Lovely experience, interesting views over the river and marina.

Wonderful place with great views. The only problem was there were no quality lagers available on draught. Just bottles for sale. The only available lager was hopp lager,which is awful. They need to get in some Madri,Heineken or Cruz Campo ? For a better choice.

Sadly The Outlook is closed for redecorating.

Food and staff were very good. Would recommend the roast beef

Roast beef was lovely. Wasn't sure about Yourshire pudding, it was hard.Cream brulee was runny. Otherwise, it's a great place, great atmosphere, lovely scenery, friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely place for breakfast. Google maps will take you to the right place - but not where you should park! Genuine tea pot was a nice touch, shame the spout dripped when pouring - though this could have easily been used error! Staff were polite and attentive, food prep was super quick and my Eggs Royale were 😋. Lovely view of the marina from inside, will be even better sitting outside if/when the summer arrives. My extremely minor moans would be that the cheesy Muzak was a little loud for my liking, only one tea bag in the pot which was also a little chipped. All first world problems indeed, and absolutely nothing that would stop me recommending this place... Fully intend to return in the summer. 🌞 Came again with my son, despite being busy & short staffed - service & food were impeccable as always!

Food is excellent. All cooked to perfection. Staff very friendly too. Great outlook onto marina. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic light lunch. Very reasonably priced and food was delicious. Great service and friendly staff.

Service disappointing. Arrived to a fairly busy cafe, lady serving seemed a little flustered. Ordered the breakfast bap offer, and was told they had run out but could do it from the kitchen next door! Wasn't sure what she meant- did we need to order from next door, but she said that she could sort for us- great! Asked if this would still be the offer price, and wasn't told any different. Paid, didn't take a receipt- mistake on my part. Sat down and then began to question the price I had paid, as it made the piece of cake I had also ordered over £6!! Went up, was told that she was too busy to discuss but would come over when things had settled! The young waiter (who is very pleasant) bought out the breakfast bap ( which was very nice) and we questioned him if the price was different as it was from "next door". He said no difference in price. The lady who served us then came over with our drinks, and cake. Slapped some coins on the table and explained that she had charged the coffee and breakfast bap separately instead of giving the offer because it was coming from "next door" and its more expensive?! Different to what the waiter had said? She did apologise but it wasn't a real apology as again mentioned it was because it had come from "next door". Next door is literally a kitchen in the same building but they try and separate into a cafe and a restaurant- presumably?! Everyone makes mistakes but it's how you rectify them that counts. Sadly, it's a lovely location but won't be returning due to attitude of staff member. The food was actually fine.

This place took me by surprise not only the food is top tier the people are friendly, brilliant customer service and a relaxing experience

Went for lunch yesterday very disappointed poor service expensive for sandwiches made with cheap sliced bread and low quality filling we’ve been before and enjoyed the visit was a hidden gem not going to be returning

Attended for a party and the setting is beautiful with the marina and outdoor area. Lots of choices for drinks and food we had as a buffet was beautiful.

Not a boat person so visiting here was a bit out of the norm for us but I genuinely enjoyed it. We had the full English breakfast(£12), which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and had very nice view. There's also onsite parking. Would definitely recommend.

Nice place to go and sit down for a chat Wouldn't recommend the food - price and portion not worth it. Ordered a haddock and mash and it was more mash than haddock with some sort of mayo sauce all over the dish.. Couldn't even taste the little piece of fish I did have because of it. Couldn't finish my (£13!) meal as it felt heavy due to the amount of potato on my plate.. My partner ordered some scampi wish was around the same price if not more which he also found disappointing. To pay so much for just 6 pieces of scampi which was tasteless and mostly batter. The desserts weren't the best either.. Ordered an elton mess which I make a lot at home and its unbeliable how tasteless the restaurant made it.. Barely any strawberries and strawberry sauce.. Mostly tasteless thick heavy cream. The brownie my partner ordered wasn't the greatest either.. Such a shame as the place looks very lovely. It was nice seeing the painting on the wall and that it was possible to purchase them. Very nice touch! We had to ask twice for cutlery and the wait to be served took ages considering how empty the place was. However: The waitress was lovely and very smiley which made the experience a lot better! Bless her heart.

