The Parlour in Southwark

Popped in after lunch at a local pub. Needed something to take home as a treat for my son after his first day at school and spotted the banana bread and Nutella cake immediately. Did not disappoint! Moist, well baked delight and I’ll definitely be back for more! Lovely setting perfect for a quiet moment (late afternoon) always walk past and it’s bursting with dogs, babies and the locals. Good vibe in a lovely spot opposite Brockwell Park

This was recomended by the hotel , such a great menu with good healthy and harty choices to choose from, tasty.

I go here almost every Saturday after Parkrun in Brockwell Park. I’m vegetarian and this does a great range of options for both veggies and vegans. Buddha bowl or Linda McCartney Suasage bap is banging.

Great smoothie, great coffee and perfect eggs. Very enjoyable. Could do with feeling a bit "warmer" (although I don't mean the staff who were very friendly. Will return!

Fantastic food, had the parlour eggs with salmon and avocado as extra, what a delight and then had some banana cake; who said you could not have a desert after breakfast!

Good food, good service (even though they were extremely busy) and pleasant, if not rather cramped, environment. Definitely a great option to have in Herne Hill.

This is my favourite local cafe! I spend a lot of time here, either working on my laptop (it's a freelance friendly spot), stopping off for coffee after a walk in the park or meeting friends for brunch. The food is fantastic - nothing beats the French toast - and the Buddha bowls are a great idea. There are loads of vegan and gluten-free options, and I love the fact you can create your own smoothie. Lovely staff and owner. Couldn't ask for a nicer little gem.

Popped in here for a takeaway coffee this afternoon as the place looked really nice from the outside. Classic example of why not to judge a book by its cover. Service was appalling and coffee was, quite frankly, disgusting. Much better elsewhere in HH.

We sometimes meet here with our dog because they are nice about letting her in. But lately the service has been rubbish. In a tiny cafe surely it's a good idea not to have your staff wearing headphones... I'd have thought being able to hear and say hi back to a customer is the minimum you could expect? But the food is OK. One staff listening to headphones and the other one wouldn't interact at all "what comes with the porridge" met with a blank stare. We had a coffee then went round the corner to deliciously ella under the arches to continue our eating and drinking meeting - they also love dogs, and while pricier, they look you in the eye, say hello and chat back to you. A better place to go for sure!

A pleasant little place with friendly service. Relaxed vibe. Sadly (and crucially for me) they don't know how to make a flat white.

Simple, welcoming and friendly. Good coffee, tea and cakes. And dogs welcome. Excellent addition to the neighbourhood scene.

Knowing I had a couple of hours to kill before a meeting I looked up TripAdvisor for good coffee hereabouts. I got the good coffee, and good ambience, and as it was a sunny day I had a great view of Brockwell Park across the road.

Popped in to get out of the September sun and was impressed. Minimal wee cafe but would totally recommend!

Lovely cafe with friendly staff, delicious coffee and laudably dog friendly. (The owner has a beautiful husky). Seems to be becoming a real community hub in Herne Hill.

The food and friendly atmosphere at The Parlour is exactly what you need in a high quality local cafe. It is in a great location opposite the park, great for dog walkers- they even sell doggy treats! I can't recommend it enough.

Loved the salad boxes with great touches like seeds and mozzarella balls to make being healthy attractive! Lovely modern, clean décor. The location is perfect for a take away into the park. Welcoming and quirky atmosphere.

Well located by Brockwell park, the Palour has great coffee, friendly service and great healthy veggie meals. We will definitely use again.

A really nice new Herne Hill option with a lovely atmosphere - really enjoyed the flat white I had and they have a really good selection of healthy breakfast options.

The Parlour is a friendly, relaxed cafe with an interesting menu. The staff were accommodating with a gluten free option and had really good veggie breakfast.

This place looks cool but has such a strange vibe and disappointing coffee. We had to whisper because it was so quiet, quite strange for a little cafe.
