The booking ans welcome was fantastic. The attentiveness of the staff wonderful. The wife really enjoyed her meal. My meal was OK. But if honest not as I expected from the level of service as the price of the food. Pastry was not the best and veg a little sad. I say this as I has recently had the very same meal, homemade, elsewhere and it didn't match up. Feel so bad as I wanted so much to praise everything. I would have had a special but they were not yet written on the board. We will go bad and see if it was a one off. Given 4 stars as the welcome and service was outstanding.

Fabulous food with generous portions, prices as expected just a bit disappointed with the service, we were given a desert menu and waited 25 mins and no one came to take our order so we left after main course as lost the will with waiting !

Exceptional food, service and atmosphere

Well, that was most definitely the best Sunday roast I have ever had out, EVER!!! Roast beef brisket just fell apart when touched, beautifully cooked and well seasoned. Everything was perfectly cooked, veg was nice and Al dente as I like them. The honey mustard sausages were divine. Great service, great atmosphere and a bargain for the quality food we had. Would definitely go again and happily work through the menu.

Phenomenal, best food for ages .

We had our wedding reception at the Patten Arms because we have always loved the delicious food made by Matt (the chef) and the cozy country pub feel of the place. We were thrilled that the conversion of the bowling green meant we could be the first to have a sit-down, three-course wedding breakfast in the marquee and have use of the beer garden for our 50 guests. We worked with Chemonie (the events manager) in the run-up to decide and taste the menu with its choice of three starters, four mains and three desserts. Together we also planned what decorations and seat covers we would bring and when we could get access to set-up. Chemonie helped us organise hay bales for seating to be delivered from a local farm, to add to the rural feel. The day was just incredible! It looked perfect - so smart inside marqueee. Many commented on the tasty meals, which were devine and fine dining standard, which arrived at each table like clockwork so that everyone could eat together. We had all the space and privacy we needed for our games and speeches and band and disco, which Chemonie joined for a dance. My wife insisted that Chemonie and Matt come into the marquee after desserts to get the round of applause they deserved!

My mum had her 70th birthday party in the marquee at the Pattern Arms. They did an amazing hog roast for us, all the staff were brilliant, the atmosphere was inviting & friendly. They layout was great for ~100 people, with plenty of seating, a dance floor for the band, a bar just for the event & toilets. Can’t fault it. Would highly recommend for any event! They even fixed the cake we brought over & ruined in transport :) Thanks Matt!

Excellent service from Matt and the team. We had a full hog roast party in the marquee and garden bar. A great time despite typical Lancashire summer weather ( rain and a gale…but hey it’s July) We had a great time. It’s an excellent venue.

I am allergic to all seafood fish and mollusks. We stated this when booking and when we got there, we spoke to the head chef on arrival. Despite that when my food arrived I had specifically asked if the chips were fried separately and I was told I could NOT have them but there they were on my plate, I enquired to the waiter and was told that all my food was prepared separately and in the oven. So I had one surprised but happy as I very rarely get to have chips as the are always fried with the fish. Well it was a mistake they eventually came out rather casually as grabbed the chips off my plate and said there had been a mix up. Now there were on 2 other tables not like they were busy. I got sick and had to have the paramedics come out 2 EpiPens later I felt terrible but alive. Do not trust this place if you have allergies.

Arrived to have lunch to find no staff available so had to look for them. It turned out that we had arrived just after lunchtime serving had finished. They were extremely good in still serving us lunch. Pub is a little tired. Food was good and certainly would recommend the pork bites. Lacking in atmosphere but think you should try at least once.

Called in twice recently for a pint. Service was polite and attentive. Courage Directors was spot on.

Wow! What a fantastic place to host a party! Thank you so much to all at The Patten for hosting Mum’s Birthday celebration but a special mention to Matt and his team for the amazing food. The buffet was absolutely delicious and everyone was treated to a delightful feast of flavours! The staff are all amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Stopped for a Sunday Roast, absolutely loved it, best pub food I have ever tasted. We will be making The Patten a regular stop on our trips out.

Had a lovely meal here with friends , as always the food was delicious, the staff are very efficient and courteous. I have a problem with the upstairs toilet. On arrival, a member of the staff informed me discreetly I could use the pavilion toilet and where it was located . A great experience all around ,can't wait to return

This is my local. Excellent rural watering hole with friendly service and excellent food. Cosy fireplace in winter, great outdoor seating in Summer.