Food with a view. Really good breakfast with fantastic service. Will visit again when back in town. Food is excellent, price is fair. Restaurant fills up quickly so booking in advance is recommended.

Very disappointing- was told that there was ‘technical’ difficulties in the kitchen ??? Think it meant there was no chef . 45 minutes to prepare 2 miserable sandwiches and ham, egg ( over cooked) & chips ( undercooked) Nice setting but won’t be going again - did complain about the poor experience to the waiter

Very nice workers and very helpful they have the best food and best drinks for a good price and there’s in doors and outside seating and there a lovely view to eat and drink your Food and it’s was a pleasure to eat here defo will be coming again

Staff friendly, welcoming and a nice warm atmosphere. Not the most extensive of menus but had a good Specials board and I found no trouble in choosing something. Food was reasonably priced, portion size was plenty (and I have a large appetite). It was hot on arrival and arrived very quickly after ordering. I had hoped to have the strawberry cheesecake with white chocolate for dessert but unfortunately I hadn't left enough space for this. Well worth a look especially on a day when you can sit outside.

We visited The Outlook Café enroute to an event nearby it's front door. With time as the essence there was only time for a quick coffee before we had to move on. Nevertheless there was time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere the Café provided. Our drinks were if good quality and we were able to see diners enjoying full English breakfasts. Impressed by the cleanliness and service it was resolved to return one day to sample the cafés fare whilst enjoying the view over Fox's Marina. We will return!

Very nicely served lunch, if slightly pretentious. Nice food and good service. Hard to disguise the fact that this is an industrial unit, but the outlook over the marina is interesting if not picturesque.

Visited today for an afternoon tea, and we both thought how very good it was, excellent would definitely recommend and the staff excellent as always. Visited the venue again on Sunday 21st August and yet again can't fault the staff or service or the venue BUT PLEASE TRY TO SORT THE CLIENTEL as yet again the same person that I wrote about in the last review was back again with the dog and completely of her head due to drink and on this occasion ended up on the floor partially unconscious, surely you should deal with this before it gets that bad as we were with friends and really did not come over as very professional and surely you must see that this would put off other visitors and also us from revisiting considering myself and other members of my family visit regularly. Very pleasant surroundings, and very nice staff, not a massive menu but small and good is best, excellent breakfast, worth a visit. Visited again last night and we have used a lot in the past as one of our favourite venues and once again cannot fault the food or service, excellent BUT was not impressed with the certain table that decided it was okay to allow their dog to roam freely around the restaurant under people's Tables while they were eating, dancing around the tables with a child while attached to the dog lead being very loud and very aggravating Not what I would expect in this kind of venue. Obviously drink played a big part but this should have been stopped and they should have been asked to leave If you are going to allow dogs they should be kept under control and also their owners

Great venue, open to the public, within Fox's Marina. Includes a bar / restaurant as well as a separate cafe.

We had a really lovely breakfast today. Great service, friendly welcome and superb setting. Thank you for the special birthday table sign and tea lights.

Called yesterday with a group of Ramblers for breakfast the food and service was excellent I had the full english amd everything was great particularly liked the proper mushroom. Well done

We eat here several times a year. The staff are always pleasant and friendly and nothing is too much bother for them. We both had the Hake which was totally fantastic cooked to perfection and perfectly balanced with all of the other ingredients on the plate. The beer was also very nice and the bar appeared to be well stocked to suit all tastes. As it is in a working marina there are plenty of sailing boats to look at as you enjoy your food. We will certainly visit again when we go to the ipswich area.

Went there on a Friday evening for a meal and found it a nice relaxing place to eat. There were tables inside and out. The menu was not huge but had a good range of meals. We had three different meals amongst the four of us and all were perfect. The staff were very friendly too. Will definitely go back.

Let down by the confrontational service I'm afraid, but shall be back as it's a nice place and I'm now in a position to request butter and not marg on my fish finger sarnie and won't be subdued when I ask for fresh crisps instead of soggy ones (this was only one young male member of staff so odds are I'll be served by someone else next time, no tip left)

I do love this place! A really nice place to stop in after a long dog walk and watch the boats. The staff are some of the most attentative and friendly staff I have ever met. The selection of drinks is great and the food is top quality.

