The Oro Distillery in Dumfries & Galloway

Visited with friends who were staying for the weekend. Friendly, informative staff. Tried a few of the gins (the non-alcoholic one for the driver). The tapas with the drink is fantastic, just enough to nibble on… Visited the little shop and purchased some ‘home grown’ gin to takeaway. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic atmosphere, great team, really good own brand gin, incomparable!! A must go to venue where their own spirits art fantastic and one can even tour the distillery.

Can't stress enough how great this place is. Being a frequent flyer of pubs I'd like to think I know a good one from a bad one and this is quite possibly the best I've visited on the county. The most delicious cocktails, lovely staff and a great experience. Honestly the ambrosia cocktail is the best thing I've ever tasted ever, made from their own rum. Really special place.

I drove my wife and son to this hidden gem. We entered the bar and were seated on sofas and armchairs and my wife and son ordered Margaritas. Two measures of tequila and one of Cointreau make for a very drinkable cocktail - or so I was told - several times! We had a look at the still, were shown around the shop, where gins and rum was offered for sale and I poured my family members into the car and took them home! The place was spotless, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the distilling process and the experience was most pleasant!

We unfortunately didn't have time to stop for long to get the full Oro Experience but the gin is lovely. Happy to support a small local Scottish distillery. The gin we got is lovely - already recommended to gin liking friends!

Visited this little gem of a place with friends to celebrate a hen party... what a perfect place to go .. there was a fantastic array of gins with the perfect mixers .. and tapas with each drink which were delicious and a nice nibble to have alongside your choice of drink .. it is set in beautiful surroundings .. and the hospitality was second to none ..we were well looked after and felt so nice and relaxed .. Will deffo go back well recommended

I've been meaning to visit this distillery since I found out about it after trying their Oro Gin a couple of years ago (they also make rum now!) I went in the evening for a few drinks and was given a choice from a menu of complimentary tapas whenever I ordered another drink or cocktail from their impressive and vast selection. Everything was clean and covid safe - and the staff were very accommodating. Both members of staff were happy to help and answer any questions I had, or select the right kind of drink for me when I couldn't choose by myself. Keep up the amazing work! I'll be back in for a proper tour as soon as I get the chance!

Bought a bottle of gin and bespoke cocktails as unable to visit distillery due to lockdown . Speedy next day delivery . We have tried one each already . Lovely .

A lovely , elegant and well present place to pass a hour or so . The food was freshly cooked and very tasty . Extremely well organised with current covid restrictions( if you are feeling a little anxious ) I tried the Oro gin which is very good and well worth a glass or two Attention to detail is excellent and would have stayed for another drink but someone had to drive Not only have two gins of their own but have over 90 gins on offer ( amazing) We would highly recommended this place to and will return if in the area again

We visited here on our last day of a holiday in Scotland and so pleased we went. The staff were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and very clued up on all the safety measures. We ordered lunch which was gorgeous then sat outside and had a try of the Rum and Oro V gin, needless to say we bought a bottle of each. Please do visit here as it's a gorgeous place and even better to support a local business. If we are back up in Dumfries and Galloway we will definitely return.

We visited soon after reopening and were so impressed by the professionalism of the team and the high standard of hygiene and care in the Distillery. Their own brand gins, cocktails and soon, I believe, rum are absolutely brilliant, even available on line at a very reasonable price. A must visit if you are near.

Distillery bar visited for drinks and Tapas We spent a very pleasant evening trying out their in house distilled gins and rum, both are well worth a try. A variety of cocktails were also tried. Each drink was accompanied by a beautifully presented and tasty “Tapas” Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Requirements for Covid measures were all properly implemented!

Found this distillery by accident. Bar area was just reopening after Covid shutdown Service was great. Food and drinks were lovely. Staff were pleasant. A small “Tapas” served with every drink ordered.

We visited the distillery for a very important family occasion and we spent a considerable amount of Money, food was overly priced and bland, gin I have to say was excellent. Some of the staff were very good but one lady I think who is the owner was absolutely awful, she ruined the whole experience for us, she should consider being behind the scenes as she should t be front of house. Would I consider going back?? Hadn’t really thought about it until a friend suggested we get the Gin cocktails for a gathering which we decided not to as it reminded me of such an awful experience.
