Great , friendly ,welcoming pub in the heart of Perth. Fantastic selection of excellent malts. Always happy to let you try a beer if you’re not sure what to have. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely loved this pub, visited a couple of times during my stay in Perth. Wish I didn't live a few hundred miles away as I'd be there a bit more often. Thank you for the hospitality and warm welcome - and a big thanks to the barmaid for giving me solid suggestions on good butchers in Perth.

An excellent pub! Great atmosphere. A CAMRA pub so has a decent selection of real ale. My pint of Jarl was as good as I’ve ever had. Tina the landlady was a perfect hostess. Managed to get us a seat on a busy night. All staff were lovely. My first visit to Perth and we will be back. And we’ll definitely be back to The Old Ship Inn!

Great wee pub- hidden gem and staff are fantastic

Lovely pub close to the riverside in Perth. It was quite busy on my Saturday night visit. I had a pint of Fyne Ales - Jarl which was bang on form. Live football was being shown. I will visit again the next time I'm in the area 👍

Busy as ever and deservedly so. Lovely old pub in the centre of Perth, victim of own success as can be hard to find a seat and can be very loud. Good atmosphere, great staff. A city gem.

Called into this pub to fill in a loose hour or so! To be greeted by a thorough nice young lady from New Zealand. Efficient, friendly & welcoming. Add that to a very well poured pint & you really couldn't ask for more! Would certainly call in again & if you are in the area then you won't go far wrong by paying this bar a visit.

Popped in for a drink whilst visiting Perth, with our cockapoo. A very friendly barmaid and lovely atmosphere in the bar! Would definitely go back the next time we visit Perth. It was a shame that no food is served, as we would have stayed for lunch!!! 😁

What a great place tucked away in historic Perth. Stopped here with my wife on trip up to the Highlands. This pub is a classic! Great atmosphere and super friendly bartenders!

Visiting from Canada and every single person in the pub was incredibly friendly and helpful. The staff had a friend bring us some Perth gin, which was a lovely, thoughtful thing to do. I will come back!!

Fantastic place to stop for a drink with plenty of history about Bonnie prince Charles and one of the oldest pubs in Scotland.

Perfect place for a late evening tipple. Enjoyed the Hearach (the latest whisky from Harris). Friendly, helpful staff.

Firstly, it's a fantastic pub with amazing service, atmosphere and great selection of beers, gins, rums and whiskies. Secondly, their function room is absolutely stunning. It really is an excellent choice for a venue. Very cosy, relaxed and comfortable. I cannot recommend it strong enough.

Been to this pub a few times when we go to Perth. Each time I have to say that locals seem to be served before others. This time was the absolute worst. 3 of us stood at the bar after a concert, to watch at least 3 others come in after us and get served before us. The place was not busy so absolutely no excuse for the bar person not to realise. When challenged, the bar person said it was not their fault we came in at a busy time. It's the responsibility of the bar staff to realise who's next. Even the lady he served in front of me was embarrassed about it. The bar had about 10 people in it at the time! Shocking service and absolutely no apology. Blaming your customers for coming in at a busy time is no good. We will be avoiding this bar now when we come to Perth! Such a shame.

Absolutely fantastic! We came on Sunday, and the lady who served us was amazing. I do believe that was the best pub experience I had in a long time, especially with the great service she gave us on Gins. Music & atmosphere were great too.

Best pub in Perth for real ale and friendliness

A very nice Saturday afternoon spent watching a Wales football International Drank a lovely session ale from Fyne brewery (Jarl)

I was in town walking the dog when I passed and decided to pop in for a well deserved pint. I was met with a very friendly barmaid who listed the various lagers they had . I sat down in the very cosy bar and enjoyed my drink. The bar was quite busy for a Monday afternoon and it was a great atmosphere.

Good beer and an excellent gin selection. Convivial.

Another of my visits to historic hole in the wall pubs and restaurants. Staggering history yet it feels like the friendly neighborhood pub that you'd want to frequent.

A traditional local pub, warm & friendly, welcoming visitors. Good beer and gin. A party atmosphere on Friday night after seeing a play at the theatre. Worth a visit or three.

Lovely unexpected find down a side street. Great friendly service, sat outside and we had 2 Neck Oils and 2 pints of pale ale which was excellently kept. Massive selection of spirits. Very impressive and great atmosphere both inside and in the front courtyard.

Small, friendly - priority seems to be social interaction rather than loud music, zero mobile signal 😁😎 card and board games available to play. I've not sat in a pub like this in over 40 years, love it.

This is a really nice bar with well kept cask beer. There's a good, friendly atmosphere with music and sports on. Neither was overwhelming when I visited and that always makes for a better evening. The clientele were a mix of ages, mostly 30+. It was very relaxed and relaxing. Staff were excellent, service was quick and friendly. It has a really welcoming feel to it. I'd be more than happy to come back.

I've been visiting this pub since 2014 and make a point to do so anytime I'm near Perth. I love this place... Feels local but inviting. Tina is absolutely the kindest bartender/owner you could ever meet. Totally recommend a visit to anyone wanting an authentic Scottish pub.

Excellent pub. I only tend to go here once a year (because I live far way from it!), but every time I have been it's been very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and accommodating; even when extremely busy. Definitely worth a visit!
