Great place great staff great food a really good atmosphere and a wonderfully painted floor which caught my eye upon walking through the door

Had a 11th birthday party. Kids loved it, good value for money. Nice food and lots of games to play. Would absolutely recommend it!

Quirky, friendly and approachable, love the decor of the painted oil drum by the door. Thank you also so much for taking a poster for our theatre show Ben Hur over at St Petrocs

I took my son and 3 of his friends for an afternoon of gaming and food. A parents dream for those who don't know what to do with a group of teenagers, and a kids dream for those who want to be surrounded with what feels like a limitless choice of games. While they were playing, I re-lived my own childhood on an old style arcade machine with hundreds of gaming options. My wrists and fingers were aching after enjoying all those old games I remember paying 10p to play in the 80's. The kids loved the food [very unhealthy if you're into CrossFit, but perfect for a 13 year old] and the choices of milkshakes with crazy names with lots of sweets. Plenty of people came through the place in the 3 hours that we were there, but it never felt like we were encroaching on a hard core group of people's territory. The staff were great and it seems that there are plans to extend the options for VR games upstairs too. When my brother next comes down to visit next, we're going there to re-live our arcade memories for an hour or so. Cheap parking nearby makes it very accessible too.

Get along and support this great business. We popped in whilst on holiday and stayed for 3 hours with my 2 teenage sons. Food was lush, great range of burgers, pizzas and loaded fries plus great desserts too. There are a large variety of board and card games to play in one area and a room full of computer games and VR games the other side. Free play as long as you purchase food/drink. The owner literally helped us 1:1 explaining the games and VR set up, much to our delight. Quiet on Wednesday night so we could play on everything. Free parking nearby after 4pm in the town. Make the most of this gem. Wish I lived nearer!

I live local and popped in with my 10 Yr old son to see what it was about. He had honeycomb ice cream. I can't remember the price but do remember it was really cheap and the ice cream was amazing and plenty! A group of older boys were in at the same time. They were pleasant, weren't rowdy at all, just chilled out playing chess! Great place for the young 'uns to chill and the food and drinks really really cheap so they have somewhere to go and play games, spend their pocket money and still come home with change. Cracking little place!

Very friendly welcoming environment, great tasting and good quality food that is also good value for money. All round great place to go and fun for all the family.

Lots of things to do, food great and shakes are awesome. We played all sorts and the children all loved it.

I love coming into The Pad, very inclusive, friendly atmosphere, the owner of the gaming cafe Kelvin Donaghy is friendly, hilarious, intelligent, warm, level-headed, has a positive attitude, does not make you feel uncomfortable, insecure, anxious and like I said it's very family friendly, also autism friendly, if you are local to engage with old and new friends, participate in fun and sometimes competitive tournaments, the newly introduced The Pad Gamers League are a real challenge, because I'm on the autism spectrum and I have anxiety and stress, I have been a customer at this lovely gaming cafe helpful with my confidence and meeting new friends and acquaintances. If you ever come to Bodmin, do feel free to visit The Pad. Kelvin and his lovely family also run a Youth Club from ages 3-20 for those with learning difficulties simply called The Group, with in The Pad there is a charity pot for donations to said Youth Club. Ever since I have recently moved into Bodmin, I have been a regular customer even more so in where I lived before. The Equally Abled Nights are a good way for those who have learning difficulties to engage with old and new friends. The food is very delicious and the milkshake combos you can order are insane, I know there was someone who ordered a Frazzles and Rolo Milkshake and recently I ordered a Oreo, Skittles and Bubblegum Ice Cream Milkshake which was very delicious. Visited several times, the kids really enjoy creating thier own milkshakes. Food is always really good , locally sourced ingrediants. And very reasonably priced too! Look foward to visiting again soon.

I'm very lucky, in that I live 20 seconds away from this place. My two children always want to go to play pool and the various other games. Brings back some fond memories from my childhood with all the old games, posters etc. The atmosphere is amazing. Its what the cafe's and games shops were like 15 years ago when I was a teenager. Very friendly place. Its somewhere you can have a quick pop in for a drink and some games, or somewhere to stay the day.

I’ve taken my son in here a few times recently. I love the games available to play, some really retro, some modern. The food is always nice and well priced. Coffee is good too. The ice cream selection is incredible!!!!

Fantastic range of family friendly fun, dog friendly, loads of different games consoles, VR, comics, DVDs pool table, soft play for toddlers fantastic decor lots of time and effort has gone into making a family friendly environment, food is outstanding value, owner and staff are super friendly, the milkshakes are innumerable, something for everyone!!!! Always enjoy going to The Pad, great atmosphere and a large variety of food including fabulous create your own shakes and desserts . Wether you enjoy video games, board games or just sitting and having a chat with a nice bite to eat then this is your place. Has a soft play for the littles and the staff are really friendly.

What an amazing place, great food at great prices, milkshakes to die for, soft play for toddlers & all sorts of gaming for all ages, my son absolutely loves it here.

I love this place, my kids love this place. A great place to just hang out. We recommend the Marmite fries and Bourbon biscuit milk shakes! We often end up playing Top Trumps or Guess Who instead of the electronics. An asset to the Bodmin community.

Absolutely amazing place. Perfect for a place to meet up and have fun. Perfect for kids on a rainy day. Amazing for birthday parties. Food is on point and even has veggie and vegan options too. Retro gaming for dad, soft play for little ones, and coffee for mum.

