Fab food. On time. Always great

Waiter gave my daughter an ice cream off his own back. Appeared on bill. Didn’t want to argue so just paid contactless. Charged £10 too much but didn’t realise until we had left and checked my account. Always been the same. Not going back anymore.

I have rated myself 5/5 dinning in at the Dilraj restaurant in dodworth barnsley so hurry up "all valued curry lovers"...

Meal for 4 , the starters and main courses were lovely and tasty and the service was very good.

Food late and all cold when it arrived and chips wasn’t cooked properly

Disgusted to find an insect in my food, wasn’t bad enough that the food was cold when it arrived… will not be eating from here again

Take away absolutely disgusting chicken could not cut it with a knife it was that dry, rang up to complain said they would give us discount on our next order ( that will definitely not be happening ) avoid avoid avoid Unless you like overcooked chicken and small portions

Unfortunately we had popadoms missing from our order which meant we couldnt eat the pickle tray. Chips were undercooked and cold. We rang to complain but were told they were closing. No partial refund offered

Korma and chips were cold. Delivery driver knocked and left food at the door didn’t even wait for us to come to door, food could have been stolen living on a main road. Terrible service from driver.

Food was absolutely freezing. Said was due to be delivered at 7:50 then changed to 8:10-8:30 which I was fine about. My food did not turn up until 8:50 and it was absolutely freezing.

Dil tai food is amazing will never have a Indian from anywhere else

Not one to complain however the same experience has happened too many times now. Dil raj is our usual go to indian takeaway however the past 4 takeaways we have had there has been food missing. We have rang up every time and always been told there are no deliveries coming our way and to mention it on our next order to get money taken off. As well as our missing food tonight when i went to pay for our food on collection the total was £12 more then the price of what we actually ordered, claiming i had ordered 3x rice (i never said rice on the phone) and an extra naan bread which i didn’t pick up on until getting home, it’s a shame as this used to be our favourite indian.

Fantastic food, nothing to much trouble. Lovely wines and a wide selection of beers and Guinness. Always tastes authentic and fresh. Reasonable priced with ample parking. Keep up the good work.

Called up 30 minutes beforehand to book a table. Food was really lovely, service was quick and the waiter was also really friendly. Would happily come here again.

The curry was flavourless. The meat was poor quality. The poppadoms were stale. The naan was burnt.

Fantastic as always bit late, but was Friday so all is forgiven… would recommend to all 100%

Cold gone downhill last few months

We always love it there But tonight was different.. we paid for starters which we had but got took off our table ie pickle trays saying they need the room ..same with the mains picked up the plates really didn't hv a choice if we was done or not I get it if they was busy but it wasn't

We never got our food. We phoned when the order was 20 minutes late and was told it was on the way. We phoned 15 minutes later to be told they were going to make the meals again and they would get the food to us. This hasn’t happened. Please can we have a full refund please.

Naan bread was burnt on one half this is the second time this as happened so wouldn’t normally complain other than that curry great

Chips missing. Rang n they said cant refund will get free chips next order, wont be ordering again. Said 35-50mins delivery took 1hr and 30mins.

Unfortunately had the misfortune of eating here this evening. Bill was way over what was quoted on the menus, I would strongly advise anyone to take a photo of what your ordering in advance to stop these rip off merchants from over charging you.

Called here last minute with my family on a Friday evening. Was welcomed nicely and seated in a clean but very cold restaurant. When I asked if they could turn the heating up a little they turned it off. It was very quiet with only one other small family there. Served promptly and food came out quickly. Very overpriced menu with rather small potions and certainly nothing special. Lack of meat in all meals and tiny naan breads. Total cost was £101 although they tried to bill us £110 until I questioned it. Had a far better restaurant experience at Tandoori Hut before with far better food quality and portions at a more reasonable price. Won’t be calling back.

Booked for a party of thirteen before reading some of the recent reviews so was a bit nervous after reading some. We all arrived on time and there was a very warm friendly welcome. Everyone was seated in a timely and organised way .The service was excellent everyone had different options of food and drink and there was not one error made. When the food came it was nice and hot and all came together whether it was starters or mains. There was not one person who said they-did not enjoy the food. The bill was reasonable the service was excellent and the place is very clean as well. So it’s worth a visit.

Collection time was for 19.15 and didn’t receive our order till 20.05. Was told at 19.40 it would be 5 minutes and then at 20:00 still no sign of it.

Had a takeaway cold when arrived nanbread burnt egg shell in rice we have had takeaways before from here spot on but this one was not the best will not be ordering again

Won’t be ordering again, Good prices but it has gone down hill and used to be my go to Indian. My partner has been poorly with her stomach ever since having the curry a few nights ago. Burnt nan bread, and you can smell the old oil on the poppadoms.

Will not be ordering from here again dont know what as happened but food late and cold. Ordered at 5.15 food came at 7.00. Pieces of chicken dry and stringy. Its a shame because it was always a delicious treat. ☹️

1 degree outside, radiators cold, moved tables , still no warmer , had to eat meal with coat and scarf on , when you go to a restaurant you atleast expect it to be warm , the man is ignorant and rude , no apology for it being cold , used to be a good restaurant, won't be returning. Booked a table for 2 last Saturday night at 6.15pm. Arrived and was quite empty, except 2 couples. The restaurant was cold. We sat near a radiator but it was lukewarm at best. Poppadoms and starter were fine and as expected at any Indian restaurant. I had ordered a lamb bhuna but vindaloo hot 🔥 which most restaurants have no problem with. I also greedily asked for a large portion as I've a healthy appetite and I don't trust many places to provide a decent amount. The dish was very mild and the portion size was tiny. Literally a saucer of sauce with maybe two or three chunks of meat in it. I was immediately disgusted with this and should have complained but didn't want to make a scene. I told the waiter when he asked how our meal was that it was insubstantial and not spicy as requested. He obviously didn't speak to the manager and we paid around £65 for the meal. Thinking about it, the starter, mixed kebab was small too and cost £7 alone, instead of the usual £4-5 in other places. The mains were roughly £12 each, compared to £8 in other restaurants. This used to be a pretty good Indian but I shall never return as the meal was overpriced, iwoefully nsubstantial mains and they can't even be bothered to heat the place when it's freezing outside. Don't waste your money folks.

