The Olive Branch in Leeds

Went here for a birthday meal. Food was brilliant. Service was excellent. We got variety of food everything was spot on. You need to try this place. And make sure at the end of food you try their cheesecake and turkish tea!

Reading some of the reviews I am surprised there are so many good ones! Maybe we just got unlucky with our experience. The place was nice from inside and the staff were friendly enough. The food was average, bland and overpriced. There wasn't very much of it either. I ordered the Kobeda Kebab with flatbread (even though I was incorrecty served rice with it instead!). I got 2 kebabs on a plate with some salad and a few spoonfuls of rice for £14. I was still hungry when I left! If the food was amazing I wouldn't mind paying that much, but it really wasn't. My wife ordered a similar meal for the same price and had the same experience. We also ordered a portion of chips, which were undercooked. Now, although the staff were friendly enough, the waitress we had was not very good. She gave us no napkins and no cutlery,and at one point was asking me what was on the menu! I don't want to be too harsh on her because she may have been new and was kind and friendly. That wasn't the main issue for me though, the issue was the quality of food, lack of quantity and value for money. Really not worth it. As I said, maybe we just got them on a bad day but given we live quite far from the restaurant, we wouldn't go out of our way to visit again

We stopped here for an early evening meal and were not disappointed. The interior is lovely and the service was really good. When the food came, we were not disappointed at all and would highly recommend, especially with the 25% discount in September! We would go back regardless of any discount.

We keep returning to this beauty - fantastic Turkish food at very reasonable prices. I'm sure we'll be back again and again!

Visited this place in October for my birthday party with 9 friends. The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, staff are nice but definitely need more training to deliver a better customer service . Food was amazing, tasty, warm and as food as food in Turkey and the best I’ve ever had in Leeds. If they could improve the customer service they could be one of the best in Yorkshire. I would strongly recommend it. Prices are reasonable. A massive thanks to the chef for making my guests happy with the delicious food.

Group of friends had late lunch midweek and opted for the any starter plus any main for £11.99. Amazing value, before you even order starters they bring complimentary hummus, yogurt dip and olives with never ending bread. We had fantastic lamb chops, chicken and lamb kebabs and a lamb, bread and yogurt dish all served with bulgar rice and salad. We were full after the mere starters and completely stuffed after the mains. It was all delicious. With 2 bottles of wine and 2 beers the bill for 6 of us came to £110. They now have heating in the restaurant upstairs so it really is a pleasure eating there. Friendly helpful staff too.

Having eaten at the sister branch in Ilkley and loving it we were delighted to find this place closer to home and were certainly not disappointed. We both chose to eat off the lunch special offer 2 courses for £9.99 and the food was amazing! We will certainly be back and will be recommending this restaurant to friends and colleagues.

A can’t believe it’s a year since we discovered this amazing Turkish restaurant. Proper, authentic food with an extensive menu. They had a two course for £12.95 offer which was a bonus. Lovely, freshly baked bread accompaned our delicious two courses. Great place.

I have walked past this place quite a number of times and never thought to go in but when I tried it it was really good. The food was interesting and different, it was clean and tidy service was good. I had a really good meal with lots of fresh warm focaccia bread. Don't be put off by the fact that this is a little out of the way and it's upstairs above what looks like a very interesting supermarket. I will go again.

Everything about this place is lovely. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is so tasty. Well worth a visit. Don’t be put off about the location. There is parking. This is our second visit and will be back again soon.

Visiting Leeds for a couple of nights due to attending a concert, we decided to venture out of town to eat due to the comments here on Facebook. We were not disappointed. The staff were excellent - so warm, friendly and helpful. Having already decided to have a starter and main course, we changed our minds when a basket of delicious warm bread and three bowls of dips/olives were served with our drinks. We then decided to take advantage of the incredible offer of two courses for £11.99 and chose a main course and dessert. Both were delicious. This is an unpretentious restaurant in a somewhat unexpected area - (the taxi driver had difficulty locating it) - serving good food at a great price and providing first class service. We shall certainly visit again when we stay in Leeds.

I'd walked past after dropping my car off for an MOT, which tells you a bit about the area - light industrial units, garages, storage, etc and among them there's this well-stocked continental supermarket with a restaurant upstairs. Forget about the exterior, go upstairs, and there's a lovely restaurant hidden away We took the kids and grandparents out for an impromptu evening meal and had a lovely time. Really friendly staff, lots of good choices. We weren't confident about portion sizes (didn't want to risk too much food arriving) so took it easy with meze, but just kept ordering until everyone was full. The food isn't revolutionary, but it is very good and fantastic value. What is great is having the supermarket downstairs to stock up on your way home. Also very good quality and great value, with some fantastic deserts, sweets, and very good herbs (I got some very good Greek oregano of a quality that I've struggled to find in the UK).

Was really looking forward to comeing to this restaurant as id herd lots about it. On arrival the place looked lovely well decorated. But oh my gosh it was freezing in there! The lovely waitresses brought us heaters to keep us warm. The waitress was very nice BT unfortunately she couldn't speak much English and when we asked her about stuff on the menue she couldn't explain to us about it. They brought some bred over which was amazing freshly cooked an the dips to go with the bread was lovely. The starters where very tasty. Unfortunately the main wasn't as nice as the rest of the food. We all orderd the same main an we all said same. It was tasty but wasn't the iskender donner i know. There was hardly any bread at the bottom of the dish and the donner wasn't stripped it was like a sheesh kebab. An the meat was quite grissely. Didemt want to leave a bad review as all the other food was very nice. But i must leave a true review. There was a Turkish waitress there too and she was really nice. Very friendly and understood us.

We really enjoyed the food, service and ambience at The Olive Branch; shabby-chic, clean and beautifully presented; generous portions and piping hot cappuccino. Absolutely nothing negative to say about this eatery. We will return without a doubt. Situated above the Turkish supermarket, you can stock up afterwards.

We came across the gem of a place via friends. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and staff were friendly and polite from start to finish. We always like to see what's going on in the kitchen, and these guys had nothing to hide....

This Greek restaurant is situated a little out from Leeds city centre but it is well worth visiting. It's above a little super market and even though that doesn't sound appealing it was absolutely gorgeous. The interior was romantic and stylish with incredibly attentive staff...

We didn’t know that this restaurant had been open for eight months otherwise we would have visited earlier. I have only positive things to say. The food was very tasty and plentiful and nicely presented, and well priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful....

An all rounder restaurant of excellence above a Turkish Supermarket called "Mydonose". The food and service is first class. Certainly the Turkish food is at it's best and presented beautifully. A visit is definitely a must!

Fab food, attentive staff. Great place fantastic price! It needs more people on. It would be a shame to lose this diamond I will not stop telling people about it.

This restaurant is in one of the most unlikeliest places in Leeds, it is tucked away on a small industrial estate on the outskirts of the city. We got to know about it as a member of my family works in the building next door....