My kids and I absolutely love The Pad. The food is always lovely, and always served with a smile by people who make you feel like part of the family. It's a great place to stop for lunch and a few games with the kids (or without the kids) We will be returning again and again.

I've popped in a few times with my son and we love it! The food is delicious and the owner is a bit of a legend! Definitely the best place to go out for a meal in Bodmin if not Cornwall!

We “popped” in and stayed for 3 hours! The owner and staff are very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We had the cheeseburger family deal, £20 for 4 with fries and drinks so wasn’t expecting cordon blue or anything so we were all pleasantly surprised how delicious they were. The choice of milkshakes is amazing and again really good and tasty. The Pad is a kids dream place, games consoles, big TV’s, toddlers play area, cool decor - it’s what a burger place should be like for kids rather than the mass produced tasteless food and cheap plastic toy happy meal offerings the big chain stores offer. Well done to everyone involved, wish it was nearer to where we live - we will definitely be coming back next time we’re down and I can’t recommend it strongly enough to everybody to visit.

Stopped by with a friend and grabbed myself a milkshake and graphic novel. You can choose multiple types of chocolates and sweets to be blended into a thick milkshake with a dollop of ice cream, VERY tasty. Will definitely be coming again for more. The graphic novel I got was Batman v Superman, only 5 pages in so far but loving it. Good value for money, friendly staff, good service.

It was very busy but Kelvin was organised and efficient. As well as amusing kids while they were waiting. Lovely pkace to eat, drink, meet... Def going back. My kids live it.

Warm and welcoming, owner is one of a kind,so cheerful. Food is delicious. A visit to The Pad is a truly unique experience, you can mix and match from the menu but I would recommend trying the combinations on offer as they taste amazing. I played board games at the table whilst waiting a short while for my food. The Pad holds gaming tournaments, Pokemon evenings and the occasional eating challenges which raise money for local charities also Retro gaming and DVD / Game sales. My Son uses an electric wheelchair, this also was no issue. The Pad is an asset to Bodmin and well worth a visit.

Kelvin the owner has created a place to go to browse some computer games or DVDs , have a bite to eat ( even a chance to go on the Hall of Fame or The Hall of Shame)!! or just have a drink. The names of the food are as witty as the owner, and it is locally sourced. The Pad has a great food and drinks menu. I like that he remembers how I like my coffee so he does it to my preference. If you are in the Bodmin town please visit The Pad in Honey Street. Trust me you will leave with a smile and realise what I write on this review is true.

This place is brilliant! Not just because of the food, which is amazing and has the most original menu ever (Check out the Nuggety Cow Pig burger!) but is also a great venue for social gaming such as Pokemon card tournaments and Fortnight on the projector and has a fantastic selection of video games, DVD's, consoles and merchandise. A true original in Bodmin!

Kelvin is very welcoming, a well put together and family friendly environment. Excellent food and drinks. Value for money. Kelvin has created a wonderful gaming zone.

The kids love going, browse the dvd's playing games and of course the milkshakes. Plenty of 'off the menu' options, if you see it on the counter you can have it. Kelvin is always in a happy mood, and would definitely spend more time in there if I had the money. Have also had clothing printed there, good value for money.

Our family love it here. We try and go at least once a month for the food and milkshakes :) such regulars, our boy picks out his own ice lolly lol.

Fantastic place to take your children to. Great food and great service . My disabled son loves the fish finger sandwiches. Milkshakes are sooo nice and you can make up your own . Plenty for the children to do .Pool, video games but also the traditional games like chess and snakes and ladders. WELL WORTH A VISIT. you won't be disappointed .

Kelvin offers what people are looking for- decent inexpensive food and drink, a great place to socialise, a safe base for youngsters to be themselves. He also offers a witty commentary on the news of the day, and always service with a smile!

Everyone in Bodmin knows the lovely owner Kelvin as the Bodmin Baboon! The Pad is a great place to pick up a bargain in new and used games, consoles etc as well as excellent for getting things printed (often at amazing speed too!). Great prices, amazing staff, come for the games and stay for the yummy food! Another of Bodmin's best locations!!

Me and my family have been going to the pad every Tuesday and Thursday evenings for the past few months as it’s open late until 8pm. It’s an amazing place to just hangout with a group of friends to just eat or play games, we usually go there for the Pokemon card nights on a Tuesday and the tournaments. The food is excellent and very creative but also allowing people to make their own choice of burger and even milkshakes. It’s brilliant service only makes the place more enjoyable. It also has a pool table, mega drive console, SNESconsole and old arcade machines for the kids to enjoy. Such a nice atmosphere that I can see me and my family enjoying for a long time to come.

I always wanted a place where my kids can hang out and me not worry if they Are out without me. Now we have it. While they eat from the amazing, inventive and good value for money menu they can play games for free. They have food challenges and game tournaments from old school consoles and top trumps to the newer consoles and Pokémon cards. Then you can have shakes made from any combination of anything you can think of. The staff are on point. Great service and always having a laugh with the customers. What's more importantly it won't break the bank feeding a family. As an adult there is also plenty to do... Even the pool table is only 50p a go... You can also book a birthday party down there to suit your budget. I can't rate this place enough... If carlsberg did gaming shops this is what they would have come up with. Hats off to the man who put all the hard work into making this happen.