food was approx 1 hour late. When opened, wrong rice sent (asked for keema was sent mushroom). All of the food was cold. Must have gone on a magical mystery tour during the 1hr late to my house. Food quality has gone down the pan here. used to be the best curry house in Barnsley. Not any more, poor and cold food. Slow service. I be using other curry houses in future.

Normally good but food was a bit cold and one item was wrong. Ordered a main, paid for a main but got a starter version of it instead.

Almost £40 order and in all honesty I wouldn't want it at any price, wrong curry, pickle tray x6 pots but same 3 fillings, onion Bhaji like warmed up afters, sorry not impressed

Best curry around. Our favourite Indian by far! Nothing is ever too much trouble and we especially love the chefs specials.

Food was over an hour late. Had an issue with our food and was spoken to by a pretty rude guy. All that for a mediocre meal!

For restaurant standards I expected a lot more for £35.30 . That being onion Bhaji not over cooked and the rest of the food being Luke warm. The rogan Josh was too salty with hardly any seasonings. And when rung to ask for 2 cans of pop tried to charge £5 extra on door. I just find this somewhat greedy and unfortunate because despite these flaws the food could have been somewhat being of good standard. Unfortunately because of this I won’t order again

The driver turned very late. When I final received my order the fool cold. I phoned the restaurant up asking where my food then received is cold around and said take it up with just eat then put the phone down on me. And the food to disgusting what are the worst restaurants I ever been in my Thai life you'll never go here again I recommend you keep well away from this restaurant

Food is nice when it finally arrives. Everytime we order it takes over 2 hours for delivery. Wouldnt be as bad if they told you that when ordering but they tell you 45mins!

Having received a message at 8:40 stating my order was on its way for it to take 15 mins to arrive when I literally live a 5 min drive from dil raj. It arrived slightly warm so by the time it was dished up it was cold.! And also my chicken tikka bhuna had leaked all over the bag.! Very disappointing and will be reluctant to order again

We ordered 2 different mains. When they came they were both exactly the same apart from one being slightly hotter chilli wise. Surely an Indian chef knows the difference between a Bhutanese and a Pathia but this one obviously did not!!!! Very disappointing no wonder at 9:40 there was only one couple in the restaurant eating

Sadly this used to be our favorite place but it's lost what made it the best. Almost every time we order from here there is something missing and they never offer to bring it to you or refund the item having paid for it! The chicken tikka this time was grizzly and some of it inedible which was disappointing as this is not what we are used to from here. Sad to say it's put us off going again.

Nice food but overall too sweet for my liking. Decent vegetarian selection. We felt judged for trying to use 2 for 1 offer, we didn't use it because there were other conditions. Begs the question why offer it in the first place? Not very busy but nice surroundings and decor.

As there was a Taste card offer, I called the restaurant to make a reservation. It displays 2 to 1. My impression is that you get two meals for the price of one. I'm not even sure he knows English because of how unpleasant the person who answered my call was. I have major doubts about how these folks are handling the clientele. The restaurant management may not even be aware of this. People frequent restaurants not only for the quality of the cuisine but also for the helpful staff.

Been there today, very good food, alright service. But very expensive, i seemed to be charged much more than the price on the menu, we did mention it and the staff said that’s how it’s supposed to be. This had us rather sceptical.

So this time the food tasted much better but I just don’t get why it takes 2 hours to make and deliver a curry could have cooked one from scratch faster. £37 for two people 😞

I ordered my food for 5.50 as we were in sheffield and new what time we would get home. I got a message at 5.35 saying your food is ready to collect. So it was sat at the restaurant waiting 15 mins then we had to get home. My daughter did question the man that served her. However he blamed just eat. I don’t have the facilities at home at the moment to warm food up. So to say it was very poor and cold is an understatement. Very disappointed.

I ordered tarka dhal which arrived with extra salt in it, I rejected it. They served me a second portion that had chillies in it that I didn't request 😑 not helpful as I'm breastfeeding my baby. Apart from these mistakes, generally the dhal had a good taste to it. Other items ordered were alright, but being an Indian myself with multiple years of home cooked food and restaurant experiences I wouldn't say this is was an average tasting experience. Although the food was slightly better that Curry Mahal.

Been eating from Dil Raj for many years now. Usually a family member or friend would pick up and bring it home but since i've been caring for my dad in their vicinity i've been going in and had the pleasure of meeting the staff. These guys are 2nd to none, friendly and the food never fails. It's a part of the week me and my paps always look forward to. Thankyou from the heart guys. We'll be back again and again ❤️

hi oder a take away for pick up on 14 feb 2023.we usually have a takeaway 3 times a weak from our regular .so i think why not try a new place .oder chiken tikka starter which was full of red colour and no good taste as well , oder lamp chops which was only 2 in a portion and was not up to standards .oder 2 different curry’s in chiken main meal . they both tasted excately same with different name .honestely wasted my 35 pound in bin .will never go back .i am a business man my self been in bussiness 22 years . first trick of trade is good customer service what they have not got for sure .suggestion get a nice chef and start serving a nice fresh food with some good taste .thanks