Beer choice isn't great and the place is not the nicest inside. Tables outside on the river will be a beautiful setting on a summers day and I've heard the food is very good so I'll repost when I've tried it.

A lovely place for a few drinks. It overlooks the marina, with a lovely veranda when the sun is out and a very nice bar inside. They do a selection of Tapas and there is also full restaurant menu. Opening hours have recently been increased to normal pub hours from Wednesday through to Sunday

Lovely, and Staff always friendly, menu small but better as it's easier to make your mind up. Update, went here for dinner on Saturday, the meal was again lovely and although new staff very nice. But sadly management do need to ask diners/ drinkers who are inside to keep there dogs if brought in, on a lead and by them. Not as we experienced where a dog was allowed to wander up and down the resturant coming over to our table several times which we did not want moreso while we were eating. Also the people(2 and a child) who had the dog were very very loud that although we were across the room from them sometimes we could not hear each other speak on our table. We went for a nice evening out with family which we have done there quite a few times, but I'm afraid if this happens agsin we definetly will not be going there.

Visited at lunch today and had fish and chips. The batter was perfect and light, the fish was beautiful and white and fresh. Chips were well cooked and the peas and accompliaments finished the dish. We have been doing a tour of Suffolk and Norfolk looking for one the best in the two Counties and we found it today in terms of good quality and value for money. Be back soon

Only had lattes so not able to fully judge, but disappointed by the "outlook". Expected lovely River Orwell views but all u see are containers and a yacht basin. Also it's a long walk from the car park for disabled folk like us with seemingly no nearer blue badge places. May come back for the music nights which sound interesting.

First time that we've been here and very impressed with the staff, the food and the safe seating. Everything very, very clean and noticed how staff constantly cleaning. Toilets very clean too. We will definitely go here again!

Mushroom soup was inadated with unnecessary crotons. They did deduct the soup though from the final bill. Chicken liver pate wasn't good either. Had a good 20 minute wait for these two items and establishment wasn't busy! Won't recommend or return. Shame as a nice setting. Wanted a breakfast ideally and considering lack of trade thought they could've done so.

Popped in for an early morning breakfast and overall it was a fantastic experience. The waitress that served me was very kind and helpful, the scenery and the decor was pleasant but most importantly, the food was perfect.

I visited for breakfast and just wanted to say what a brilliant experience I had. The location of this establishment is perfect, as the views are amazing across the marina, a really nice setting on a sunny winters morning. The food was excellent (full English breakfast), and our waitress couldn't be more helpful in ensuring our needs were met. Will definitely be coming back!

Fabulous place, clean, very friendly service and fresh food. Plenty of parking next-door (not to be confused with the marine parking, please make sure to drive a bit further towards Shotley to then take the next entrance to the left, once inside, take another left and you will find the parking straight ahead of you). Absolutely recommended.

A number of us have been going for months, mostly on a Tuesday and Sundays when we could. We always enjoyed ourselves and the staff were always very friendly. We became such regulars that we booked a table each week and did not have to give the name as the staff knew without asking and did not need to ask what we were having. So disappointed today when we all turned up to be handed a new menu. As we have health issues we always had the jacket potatoes and just looking around the restaurant you could see how popular they were. These have been taken off the menu and have not been replaced with anything we could have forcing us to leave. This is more of a thank you to the staff as over the months they have always been so nice and we are going to miss them. We so enjoyed our Tuesday lunchtimes. Sally and all the rest.Could you please respond if you do have jacket potatoes put back on the menu at any time. Thank you. Thankyou so much for your response and will be booking a table for next week tomorrow.

Staff friendly and helpful, was going to have scones but unfortunately had run out but staff were helpful as didn't want full breakfast as on menu but they were happy to do bacon sandwiches! All clean and presentable reasonably priced will return

Great food, freindly staff and fabulous views over the marina and river.

Came for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. Sat on the terrace to enjoy smoked salmon on scrambled egg on toast. Not crowded at all, a little slice of calm on the marina just outside ipswich. Will definitely be back!
